MY OTP IT'S BACK BABY. A quick sketch between work!
I need to get used to the new clothes. I still don't like Kagami's new hairstyle so I kinda drew her old one. I just love it so much 😭
ALSO THE FELIGAMI IN THIS EPISODE??????? god im fed. im sat. they need to kick me out of the restaurant season 6 you're too good to me
Another piece from 2023 that I seemingly forgot to share
I need to make a confession.
I have NEVER EVER been ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with a SIDE CHARACTER or even a CONTROVERCIAL CHARACTER before, like never. I mean sure I have liked them before but never have I been absolutely OBSESSED with them.
IT'S SUCH A PAIN, IT'S GENUINELY AWFUL
I honestly don't know how others do it.
Like WHAT DO U MEAN FELIX ONLY SHOWS UP IN 9 EPISODES? 9? Hes not Even touching double digits? Not to mention Feligami only has 3 episodes worth of interactions? Just 3? My shipper heart just died.
There is sooo little cannon content, I don't know how to live with this much creative freedom, I am literally drowning. (And scared, mostly scared, what if the version of them that has been cemented in my brain after so long isn't cannon?). Even fannon content, theres only like 560 something Feligami fanfics, most felix fics are not even anywhere near felix centric and most felix-centric fics either ship something else or are about pv felix. I am starving for content, literally starving. (I word search felix in non-felix centric fics in hopes for something good, that's how desperate I am)
Soo many people I find talking about felix are only trashing him. 😭
I heard recently that sleeping syren has both Felix and Feligami, but the English dub only gets released on 4th, that's 3 whole days away, that's 72 hours, I am literally counting down the seconds. I am sooo jealous of french speakers right now, I have never been soo jealous in my life. (Even then, realistically speaking, I know the episode will not have enough of either to be anywhere near satisfying 💔)
HOW, JUST HOW DO U PEOPLE DO THIS?
Soo... Luka confessed to Marinette.
While she thinks he has a girlfriend.
Now that the rush of that conversation is settled I genuinely wonder what maribug thinks about this. Like what? One of ur friends, who also happens to be ur ex and currently has a girlfriend, straight up tells u he loves u in the middle of ur trama dump and now he doesn't even remember it? What? What would she think about that?
I mean we know his girlfriend is just his fake girlfriend and there arnt any genuine fellings involved, but mari? She thinks he moved to Brazil for this girl, and now he says he's in love with her? I really need to know what she's thinking about this, seriously leave ur ideas in comments please, I NEED opinions.
episode so peak I had to draw it
Love the art
A lot of the miraculous fandom in the "(insert kid) is irredeemable" crowd argue their position from a weird place of viewing every negative action in a vaccum, with no consideration for the larger question of "yeah it's a dick move in the moment, but why did they do it". Which I shouldn't even have to make a longwinded me-typical defense post about because you know it's stupid, I know it's stupid, let's move on. However I think a lot of this cognitive dissonance affects normal viewers of the show (I talk to a lot of people who straight up Don't Remember stuff and form misshapen views of canon from trogs on the interwebs) so I wanted to talk about context and inference based on backstory and how the show may suck, but it does lay most things out for you in terms of character motive. For example:
Félix Graham de Vanily has been tortured since the day he was born by a father who only had him for status knowing the risks of the peacock miraculous and hated him when Félix was a person outside that status that did not gift him whatever he thought to find, instead robbing him of his health. From the way Félix behaves when he has an audience and the way he retell his childhood, every single action of his was controlled whenever he was on his father's line of sight, and to torment him, his father would force Félix to get rid of anything that made him happy and self isolate from people he cared about, the only time he had to himself being when they would visit the Agrestes and Félix would get to spend time with Adrien, which made him grow incredibly fond of him, viewing him on par with his mother. Colt is also implied to have inflicted traumatizing pain onto Felix to remind him that he could in fact kill him if he wanted to, almost breaking Félix's ring at one point and causing him excruciating pain that made Félix fear for his life up until his father died. In Félix's introduction, an interesting thing in retrospect that alludes to this is how Félix moves when hes being watched by gabriel. He moves *robotically* and doesn't speak unless spoken to, and Amelie speaks about him as if hes not there (which, since that is NOT how she thinks of him, is obvously put on). He has very strict manners and does not hug Adrien back, even though again, we know that Félix loves Adrien very much and is very physical when he is 'being himself'. Félix had to pretend to be controlled as to not seem like a threat to Gabriel.
It's also not like there was no reason for Félix to be concerned. In fact, I think there's a case to be made that a lot of Félix's worst behavior and most extreme actions were because he was scared for Adrien's life and didn't know what to do.
