you and ryo were basically close friends , sitting next to each other in class and even going to school together . everyone assumed you guys were a couple but you werenβt which always got you thinking , what if ryo likes me ??
after class ended , you both were packing up and heading out . ryo turned to you , his hands stuffed in the pockets of his jeans . he looked a bit stiff , a quick snort escaping you . as you did so it earned a small playful 'whatβ from ryo . you both laughed a bit before ryo asked you something .
"letβs go to a movie theatre , you know . there is a horror movie up right now . the conjuring 2 or whatever ."
ryo explained , you pursued your lips to a thin line silently thinking to yourself . a horror movie ?? you shrugged your shoulders
you said , which earned a smile from you . ryo smiled back . before you could even notice , you both were already in front of you apartment complex .
"okay , meet you there at 5 . donβt be late or iβll steal your pudding for a week ."
ryo teased before waving to you , he walked away along the streets going home . you just stood there , as if you were stuck . your hand gripped the strip of your backpack tightly and your heart beat had picked up . you quickly let out a yelp .
"what the hell ?? snap out of it ."
you said to yourself , shaking your head and running up the stairs .
you were getting ready , finished with your make up and double checking your outfit in the mirror for the 5th time already . you sighed out , biting your lower lip . what the hell was this feeling you thought , you were just going out with ryo your close friend nothing else . you thought , shaking your head . you grabbed your purse putting some stuff into it , you grabbed your phone and told your mum where youβre going and with whom , she gave you a smile and told you to have fun .
you stepped out of the door , your phone buzzing in your hand . you looked at the screen seeing that ryo had texted you .
"iβm already there in 5 mins donβt be late."
the text read , nothing unusual but somehow your heart was beating . you just closed your phone and started walking .
when you arrived , you were able to spot ryo quickly . you approached him .
"hey , i already got us both tickets ."
"great , and thanks you shouldnβt have ."
you said , but ryo insisted that it was just normal etiquette . you shook your head , slapping him lightly on the shoulder .
"letβs go and grab some popcorn , itβs on me . "
ryo said , which you frowned at . you spoke up as you both stood in line . he was already ordering which annoyed you .
you said stubbornly ,οΏΌryo wasnβt paying you much attention . he just listed what you liked .
"a medium salty popcorn , a small sweet popcorn and two cokes please ."
the cashier just nodded along , tapping on the screen before telling you guys to wait for 2 minutes which you did . after those two minutes passed you grabbed one of the four things each and headed to the theatre .
ryo said teasingly , stepping aside to let you walk before him . you let out a snort and walked through the seats , sitting down as ryo followed suit .
"you really got us the couple seats ."
you said with a laugh , taking one of the popcorn pieces and eating it . your eyebrow raised .
you just laughed shaking your head .
as the film started , you both focused on it . the storyline was pretty interesting and it was good that you had already watched the first part also .
you stretched you arms out a but , taking a sip of the coke and setting it aside . you felt two pairs of eyes staring at you , you turned to your right and noticed ryo staring at you . you both looked away at the same time , you cleared your throat , taking a small peak at ryo again . you noticed his ears , they were red . it made you smile .
the movie had ended after 2 hours and 14 minutes . you yawned out and stretched a bit , ryo stood up grabbing the trash and throwing it away into the trash bags . you stood up , both of you walking side by side .
you said , nodding . it was scary but you could handle it .
"agreed , we should do this more often ."
ryo said which earned a nod from you again , you both walked out of the movie theatre . as you guys were walking , your hands occasionally brushed against one another . ryo let out a sigh , raising his head .
"oh , weβre here already ."
he said pointing to your apartment complex .
"yeah . . that was oddly quick to be honest ."
you said laughing , but ryo wasnβt . he looked dead serious , his lips pressed into a thin line before he spoke up .
"look , i have to tell you something ."
he said , you raised your eyebrows nodding .
ryo said , which caught you off guard . you stood there , just like earlier . stuck to the ground , your lips slightly agape . you nodded .
you silently said , cutting yourself off mid sentence .
you could tell , ryo was nervous . his voice shaky , probably because he was scared of rejection . you thought , you didnβt know .
you gathered up all your courage , smiling and nodding .
"i , i like you too ryo . "
you said , ryo looked up from the ground . his eyes wide and his ears slightly red again .
"what ? ! ? oh ugh i mean , yeah cool ."
you laughed at his fake nonchalant act , rolling your eyes .
"then , will you be my girlfriend ?"
ryo asked , looking troubled again .
your replied , giving him a peak on the cheek . he smiled at you and so did you .
"im the luckiest person on earth ."
ryo said exclaiming , he patted himself on the shoulder .
