SNAKES WERE EVERYWHERE. taking the form of an individual thought once before could be faithful. through such statements of dean , it was patently clear gaia’s saying’s did not only account to LOVE , but to TRUST. and in turn , any manner of emotion was undoubtedly a WEAKNESS. had she not stood attentive of such particulars before , it was apparent she did now. octavia’s head angles to the side ever vaguely at the presentation before her. dean’s extraction of the blade is not what instigates a tense jolt to offshoot amongst her muscles , but the spectacle of which rapidly captured her eye. BLACK BLOOD. she stands deprived of words , face annulled of any sort of antiphon nor reaction. as if a statue she mounts erect. time of unspecified length passes by , ears resonating with a chaotic buzz. octavia can SEE him speaking , but only far and few words between ensue to cut through. alas , which wording did stream into her attention were ones which could produce the most destruction ––– I TAKE THE FLEIM.

A more genuine smile couldn’t help but press upon his features, somewhat relieved to see that the years of slumber had a good effect on her. SHE NEEDED IT quite possibly more so than any of them on the ship. the tiredness which shadowed her eyes had no longer remained, but a fresh face. a fresh awakening for a NEW LIFE & she didn’t even know it yet. if he were being honest, excitement had actually began to grow in his chest at the thought of it ; the memory coming to mind of her face lighting up at her first moonrise. it gave him almost nothing short of pure BLISS knowing that he’ll be able to see it once more. ❛ you’re not too far off, actually. there’s still time for that. ❜ a chuckle would flow, realizing the OMINOUS CHOICE in his wording. his gaze would be compromised for a moment, following jordan as he walked by before returning his attention to his sister. ❛ everything seems to be checking out okay… how're you feeling ?? ❜

WAVE OF PUZZLEMENT MOMENTARILY EXHIBITS UPON HER FEATURES. lost in curiosity as to just what he might mean by his preliminary statement --- not too far off. had there been a cat , there was no uncertainty her curiosity would have killed it. alas , dwelling on his jargon does not last as yet again the banter shifts back in her direction. the way he communicates to her , how his voice transmits concerned qualities when inquiring on how she felt , it made her wonder had the warring sides ripping brother and sister apart all been but a fabrication of her slumber ?? ❛ like i just took a nap on the floor. ❜ had the phrase tumble from any other tongue it would not convey the same sarcastic tinge as it did to them. perhaps that was why a beam was cracked from underneath the thawing ice. for just ONE MOMENT , they were not established on conflicting sides of a battlefield. neither wielding weapons within bloodstained holds. simply they were BROTHER AND SISTER. nothing more , nothing less. ❛ but i can’t complain too much , that TEN YEAR nap was nice. ❜

SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT, whether octavia is looking for her brother is a good thing or a bad thing. she heard stories of octavia, ones told before bellamy knew of blodreina, the ones that showed emori just how much he longed for his sister and to be with her again. emotions weren’t often emori’s strong point, and yet, she felt them whenever bellamy spoke of his sister. even she, without truly knowing the other girl, had come to admire her because of the pedestal bellamy put her on. it’s different now —— she learned that quickly once coming back to the ground. and when they did, there was no longer time for stories of their past and introductions to those around them. it was only war. this is another change —— a chance for a fresh start, to finally shed their previous lives and start something new. there isn’t much for emori to hold onto back on the ground. only her family, and they’re here now ( wherever they are, it’s where she belongs —— she finally has a place for that. )

WEIGHTED EXHALE PRESSES FROM HER NOSTRILS. to observe reprieve to befall the sibling at emori’s claim , on the exterior it appeared near alien. how could it be conceivable to view two once so united now stared upon the other as if STRANGERS. however for those who bore witness to the calamitous reunion , it wasn’t as mindboggling as once thought. was not that octavia did not still care nor treasure her brother , rather that was precisely why she sought out separation. wounds constructed over the preceding days were not those which could be mended together. to heal such a distinctive union , finding the capability to heal oneself alone first was precedence. only then could fragmented bonds become whole. until that point though , octavia turns away. drifting into corridors and chambers bellamy had not previously claimed , questioning his whereabouts before entering , and associating with those whom his relations were not intently knit. in the end , such deterrents left octavia selecting SECLUSION over COMPANY. a road lonesome that left her longing for the presence of another. thankfully her wish did not fall on deaf ears. ❛ YEAH IT’S GOOD ❜ moving wholly into the apartment , noting emori’s statement be true , octavia’s muscles release their apprehensive clasp. ❛ i mean , not that i am mad at him or anything just , sometimes you need your SPACE ya’know ?? ❜ not a lie , but not completely the TRUTH.

