While waiting for her mate to return Adrian spends her days studying the various soft flesh creatures on Erid. It's her job, her passion, and is almost enough to fill the emptiness that's been lurking inside her for over forty years. But during a normal day out in the field Erid government agents whisk her away to help solve a problem of theirs: A strange soft flesh being from another world that's missing an arm and clearly dying.
