I have been extremely absent (more like absconding) recently and I’m very sorry about it. This blog clearly went in some kind of Hiatus, so I guess I might as well make it official. 

Due to university-commitments and lack of muse I’m putting “I’m not the enemy here” on a semi-hiatus, meaning I’m not turning it off forever, but I’ll come back sometimes to work on replies for some threads and questions. I’ll be back whenever my muse for Nyx wakes up and real life is not too hectic.

That said, I am thinking about dropping some old threads (I hope that can help restore my muse). Nothing personal, I love all of them, but some are now so old that I can’t just get into the “mood” anymore. 

If there are any threads you absolutely want to keep alive, please message me. If we drop anything, you’re always very welcome to send in starters and meme!

Mun and muse: favourite and most disliked fairies?

I see it is “unpopolar opinion time” here! Also, Mun aswered for both, since Nyx was trying to reply that she just dislikes everyone.

As for Nyx, I am sure she’s got a soft spot for the members of her scouting team and, I bet, she’s particularly fond of Fury, her second (in fact, it’s Fury we see discussing plans with her when Gruff roars at Fawn for the first time). I really don’t think she has a real dislike for any of the fairies, but she’s not too lenient on the ones who put themselves, and the others, at any kind of risk. I guess that includes Tinker Bell, Zarina, Vidia and - of course - Fawn in the list.

As for me…my favourites change quickly. I think one of them is Fawn, because I can relate and I love her character (both in the books and in the movies). I also love - really love - Fairy Mary and the book character Myka. And…here comes the unpopolar opinion…I am not too fond of Terence (to be honest, “The Lost Treasure” made me frustrated a bit at both him and Tink) and Rosetta. Rumbles annoys me in the short, but he’s not present enough to be my least liked fairy. Milori, instead, used to annoy me a bit, since I hate characters that are born with the only purpose of creating a ship (besides, he pushed Snow in the darkness, which I’ll never forgive “him”).

A few minutes passed with no words whatsoever between mother and daughter, none of them feeling like speaking anymore, not for the moment. It would be long before they would hold a normal conversation just as they used to do before… before that huge part of their life had been taken away. What used to be a constant presence in their days had been stolen at once and now they both lacked that support. One they’d never really thought they’d get to miss…

… because they have never even dreamed he’d be gone. He was going to stay with them forever, wasn’t he going to?

If those were the thoughts on her mind, what she saw reflected on her daughter’s gaze was no different. It was the same feeling of being lost, of having lost that precious balance they had until now. But something deeper seemed to lurk in the girl’s brown eyes. DISAPPOINTMENT. A N G E Reven, as she moved one hand towards her daughter out of instinct, only to watch Nyx flinch away. Rejecting her touch.

❝ Nyx, I— ❞ she began, stopping at the realisation that she didn’t know what to say. A word ofcomfort? An apology? Her hand stood frozen in the air between them. An apology for what was to come, for not being able to fill that emptiness?

She finally dared to stroke her daughter’s cheek inside the hood. ❝ Darling, it’s alright if you miss him, I do too.❞ Clarion hesitated before continuing, unsure if her next words would really be any comforting at all. ❝ But I’m still here, sweetheart, if you ever need me. ❞

Nyx was just so confused. Confused and, to her dismay, scared. She knew her mother was looking for the right words to tell, she could feel her hesitation. And yet she had no idea what she wanted to hear, the only thing she was willing to take as a word of comfort being undoubtedly a lie.

She wanted to hear that her father was going to come back. That it was a bad dream. A terrible joke someone had made to test her courage. Nyx had thought she was a brave young lady, ready to step up in front of the peril and protect her family, just like her dad. She'd always been a little warrior, everyone knew.

Except, by now, she didn't feel brave at all. She wanted to cry although her eyes didn't seem to have any more tears. She wanted to hide. To run. Yes, run away from that, from all that was burning inside of her and around in that house that didn't feel like home anymore.

❝ I don't miss him. ❞ She snapped, her chin raising so abruptly that her hood jerked on her forehead, revealing the girl's brown eyes. They were filled with fury, and hurt, and rage. ❝ Don't say that! ❞ Her voice raised. It was maybe the first one she dared to speak to her mother with such a tone, to show that attitude. ❝ That's what he said, and then...what!? ❞ Nyx jumped up to her feet, fists clenching down her thighs. ❝ He was just...a liar. And so are you! ❞

I must apologize with all of you for how I disappeared. I moved again to my college-city and I was at first without internet.

Besides, our darling friend Nyx gave tons of tantrums recently, bringing down my muse. I need to get it back. So, now that I’ve got internet again, I hope I can slowly start again to roleplay something.