Imagine being a 14 year old boy finally free from your monster of a father, and you're happy to finally see your cousin again and know that there's no risk of something happening to him if your father saw how much you loved him. But his father doesn't seem to be any less of a monster, and you just have to watch as any and all autonomy is slowly taken from him. You already know Gabriel has a habit of trying to own the ones he loves; Gabriel hoarding all of Emelie's things, her family heirlooms, her acting reel, Adrien having to hide her record collection, how Gabriel wanted Adrien to stay in their home alone until he could potentially get Emelie back, how he wasn't allowed to go to Colt's funeral even though it seems like he wanted to, possibly even requested to, how you can potentially theorize that one of the reasons Adrien is a model is because its super easy to surveil him if he did leave without permission because hes famous, how he isolates Adrien from Chloe, his only other childhood friend, and while Gabriel did approve of Kagami, she and Adrien didn't even meet because he wanted them to....
i think its very possible Félix was afraid for Adrien's life. With a combination of Gabriel having his tether, isolating him from the outside world to the point that only three people would see him regularly and two of them were on Gabriel's payroll, having the peacock miraculous, and how Emelie's body was never found..... i wonder if all the drastic measures Félix took were because he was scared that there was a clock ticking down. And he was *right*.
All of these are factors that make Félix interesting. He's a victim of horrific abuse in a culture where that abuse is the *norm*, and he has to witness his mother be mistreated by his father and grandfather, watch his cousin slowly waste away and never be seen again, abd he has to learn that it's not just their horrible family, it's so much bigger than him he can't even begin to fight it. Félix has been depersonalized from everyone around him because he's hell bent on surviving by any means necessarily and keeping the ones he loves safe, and that means he won't be a perfect victim like Kagami or Adrien; he has the ability to fight, and like a starved dog he will, because he sees everyone in the world as a pawn in the game that the elite play with everyone's lives-- they're sheep, cattle to him, because none of them ever helped him. None of them could have. They're all helpless.
Félix didn't do what he did just to be mean, which is how a lot of people frame his character (or they say that he went "too far" which was um. The point, or they say he's irredeemable for things he did as a 14 year old boy 2 months after his dad who tortured him died because he was scared something was going to happen to his loved ones). I've never seen an analytical mindset like this before of viewing characters on an episode by episode basis. I can't even hate villains who are always bad for no reason. Justice for Lila, she did that shit and it was funny.
i’m sure it’ll be a very normal birthday party 🙂↕️
FELIGAMI LOVE SQUARE AU
Ok first let's see how this AU would even work, they obviously can't know each other's identities, which means that no one can know felix's identity (however emotion happened his identity did not get revealed).
And for the square to even start felix actually needs to be in paris, so lets just say that amelie just adopted adrian after s5 finale or something, point is he's there.
Now there's two ways to go about this
1)
To keep the rest of the story intact. Which means pretention still needs to happen, but in a different way. Felix can't confess or reveal his identity, if he does either of those things the square is over.
So Argos tells Kagami that she's a senti, that her mother can't treat her like, gives her a vauge overview of his life that she relates to. Argos is the one Kagami falls for, not felix.
Felix on the other hand related to kagami, saw himself in her, couldn't stop thinking about her, fell in love with her. So felix won't have romantic feelings for ryuko.
Argos is on the hero team. He needs to meet ryuko somehow right.
Their relationship with their other selves would be a bit more complex. Like Argos respects ryuko even admires her, while ryuko is trying to subtly get him to romantically notice her (he has no clue she's doing that). And on the other side of the square felix is trying to spend time with Kagami get to know her better (he promised her he won't stalk and he ment it) all while Kagamis trying to figure out why her ex's wierdly interesting, wierd cousin wants to spend time with her.
Now the other way (and my personal fav)
2)
we change the rest of the story. So pretention never happenes, kagami does not fall for Argos. Representation dosent happen either so however monarch gets defeated it isn't cause felix snitched. She still thinks he's some sort of a villian for everything he did in emotion and s4 finale cause she dosent know his reasons, no one does. Argos is still in the eyes of the public, a villain
Argos thinks Ryuko is annoying cause she keeps (mostly sucessfully) getting in his way.
They have a sort of begrudging Respect for each other due to their skills, and their approach to combat.
Felix and kagami on the other hand, they are in love and don't know what to do about it. Do they confess? They have this really big secret that they are keeping from the other one and don't want to base their relationship off of a lie.
