This is a side blog, not a roleplay account (though asks of that nature are welcome).
I will be posting exclusively about The Freak Circus (TFC) and it's characters. 90% of the time it's probably going to be some unusual kink, so be warned.
If you're under the age of 18 please do not look at my blog nor any of my posts (or anything related to TFC).
If you recognize me, don't tell anyone.
Any rude or irrelevant asks will be ignored.
EDIT: I feel I should specify that we are a system, and any roleplay-esque posts, replies, or comments made by this account are probably written by the Doctor.
Just the idea of Doctor possibly being obsessed with us already but not as clingy and lovey as Pierrot does something to me.
Imagine that his heart is full and bursting as Pierrot but he isn’t as in your face. I mean, he’s already touchy and gets REALLY close to us in his tent

Something about Jester being really soft and "motherly" with the other troupe members makes me jealous on a spiritual level, I think. It makes my heart ache and yearn in a way I can't explain. I'm sitting here wishing I was Pierrot in that last thing I reblogged.
Need more than TT putting me in a collar. I need him fingering the folds of my brain until my body goes into shock then he does what he wants with me regardless if I’m conscious or not
This with him and Doctor, honestly. The latter is definitely the one who'd crack your skull open for a peek, but it's Ticket Taker who has to do all of the work or risk having your brain being eaten entirely..
This is part four (4) of “You Turned Into a Monster, The Circus Doesn’t Know What To Do”.

Warnings!!! Fluff, some suggestive stuff, some things might sound sexual (they aren’t).

You’ve been here for a few months now.
Pierrot has been clingier than ever. He doesn’t let you out of his sight, always has you in the audience of his shows, watches you from the shadows to make sure no one hurts you, he has you in his arms whenever he can.
Harlequin continues to be the bitch he always is, but he’s your bitch and you love. He has been nicer than he usually is though. It’s a bit odd, but you are happy that he’s being nicer to you.
Jester lets you do pretty much whatever you want for work for the circus. He pats you on the head a lot, whenever he passes by you he pats your head, whenever he talks to you he pats you head, just being near you he pats you head. He will fix your uniform randomly, then pat your head.
Ticket Taker will randomly walk over and just stand there when he has free time. He likes to be around you, to watch you do whatever you are doing at that moment. He also made you your own ticket, just one that is only for you.
Doctor loves to have you watch over his experiments and show you his newest medical instrument. He will constantly invite you into his tent to show you new things and experiment on you. He is extremely gentle with his experiments on you, making sure you are comfortable while he runs his experiments.

“Pierrot please get off me…” You mutter, trying to do your work so Jester won’t scold you. Pierrot is laying on your back while you are working and he won’t get off, making it so fucking difficult to do your job.
“Do you not love me, my dear?” He sounds devastated, tightening his grip on you. He doesn’t want to let you go, he wants to hold you forever.
“I love you, but I need to do my job.” You explain, turning in his hold to face him. You put your hands on his chest and push, trying your hardest to push him off you.
Harlequin comes up behind you, pinning you against Pierrot and himself. He leans down to whisper to you.
“Jester will understand.” He picks you up, causing Pierrot to growl and tighten his grip on your middle. You are now being crushed in between two huge monsters with unbelievable strength.
“No-!” You try to protest, but someone cuts you off.
“Pierrot, Harlequin. Let [[name]] go.” It’s Jester, he sounds so tired.
Harlequin groans in annoyance as he drops you. You yelp in fear. Pierrot swiftly catches you, gently setting you down.
Jester sighs heavily, pointing at the entrance to your tent.
“Get out.”
The two pout and sulk as they leave your tent. Jester turns to you, putting his hand on your head. He pets you as if you were a cat.
“You alright?” He asks, fixing your shirt with one hand so he can keep petting you with his other hand.
“Yeah, just.. Just feeling a little squished.”
“I bet. Sorry about those two.” He apologizes, fixing your hair and smoothing out the new wrinkles in your outfit.
“It’s all good.” You smile, a little flustered by him caring for you so sweetly.
“The Doctor would like to see you, dear. He has a new thing to talk to you about.” Jester gently grabs your arm to lead you to the Doctor's tent.
You happily walk with Jester to Doctor's tent. You tell him about your favorite things about your job while walking. The walk isn’t far, your tent was put quite close to Doctor’s tent.
“Here you are, [[name]].” Jester opens the tent for you to enter, gently ushering you in.
“Sweetie! Come in, come in!” Doctor sounds excited, he must have something new that he’s been wanting for a few years now.
Jester quickly leaves to continue working and rehearsing.
You sit down in the chair to be strapped down so the Doctor can strap you down, but he doesn’t. He goes on with his usual check up things without forcing you to stay put.
