[ â ] - Lukeâs eyes moved yet once again towards the girl with the long braid. Â He could have cared less about the commotion the two stirred up in the classroom. However, the girl seemed as if she wanted to melt into the floor. Her ears turning slightly pink and a blush across her cheeks. If no one had noticed them before, judging by all the snickers and not-so-quiet side comments, it was safe to say that was over.Â
âWait, so itâs not going to stain? Good.â Although her gaze was elsewhere and her head was down he still felt a small wave of gratitude towards the shy girl. Out of all things she could have dumped onto him, at least it was tea. This whole situation was in poor taste to begin with but at least he wouldnât have to toss a shirt by the end of the day.
âNo it doesnât hurt anymore and I donât need to be walked to the clinic.â He refused her offer, his annoyance slowly fading. Luke was just grateful this young woman was kind enough to care. âIt was hot but itâs fine now. Besides, class is about to start.â Luke sat down once more and reached down, grabbing the fallen and now empty tea cup and placed it on the empty desk next to him. It was his own way of accepting her apology and saying he was alright if she sat next to him. âNow that you subjected me to an unwilling and unpleasant tea bath, do you think you can do me a favor?âÂ
{â§} - WellâŚ.at least she hoped it wasnât going to stain. Tea was pale, at least. Mithienâs lips dragged back into a sheepish line as she continued to weather his words. At least he didnât seem to be in any pain. Anymore. So she hadnât made a complete and total mess of the morning.
âA-alrightâŚbut you should keep an eye on it. Uhm, sometimes burns blister.â She winced at her own words. Was she trying to get herself into deeper trouble with him?
Her hands slowly dropped away from wringing her braid as the boy reached for the fallen cup and slapped it down on the desk space beside him. Any empty spotâŚwas he saying she could take it?
Gripped by hesitance, Mithien shifted her bag on her shoulder and then stepped forward, moving past him to seat herself in the chair next to his. Keeping her head lowered, she hurriedly began to remove her books and pencils from the bag, preparing her desk for class.Â
The sound of the boyâs voice tweaked at her attention. Green eyes peered over at him, one eye partially shielded by a thin lock of platinum blond that had slipped away from her bangs. A favour? âI suppose itâs the least I can do,â she hedged, feeling wariness seep into her chest.
[ â ] - Â Luke only nodded at her words. It was almost as if the girl was rambling, but he knew it was out of concern. Besides, she must know something about health care if she warned him against blistering. Maybe that was her major?Â
As she hesitantly sat down and began to quickly unpack her things, he couldn't help but watch her out of the corner of his eyes. He had seen the green-eyed girl before, after all they did have class together, but had given her no second thought. Luke had written her off as shy and anxiety prone and truthfully, had no interest in starting a conversation. But then again, she could just prefer to stay in the shadows instead of the spot light. That was probably why she seemed to buckle under the eyes of their peers only seconds ago and seemed to prefer to keep her head down instead of held high.Â
Luke nodded and caught one of her eyes. The other was blocked by her light blonde hair that fell from her bangs. At least he piqued her attention. âI didn't do the homework.â He hesitantly said, internally smothering the feeling of being a cheat. He just hoped she would pick up what he was saying.  âCould you tell me the jist of the article? I can complete the assignment by myself from there.âÂ
