By the way, for all those peeps demanding names, I got them for you now. And yes, I actually thought about it, it’s not some wily-neely decision. The chef is Alexander and the fly is Jade. Jade is a green gemstone (the scarf, you know…) and sounds non-binary enough to suit the fly. And the chef is Alexander just because I associate that name with one particularly dark character and I just love how classy the name sounds (the chef is not super classy, I must say, tho).

He doesn't mean his own babies, he means frogs as species sometimes eat their babies (tadpoles), if they can't find any food in the wild and if they're hungry enough. He's not talking about anyone in particular, just saying that frogs can be cannibalistic as well as carnivorous. Hope this clears it up!

Fun (?) fact: I pulled this list from the first article I found when I googled "what do frogs eat?". That's also how i discovered that they're herbivores when they're tadpoles, omnivores when teens, and carnivores when adults.