(QUICK DISCLAIMER!!! I AM NOT A NURSE, I AM NOT A DOCTOR, THIS WILL BE VERY INCORRECT BUT PLEASE BARE WITH ME!! I AM WINGING IT :,,,,,,,,,,,C )
“How are you feeling, sweetie?” He asks, putting a blood pressure cuff on your bicep.
“A little stressed, but that's normal for a job like this.” You answer as you watch him work. “You’re not strapping me down?”
“No, no. You are always so good for me, so I won’t strap you down.” He asks you to take deep breaths for him while he puts his stethoscope on your chest and back, listening.
“Sweet.” You whisper to no one in particular, proud of yourself for being such a good patient.
“Now,” Doctor starts, walking into the darkness of his tent. “I have a little something for you, sweetie.”
“Ohh! Exciting!” You clasp your hands together, excited to see what he has for you.
He comes back with a book in his hands. When he places it in your lap and adjusts the light, you notice that it's a book about your favorite animal. It’s a thick book too, textbook sized book all about your favorite animal.
After letting you look it over for a little while, he grabs your hand, placing something in it.
It’s a mini, hand sewn by Doctor, plush of your favorite animal. It’s so incredibly goofy looking that you can’t help but laugh in delight. You love it so incredibly much, it’s so perfect.
“Thank you, Doc!” You try to suppress your laughter, but you just can’t help it. It’s too silly, too cute!
“I..” You interrupt yourself with laughter. “I love it so much!”
“I’m glad you love it, sweetie! I made it just for you.” He holds your hands in his, the mini plushie cradled in your hands.
Doctor loves making things for you, they all do. Every single one of those boys have given you so many different handmade gifts, your entire tent is full of them.
“Doctor, have you seen-” Ticket taker pauses, spotting you as he enters the Doctor’s tent.
“Ah, there you are, [[name]].” He walks further into the tent, standing beside you. “I have something for you. I spent a while on it.”
He looks up at Doctor, a silent request to take you away to have his turn at spending time with you.
Doctor sighs, ultimately letting Ticket Taker take you away. He has the entire day with you anyway, so he can share today.
Ticket Taker has a secure hold on your hand as he leads you to the ticket booth. There, on the desk in the booth is a new ticket. A [[your color]] colored ticket. You remember seeing Pierrot and Harlequin have their own special tickets to invite people to their shows. You had seen Ticket Taker with his own two different special tickets before too. You had been jealous about not having one yourself.
He picks it up and hands it to you.
“For you, my dear [[name]].” Your fingers brush as you take the ticket from him. You notice that his mask is a little redder than usual. He’s flustered.
You accept the ticket with enthusiasm, ecstatic to have your own ticket. You’re very own ticket. One that Ticket Taker took great care to make absolutely perfect.
As you look over the ticket, he grabs your free hand, bringing it to his lips. He kisses your knuckles softly, he can barely look at you. He’s so embarrassed. It’s so cute.
You pocket the ticket along with the mini plushie and wrap your arms around his shoulders. You pull him into a gentle but loving hug. Getting your own ticket means so much to you, more than he might ever know.
You feel so incredibly loved and cherished at the circus. More than you ever have in your entire life. It’s like having five extremely loving boyfriends, yet you guys have yet to actually establish that you are to each other.

A/N: Holy moly. That took so fucking long to write. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! But I did it!! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Part five (5) is being renamed to part 4.5. I know I’m doing a lot of name changes to it, but it’s the second ending to this series (we aren’t done btw), and I want it to flow well. So I think I’ll do the more fluffy things as part five (5), part six (6), part seven (7) part eight (8), etc, and the angst parts as part 5.5, part 6.5. 7.5, 8.5 etc. That way It’s easier to find the fluff if you just want that or the angst if you just want that.
You Turned Into a Monster, The Circus Takes You In.
This is part three (3) to” You Turned Into a Monster, The Circus Doesn’t Know What To Do”.
—--------
You’ve been here for a few days, the circus members have been taking turns watching, comforting, and taking care of you.
This new life is so confusing, and it’s hard to come to terms with.
Doctor has been examining you, trying to figure out how this happened. This the first case he has ever heard of of a human turning into a monster.
He has been careful while doing his examinations, as per your and Pierrot’s request.
There has yet to be an answer to how this has happened.
Pierrot has been extra clingy, the second he is free from his duties he is clinging to you. Though, some days he tries to push you away, not wanting to get too close. In case.. something happens.. again.
Harlequin has been staying away, but he watches you from the shadows. Pierrot growls at him whenever he gets too close to you. It breaks your heart a little.
