In the kingdom of Taras, everyone lives with a prophecy. The fortunate call it a gift, the unfortunate a burden. You are the youngest child of House Rauz, a powerful noble family only a tier beneath the king. Shortly after your thirteenth birthday, you travel to the capital with your family with a distressing, newly minted prophecy scrawled out across your skin.
Soon enough, you find that you have other, equally pressing concerns; a key purpose of your visit is to place you at the side of Lux, the younger, more favored child of King Caius. When Lux gets a prophecy, it seems even more damning than yours.
Can you save Lux before it's too late, or will you both go down the wrong road together? And can you solve your own prophecy? Only the years ahead will tell.
Note: After originally deleting The Brightest Stars due to severe mental health issues and losing my entire outline, which devastated me, I'm back to writing it.
Note: The Brightest Stars is a single RO game, with a mandatory romance path. This is necessary for the plot.
Lux zi’il Aurym (M/F)
Lux is the favorite child of the king, though they're a legitimized bastard. They're charming, passionate, and proud to a fault. There's a darkness lurking in them, a corruption that could rot and fester, but there's kindness, too, ripe for fostering. Maybe, with your help, one side can win out?
Lux is tall and lean, with light brown skin and curly black hair. They have bright green eyes, with a mole under their left eye, and a delicate, slender face. Both Male and Female Lux grow to be exceedingly beautiful in adulthood. Female Lux is the same height as Male Lux.

Make choices that raise the MC's corruption and Lux's, and impact endings
Experience different dynamics with Lux depending on their gender and the MC's
Try to survive the backstabbing, politicking and intrigue of court, and maybe even conquer it
Play a game spanning years, from the MC's early teens to their mid-twenties
This demo features all four playable background origins and the first half of the Prologue, amounting to ~37k words in total. It serves as a taste for what you can expect out of the full game, which will be episodic in nature. The full Prologue will be released sometime in early 2026, and like the demo, the entire game will be free to play in browser.
Before you start, here's some helpful tips and reminders:
The game is rated 17+ for a reason, and the demo features a few scenes of descriptive violence, gore, and character death. A running list of content warnings is accessible from the landing page.
While it should be playable on most devices, know that the game is not optimized for mobile. Google Chrome straight up doesn't work (unfixable, sorry), others like Firefox can get buggy, and the formatting gets weird when not in landscape mode. If you run into trouble on mobile, try switching browsers.
If you run into any bugs or spelling/formatting mistakes, please send me an ask with screenshots. I'll keep a running list of minor fixes to include in the first patch. Anything game breaking will get dealt with asap.

It's actually so fucking weird that your identity is absolute these days. like, it's been normalized to the point we don't think of it much, but until a hundred years ago, hell even less, you could just kinda. go somewhere else, and be a new person. and that's not a thing anymore.
since a good few people now have said this i want to be clear: you can move to a new town still and change socially, but like. the government still knows who you are. so do tons of corporations. your identity follows you.
Something pretty exciting happened today!!! 😄 I got my very first ask from a player who played THoN with the ROs as women! In lieu of this, from now on, I’ll be referring to all the ROs as follows:
L = Lestat/Lucette
D = Dimitri/Delilah
Z = Zero/Zara
Snow = Snow (groundbreaking, I know)
Lu = Lux/Lorelei
If you can think of a better abbreviation for Lux/Lorelei, let me know!
theo van gogh was the one who suggested that his older brother vincent start seriously painting. as soon as theo was gainfully employed he gave vincent around 15% of his own yearly salary for art supplies, lodging, and food. about 2/3rds of vincent's surviving letters were to theo (including vincent's earliest and last letters), all of which were found stored in theo's desk. theo's child, vincent willem, was born on january 31st, 1890, and vincent was so delighted by his nephew that he painted almond blossoms for him. vincent shot himself half a year later on july 29th, 1890. theo's distress at his brother's death worsened his syphilis symptoms and he died half a year after his brother on january 25th, 1891 (four days before vincent willem's first birthday). theo was reburied next to vincent in auvers-sur-oise at the request of theo's wife johanna.
And that love lived on Theo's wife, Johanna, who was the one who pushed for the preservation of Vincent's paintings. Johanna who made sure that her husband's beloved brother would not be forgotten. Johanna who fought tooth and nail so that Theo and Vincent would never be forgotten. Johanna who carried the family legacy, who made sure that the works of Vincent would be kept in her possession. And then Vincent Willem, named for a uncle so loved, carried this legacy and founded the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
The van Gogh family history is deeply interwoven with love. It was the love of a brother that gave a young man the courage to paint and the resources to do so. It was the love of a woman for her husband and her husband's beloved brother that made that story known. And it was the love of a nephew, who was so deeply loved even if for such a short time, that made it possible for the world to know Vincent van Gogh.
The increase in online censorship and regulatory guidelines surrounding porn is bad. However, it is very funny to see a drawing of a fictional character turn to the audience and go "I consent to this" right before they get absolutely railed
