I drew my coworkers individually in brush pen, then photoshopped the drawings together for this star wars themed drawing.

My boss asked me to include our secretaries and supervisors and plans to print it out as a poster to hang. Haha. I am now the official poster maker for our section of the campus library.

The designer I chose for the last outfit is Rachel Zoe.

Here are some outfits from her Resorts 2012 Women’s Wear Collection:

The color scheme she used for this collection is analogous.

She combined shades of red-orange-purple-blue and shades of orange-orangeyellow.

This type of color combination gives the calming and soothing effect. It’s a perfect choice of color scheme for a women’s collection because it gives the mature and sophisticated look.

It’s here! For those artists who spend loads of time trying to figure out why their art is not coming out the way they want it to be, making thumbnails (or making studies) is the thing for you! It’s also great of getting rid of the habit of zooming in.

Notes for an Anon who asks, 

“ Hey Justin, thanks for your reply earlier. Just wanted to expand on my previous ask - do you have any tips for achieving colour harmony across an entire painting? I often feel like the objects in my paintings look disjointed, like I haven’t chosen the ‘right’ brown for trees or the ‘right’ green for grass when I use opaque brushes, this isn’t so much of an issue when I’m painting a single object or character but when painting an entire scene I find it very difficult to tie everything together. “ btw, this is COMPLETELY UNACADEMIC- I mean, parts may be “academic” but this is not meant to be a textbook. Terms are used VERY CASUALLY and the information is not at all comprehensive. This is an extremely brief superficial look at the term “Color Harmony”. If you want ACTUAL color education, either take Sam Nielsen’s Schoolism class, or get James Gurney’s Color and Light book, or do both!!!!! That said, I hope it helps some folks!

Free Drawing (April 2015)

Yes, I am finally resurrecting my monthly free drawings. Spring semester will be starting, and I should find myself with more time on my hands. You may or may not recall me making this piece forever ago in 2012.

I'm not going to guarantee whether or not I will color the drawing for the winner, as my time I can spend on each piece will vary.

A birthday present to one of my friends. He loves Bleach and came up with the whole idea behind his zanpakuto Illithid. The command for it is “unhinge” and it plays tricks with the mind. The blade is some type of glasslike metal, with a blue wrapped hilt. From there I designed this for him.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched Bleach. I’ve debated starting it over, but watching it in Spanish :]