At your first dinner together they kept trying to feed you human flesh, but you almost threw up at the thought. You can’t handle eating what you once were. They accepted that you can’t eat humans, so they feed you [[your favorite food]] instead.
Living in the circus is better than expected. They are actually quite accepting and supporting of so many of your preferences.
Jester is starting to warm up to you, as you are one of them now. You are no longer a pesky human, so you are allowed to exist near him comfortably.
Ticket Taker is indifferent to you, he always has been. He seems more willing to talk to you though. He is opening up more.
Doctor is so much more interested in you now. He loves having a new problem to solve.
—-------
“So… What will I do now?” You ask, looking at the five circus workers.
“What do you mean, [[name]]?” Jester turns to you, setting a plate down on the table.
“Like.. as a job? I can’t be a barista anymore.”
Jester is silent for a while, setting the table. He sits down next to you, giving you all of his attention.
“We plan on having you join our circus. You are a monster now, so you can’t work a normal job.” He explains, placing his hand over yours.
“Will I have to perform?” You ask hesitantly, not very confident in your ability to perform on stage.
“Not unless you want to.” He rubs his thumb over your knuckles. “You can do something else to help the circus.”

A/N: Sorry, everyone, leaving you on a cliff hanger. Part 4 will be the ending. This is really short, sorry about that...... 😅 There might be a part five……..
You Turn Into a Monster, The Circus figures Out What To Do
This is part two (2) to “You Turn into a Monster, The Circus Doesn’t Know What To Do”.
—-------
Pierrot comes back into your room, gently grabbing your arm. You look up at him as he tugs on your arm lightly, trying to get you to go with him.
“My love, come with me.” He speaks softly, his tone worried.
He pauses, seeing your face bleeding. He immediately drops your arm and quickly leaves to get Doctor.
Now, everyone is in your room again. Doctor using your bandages to bandage your face, Jester and Ticket Taker stand in front of your door. Pierrot stands beside your bed, staring at you with such worry in his eyes. Harlequin stares out your balcony door.
“Why did you scratch your face, sweetie?” Doctor questions, cleaning your scratches.
You don’t answer.
“Hm.” He hums, carefully bandaging your face, making sure you’ll still be able to see.
You don’t look at anyone, yet you keep glancing at your mirror.
Jester sighs mid conversation with Ticket Taker. You can hear a little of their conversation.
“Pierrot’s pet has become one of us.” Jester mutters, sounding displeased.
“It’s quite strange, what will we do with them?” Ticket Taker looks toward you, staring at your new horns.
You can’t make out Jester’s reply, Doctor speaking drowns out his voice.
“Don’t scratch at yourself anymore, sweetie. You’ll do more damage than you mean too.” He rests his huge hands on yours, making them seem tiny in comparison.
You notice your hands are bigger than they used to be. Same with your entire body. You grew an entire foot. You grew an entire foot OVERNIGHT.
“Mhn.” You look away, staring at one of your plushies.
You glance up at the sound of a bell jingling.
Harlequin has moved to the foot of your bed. His staring is making you nervous.
He leaves just as quickly as he appeared, going back to staring out of the window.
His behavior is so weird. You’ve never seen him act like this before. He isn’t even antagonizing Pierrot, so something is clearly wrong. It worries you.
You move to the middle of your bed, about to hide under your blanket. Then you see the blood on your pillow. It must’ve come from your horns. Growing all of a sudden of course would make you bleed a lot.
Pierrot notices you staring at the bloody pillow. He almost immediately grabs it and leaves the room to go clean it. Jester and Ticket Taker move so he can leave the room.
You loudly sigh, grabbing a big plushie and hiding under your blanket. You don’t know what to do. You don’t know why this happened, or really how this happened.
—-------
You wake up, not remembering falling asleep.
You aren’t home anymore. This is all your stuff, but not your home. This is a circus tent. One you don’t recognize.
When you sit up, Harlequin immediately turns to you. He quickly makes his way to you, staring you down. He doesn’t speak, not yet at least.
“Harlequin?” You mumble, your head killing you.
“Are you…. alright?” He asks, looking unsure. His demeanor makes you uncomfortable, you have never seen him so… unsettled? Confused? You can’t find the right word, but he is acting so weird. You don’t like it.
“Mhn.. Maybe..?” You put a hand to your head, your head hurts a lot. You’ve got a really bad headache.
Harlequin stands up, reaching for your water bottle. He hands it to you.
“You will live with us now..Jester decided that.” He tells you, sitting on the bed at your feet.
You chug the water, processing that information, then promptly choking on your water. You almost drop your water bottle, swallowing the water in your mouth before speaking.