Or maybe they are just dating
Hey. I hate to be a bother but I really need to ask, what do u think about 'once upon a time'. Like what was the point of its existence? I loved the whole play just as much as the next guy but that projectors existence kinda goes against the whole point. One of the reasons Felix says he wants the peacock Miraculous to save sentis cause no one deserves to be born only to be used and then destroyed because they fulfilled their purpose. That that is why he did not create a senti when tomoe was after them. So why create one upon a time? It's only reason for existing was to fulfill someone else's plans, it was controlled it's whole life and then was destroyed after after was said and done. Like why? That's everything felix was fighting against, why do that? The only reasons I've heard revolve between felix being a hypocrite (I will cry a river and never see this show again if this this is where canon goes) or just plain bad writing, the writers wanting to do a unique play and undermining felix's character for it, or them realising the peacock Miraculous is just a shiny piece of jewelry if it powers aren't being used (I know they probably won't but I kinda wish the writers keep the peacock as a shiny peice of jewelry, we have already seen felix is pretty competent without powers other that the physical boosts the peacock gives him he doesn't really need anything else to make his place on the team, besides we already have so many people with powers on the team a guy who's biggest weapon is his brain being there would definitely be interesting). I completely lost my train of thought, where was I? Right 'once upon a time' my personal theory is that sentis also follow the normal defination of a living being, if its growing, breathing and breeding it's alive, which would mean the projector in question would not be considered alive, just a robot made of magic. But I resently saw somewhere that it was confirmed that ALL sentis are alive, and then theirs the fact that felix called red moon his sister and she doesn't exactly fit this definition either. So there goes that. Next was that since felix specifically put the amok of both the sentis he created is an object that already contains an amok (his ring and kagamis), maybe the new senti forms some sort of a connection with their amoks and is just like an extension of themselves? Like they don't really have their own life and soul so when the physical form is dismissed nothing actually dies? But again red moon, his sister who's amok was in his ring. I was really wondering if u had some in cannon theories about this. ('Some Information yet to be revealed that I'm sure will explain all this' does not count)
I do have thought about this! I think a lot of Félix Enjoyers do
Quick correction though, Red Moon wasn’t actually in Félix’s ring but rather, a false copy of Adrien’s! Félix’s ring has more of a blocky design/has lines along it. So your previous theory about Once Upon A Time being an extension of them could still hold some weight.
Anyways I have a few possible in-canon explanations that may or may not be true.
For one, it could be that Félix specifically doesn’t want to create anything for war/battle purposes, finding it cruel to raise something just to fight before killing it off. Hence why Red Moon devastated him so much (he specifically talks about recreating her for the wrong reasons and feeling as though he forced his hate on her) but why Once Upon A Time is different. Once Upon A Time is created to help, not hurt, and has a gentler purpose.
Another could be the emotion in which both were created. Félix talks about using his anger and hatred when creating Red Moon, which again, he feels absolutely terrible about later. With Once Upon A Time, it’s completely different. He’s talking about revealing their truth, he’s side by side with Kagami, and he’s much calmer and clear headed. These scenes definitely parallel each other and honestly Once Upon A Time miiight exist to show how far Félix has come? Which isn’t the perfect way to do it but it’s interesting all the same.
My last idea is a little less based in canon. All sentis are alive but with different kinds of life. Humans, animals, bugs, and plants are all alive too! All that life is valuable but not all of it lasts a long time. Some fruit flies die in under an hour while there are animals out there that can live up to a hundred years! So while they all have the same value, not everything lasts as long and that’s okay. The idea of creating something that won’t last is daunting but the point might be to love it all the same. That it can still serve an important purpose, even for just a little while.
Butttt that’s probably the least likely and is more about my musings on the Peacock Miraculous and how it’s used/can be used more than anything. The first two are way more likely imo. It’s not my favorite writing choice they’ve made but it’s canon so I gotta think about what it means and decide for myself that way!
Hope any of that was useful/interesting for you!
(pre - representation, definately cannon feligami moment)
Felix - Hey kagami u wana tell ladybug about our tragic pasts, the fact that we are feathers and the, unfortunately still, living nightmare that is my family through a minimalist theater play for our 2 week aniversary?
Kagami - U are so romantic ❤️🥰😍❤️
Is anyone else in love with the fact that the whole process of felix getting kagami to fall for him basically conisted of asking her to run away with him, snapping her mother out of existence, getting in a fight with her.
And the proceeding to tell her he is basically in love with her, can't stop thinking about her right alongside the facts that he is a wanted man, has the superheros and supervillains of the city after his blood, had a father who could put the devil to shame and the part where neither of them are technically human.
Then he asks her out to the movies.
I mean u cannot convince me this boy does not base the entirety of his knowledge about romance off of Shakespeare or something.
I'm enjoying creating again!
Baby Chat is sad :( I'm rewatching every episode, and seasons 2 and 3 are so sad for Chat, omg.
I'm trying to reconnect with my artistic side, and I wasn’t really comfortable with Instagram and Twitter anymore. So I’m starting fresh on Tumblr! I’m an adult, but I’ve never used Tumblr before — so I’d love your help learning how to use it :P
Song: Want Me by Baby Queen
Besides the ox miraculous, what are other miraculous you think would fit felix? The first one that comes to mind would probably be the fox miraculous because of felix's time disguising as adrien and for the many tricks he pulled for getting what he wants
ALL OF THEM REALLY. Felix is such a fun character to design and write Kwami swaps for! Not only is he clever, but he uses his intelligence in surprising ways — meaning that if you throw a magical trinket at him, any magical trinket, he will find a cool way to use it that is both new and uniquely his. Just look at what he did with the Peacock! Just look at what he did with the Dog! This kid is an absolute menace and I love him so much.
