We had fantastic weather today. Baby boy and I went for a 10k run after our mommy and baby class this morning. He slept for about and hour after the run. He must have been tired after playing with his friends.

Back to the trails!
We’ve had a very mild winter so far here in Northern Japan and I’m pretty greatful for that.
I’m running a 45km trail race next month so my husband helped me find the course and I got a 2 hour practice today.
The trail was beautiful today with a mix of sun and snow.
Chipotle Black Bean Burgers for the win. It was my second time making them and I definitely recommend baking them in the oven rather than frying. Way less mess and I prefer the taste.
Life and Running updates
My husband and I had a beautiful baby boy in July
I ran up to 35 weeks pregnant with him
I ran a slow 5K at 5 months pregnant and a 6K trail run at 7 months
My husband and I went out hiking my last month of pregnancy and I got lots of comments (I guess not very many women hike pregnant in Japan)
It was difficult to keep active throughout my pregnancy but looking back I’m glad I did
I ran a 12K trail race a month after giving birth
And I climbed the same mountain with my son (and again lots of comments about hiking with a baby, apparently not common in Japan)
I’m looking forward to getting back into running next year

Maple’s first snow
Play or relax?
Happy to be back on the island
Life Updates My husband and I finally found a house to rent and the best part is that it is close to the beach. We also got our dog Maple. She is six months old and an adorable little mischief maker. I haven’t been running much but have a few races in autumn so I’m going to get as much running in as I can this summer break.
Snowy tempo Thursday run ❄️
Tuesday commute to work. A wee bit rainy on the way back.
January 7, 2018 My husband and I explored some trails at Chisan no Mori. The best part, there was very little snow on the trails!

Made it up to the top of the local mountain today ⛰ Great weather + fantastic views + lunch= One awesome day
December 31, 2017 We had good weather so we did a 6km snowshoe trek at Mt. Kurikoma and I attempted to run in the snow.
Snowshoeing at the local mountain. We were lucky that a few snowshoers made the trail before us early in the morning.