niylah is grateful for the amount of trust that octavia has in her, especially because she knows it’s not something she grants everyone. while knowing who octavia really was before praimfaya didn’t seem to be an advantage for indra or kane, it was for her. her lips lift ever-so-slightly into a smile. ❝i do know how to poison you, though. i wouldn’t be trikru if i didn’t.❞ a joke in poor taste, she’s sure, but she says it nonetheless. still, if she were to poison someone, she wouldn’t have been nearly as obvious as bellamy was. ❝i don’t want to see anything happen to you. not just for my sake, but you’re the person wonkru needed to survive. we would be doomed without you.❞

OF POOR TASTE BUT CUNNING NONETHELESS. octavia fashions a passing beam of which withers just as swiftly as it materialized. but it was there. the first UNPRETENTIOUS SMILE she has donned in years. alas however , with a shift of focus , any likelihoods of another rising is quickly dashed. aware niylah means only to bring ease , octavia struggles to hold onto the positives of such testimony. she was the one wonkru NEEDED. needed in the BUNKER. needed when all chance of reaching the surface had been eradicated. octavia was needed then. but now ?? now they were prepared to toss her aside as if she was merely a PUPPET fashioned to do with as they pleased. muted tints of green gaze downward away from the other as the thoughts swim amongst her mind. ❛ well i’m glad i could oblige. ❜

RECORDS OF THE VENOM REMAIN PERPETUALLY EMBEDDED INTO HER MIND. the way it obscured your views , how it warped your thoughts. it was tantamount to being sucked into a vortex. unsure whether to look left or right , up or down. nothing was true but nothing was false. the only tangible hold one could sieze amid the storm was the awareness of the overwhelming AGONY coursing throughout their build. porcelain teeth descend deep into the lower portion of her lip in reaction to his strident tongue. so much so a metallic varnish begins to coat her tongue. HE DIDN’T MEAN IT. at least that is what she has to repetitively remind herself to retain focus. conversely , his malice is short lived as his despise of the younger soon mutates into a deep need. a YEARNING one might say for her presence at his side. before octavia manages to pull further than an inch from his side , a calloused hand quickly cups her jaw , drawing her back in a beseeching manner. bellamy is TERRIFIED. the sight alone is enough to break her in ways never believed probable. all her life he had concealed his distress for his sister’s wellbeing. but now octavia saw it for what it truly was , and it was DEVASTATING. pushing down the emotional wave threatening to take hold , the cynical leader alters her posture beside her brothers thrashing physique , eyes fluctuating upwards every few seconds as to check where the hell jackson was. ❛ i’m right here bellamy. ❜ she reiterates in a pacifying tenor as her devotion falls back exclusively to him. hoping it would bear some sort of peace to befall him during this horrendous time. ❛ and i’m NOT going to let you die , you hear me ?? we are going to get them out and you will be FINE. ❜ he had to be fine.

WHAT WILL WE BE? IS THE QUESTION she almost asks, but she reconsiders it almost immediately. phrasing her question as if she and the red queen are some kind of unit is not something that she wants to suggest, even if she does have a certain respect for the other. it’s not admiration, no — but her determination not to give up is what spurned it. she does not mistake octavia’s hunger for power with passion for her people, or maybe the two intermingle in a strange way that diyoza doesn’t understand… but if octavia’s drive to fight for what she wanted could be used elsewhere, if she could find redemption, then there might be hope for her yet. diyoza doesn’t hold her breath, however. ‘ what will you be? ’ diyoza asks instead. her head tilts as she sticks mostly to the shadows, the view from this new planet, their golden world, looming ahead of them from the starboard observatory. her arms fold, and her eyes narrow somewhat as she gazes upon the woman who she had been caught up in a war with in what only feels like the last few days. ‘ are you still a serpent, or will you be something more? ’ perhaps diyoza is asking because she has no idea what’s in store for her now. either way, she is wise enough to know that the only two serpents on this ship cannot taint yet another garden of eden.

WHAT WILL YOU BE. those four texts manage to transmit such a heaviness behind each syllable it strikes the descended monarch mute. all her life had someone inquired concerning where she belonged , eyes would stare vacuously into the abyss. whereas by all intents and purposes , she was SKAIKRU due to her locality of birth , but never had they existed as her people. one’s community does not cast out a mere child for the offence of solely being born. it was possible she discovered her footing amongst the ranks of the TRIGEDAKRU MILITIA , but without lincoln , she felt much more like an immigrant standing in their ranks. and as for WONKRU , well that was naught than a blackened remembrance. leaving a girl searching for a sense of belonging more adrift than she ever had afore. SO WHO WOULD SHE BE ?? hues cast low upon the planet. a rock balanced midst the stars covered in all kinds of flora , ecosystems , and life. would it be here she would find her resolution ?? find her FAMILY ?? or would the happenings of the past be paralleled yet again leaving her even more fragmented than thought physically possible ?? it’s a query she cannot remedy. speculate , yes ; but tell for certain , no. so to answer diyoza’s question : ❛ i don’t know . . . ❜
