Can I say something weird?

(deltarune spoilers ahead)

Weird route of chapter 5 was short but no less disturbing. It was quite very extremely disturbing in fact, from beggining till the end. But i still did it and i still messed up my save files, and i wonder how much effect it will have.

One thing I've been thinking of is how this will affect Susie specifically. Her two friends just disappear, and she's the last one who saw both of them and no one else in town was around. Granted, Sans was there, and we did get a bread that most likely left a trace at the shore. So all Susie will have left of us will just be breadcrumbs. And this will affect her oh so badly. And i'm worried what will happen when we reemerge on the other side (of that happens, i'm assuming sth like that will be the case but honestly who knows), in chapter 7, skipping a whole chapter, a whole chunk of time during which we are simply absent from Susie's and Ralsei's side. Will we even get to see them?

Well, the one good thing about weird route is that we saw Rudy, very much alive and not high up on a ladder..

deltarune chapter 5 (SPOILERS ahead)

I couldn't not draw something since the new chapter came out and i'm quite surprised the first thing i drew isn't weird route related..

This is very eye-strainy, cause i can't live without saturated colours.

And it's a dump more than anything, of some of the most memorable things for me in the game. Or the most funny ones. Like Susie's face from the ice cream stand and Ralsei's pissed off one. Also, have you ever thought about what your favourite shop in the game is? Mine is definitely the Cliff's shop now.

The chapter itself was quite something, again a peak experience, somehow beating all the previous chapters and being even better. The 2d platformer segment definitely contributed to that, the perspective shift is just SO good. I do wonder if that mechanic will come back, just like the climbing one came back..

Besides that, i can't single out anything, cause the whole experience was beautiful. Honestly i though that the festival segment would be much longer but nope. I do very much hope that Rudy's fine and the call Noelle got was just part of the dubious plans that Kris/Knight/Carol/??? have.

Loved the lesbian arc though.

Oh, and Ralsei hater arc, loved that too.

She's been going through such an emotional whirlwind and i couldn't not draw at least some of it. (ignore my own scribbled commentary in the image if u can, i was still high on emotions when i wrote that)

(if ure reading my rambling for some reason, careful, i might write a SPOILER or two up ahead so if u haven't read, go read the manga first, it deserves all the love and more)

I'm pretty late to the party of Witch Hat Atelier manga, but better late than never, and i'm extremely glad i read it cause, gods, it's so good. The artstyle was catching right from the beginning, the line word used to give shading and flow makes the manga look like it's one of those medieval paintings w hatching - which is very in line with the story and setting. Another catchy thing for me was the mechanics of the magic - (a)gotta love an elaborate system with preset ground rules that can be exploited in various ways (ig that's what's called engineering lol, can u tell i'm doing a degree in that).

For example, i adore how their sylph shoes work - just knock them together, the circle closes and the spell activates, it's so simple and so elegant... but also so goofy haha. The story engrossed me around the middle of current chapters, when some characters started returing and when some questions received some answers.. Tell you what, when i first read the word Silverwood, i thought it was some parasite-esque organism, probably because it sound like silverfish (and those guys are usually someone u wouldn't want to see in your house). And guess what, turns out, it is a parasite indeed, a very messed up one at that, the concept of how it survives is one of my favourite ones from the manga and also one of the saddest ones in general:,). But i'm looking forward to writing and drawing more on that regard, and on all other regards because the whole of the 95 existing chapters can only be described as - g o r g e o u s. And i'll be quietly and impatinetly waiting for more.
