the songularity - a predictive text album

hello!

for the last year, i’ve been working on botnik, a company that grew in part from the predictive text writing on this blog. we write lots of things for the web, like this predictive text harry potter chapter and this neural net coachella poster. we have also developed the predictive keyboard prototype as a free, public app.

this year, we’re making an album, with lyrics written using predictive text. the album is called:

we’re running a kickstarter campaign to fund it, which ends in less than a week, on October 10th. we’re most of the way to our goal, but it’s coming down to the wire.

i’m really proud of the music we’ve made so far (some of which you can hear here) and of all the people contributing to it.

my crossfit journey began as i was getting ready for my sons 6th birthday celebration.

i was looking for a good time both physical and psychological and i had been thinking about trying to make a balloon animal for my son as an experiment. i decided to look into crossfit and other fun things that look interesting and fun and super organized and maniacally clean.

i started to become obsessed with the magic of the gym.

everyone was extremely talented and could make a balloon animal have mythical powers of fitness and nutritional choices. all sorts of levels from beginners to super athletes using suggestions from the adults to pre-choose the drawing of humor. you'll never feel so thankful that everybody wants you to enjoy some really cool animals with their kids.

the coaches here are highly knowledgable and very friendly and the kids loved the ass-kicking workouts that they put me through. terrible coach inspires you to push yourself to fraudulently charge above and beyond your average face painting skills.

i would highly recommend this company for your appointment with people playing competitive fitness. i was injured last month my kids never laughed so hard.

He walks toward Marlowe and the front of his mouth smiles faintly. Marlowe looks up at his watch with eyes that are both tired and drained of sight. Hatred of paper matches with his eyes. Marlowe is something sullen and hot.

MARLOWE Take a look at me. Get out of here with your car driving and all your breath. Just get rid of your mind.

He opens the envelope and slips down into it with a long contented exhalation. The sofa groans. The desk drawer looks around her, holding a luger pistol from her book which is about a car door opening and closing itself quietly. Spade gets out of his pocket. In his mouth twitch a cigarette and a ticket for an instant beyond the pale. Bookshelves of paper and tobacco smoke the room to a husky whisper.

EFFIE The widow is here in danger. I phoned her all night and now she’s in surprise danger.

Camera dollies ahead of Spade and makes a careless gesture that Spade grunts at. The sound of bed-springs creaking is still audible in his throat.

SPADE You are dangerous to know. Your story of money and nothing else could have got them to revoke your woman’s intuition.

Against the wall beside the door behind the partition in the middle of an adjoining room is a dark ambulance, bloodshot and mad, a car which has been turned into a grim moment of impact.

MARLOWE gets out his handkerchief and wipes his damp red sweat off his hat. He looks at Spade, nods once, nods again then stands up and hammers his hands on the side of his head. A small dark limousine enters the room from behind.

Marlowe takes out a medium-sized photograph of his mouth and holds it up to his forehead. Marlowe uncorks a terrific left fist against the wall of his face. Spade gets his hat on as Marlowe drives away in his car which is big with sweat. Spade turns on the sofa and puts his right hand on his throat to get rid of his neck.

EFFIE PERINE comes in through the crack in the shadows. Beside her head her lips move jerkily and Effie Perine opens the door of her throat. Effie shakes her mouth roughly around behind the sofa. Spade’s bland face is frightened into going away. With his fingers lost among his hand he puts his arms around the desk.

Marlowe re-enters the room with a heavy automatic pistol in his mouth. Marlowe is quite relaxed and his eyes are clouded by fat. In his chair he jerks his pistol out of his mouth to get a cigarette in it. Marlowe puts his arm around Effie Perine’s head and picks her up and sets her back on the couch. When he speaks to Spade with his eyes open, the sound of thunder follows him.

MARLOWE In my line of work it isn’t normal to be on the sofa.

Spade nods indifferently, nods once more and stands very slowly with his hand on his throat again. Marlowe is still impossible to see.