“..........What.”
You stare at him, he stares at you.
“You became a monster,” he looks away. “You can’t be a barista anymore. No one will accept you.”
“But.. why?” You whisper, your hands resting on the top of your water bottle, pushing it into the bed. You try not to cry. This isn’t the life you want.
“Humans don’t like monsters. We aren’t like them, and they hate us for it.” He looks over at you, a look of surprise on his as tears start to run down your face. He understands, but is a little surprised to see you cry. He has never seen you cry before.
“This is so.. so.. so stupid! I don’t want to be like this! I want to be human again!” You sob, finally cracking and letting it out. Harlequin doesn’t know what to do. He isn’t used to comforting people.
“Uhhm..” He moves your water bottle out the way, grabbing your arm. He pulls you in a hug, awkwardly rubbing your back.
You sob in his arms, you can’t believe that you have become a monster. This is an impossible thing, right? This is one of your worst nightmares.
You Turn Into a Monster, The Circus Doesn’t Know What To Do
—---------
Since when did you have horns?
Since when did you have such pale and sickly skin?
Since when did you… become a monster?
—---------
You wake up in your home, but you aren’t alone.
The entire circus is in your home. Everyone.
Usually it’s Pierrot and Harlequin, but Ticket Taker, The Doctor, and Jester are here too.
The way they are looking at you makes your heart pound, it makes your chest hurt. Not in the good way either. They look… Unhappy? Maybe scared? You haven’t seen them look like that before. It’s scary.
All of a sudden your head is hurting, really badly. It feels as if someone is drilling into your skull with the biggest and most painful drill possible.
Your hands fly to your head as you curl into yourself, trying to get rid of the pain. That’s when you feel them. Two horns. Two horns.. On your head. TWO HORNS ON YOUR HEAD???
You immediately start to pull at them, trying to take them off. They won’t come off. Your heart beats harder, trying to escape and run away from this nightmare.
Hands gently grab yours, pulling them away from your horns. You look to see who those hands belong to, it’s Pierrot. He looks worried, extremely worried.
He looks ready to cry, and maybe run away. He doesn’t really know how to feel. His love has become a monster like him. His dear, his world, his love, his favorite human, his human is now a monster. His love will have to suffer like he has.
You look past him at the others.
Harlequin is unsettingly quiet. He doesn’t know how to deal with this, he’s staring at your balcony door. You worry he might run away from your home and now look at you ever again. He’s looking everywhere but you.
You can’t read Jester’s expression, but his body language shows he doesn’t seem happy. He never really liked you, so it makes sense he wouldn’t be happy about this. But truthfully? He is scared. Scared about how this happened. Scared about what this means for his circus and family. Scared about what this means for you. Scared about what this means for Pierrot.
Ticket Taker stares at you for a few minutes, then looks away and won’t look at you again. Instead, he looks over at Jester and Harlequin, observing them. He glances over every once in a while to check on Pierrot, but doesn’t know what to do with you. He isn’t prepared for something like this. This isn’t something he has had to deal with before.
The Doctor stares at you, intensely. He moves closer, so quickly you might have thought he teleported if it weren’t for his footsteps. He’s being cautious, yet he is excited. A human became a monster overnight? That's new. Very new. He’s never heard of such a thing. That’s something he would like to inspect and experiment with. Only if Pierrot will let him get close.
Pierrot is usually right by your side, but now, he sits farther. An arms length away. Not even he is willing to get too close. It makes you feel odd. They are acting so odd.
You glance over at your mirror, having to take a double take as you don’t recognize yourself.
You have horns, two of them. They are a dark grey, and curl back towards your head. They look like goat horns. Your skin is now a pale, sickly, paper white color. The same as the circus. It’s scary. Really fucking scary.
No wonder they can’t look at you.
You’re one of them now.
You are a monster.
You aren’t human anymore.
You can’t look at yourself either.
You look away from the mirror, covering your face with your hands.
The monsters look between each other, trying to decide what to do. No one is talking, all unsure of what to do.
Soon, they file out of your room to talk, leaving you alone in your room. Alone with your thoughts.
You start to claw at your face, doing more damage then you meant because of your new claws. Blood slowly trickles down your face and arms, dripping into your lap and bed.
The last I'd checked, there was only one Freak Circus fic about transforming a human into a monster, and it was a small part of a bigger oneshot collection. While it was pretty good, I do feel disappointed in the lack of similar content.
So I've cooked up something of my own, and I hope that posting my first proper TFC fic here will help inspire others to write ones with the content I crave.
It's kind of long, I tried to split it into multiple parts for readability's sake. I'm not entirely proud of it but I'm too tired to write something else right now. I still hope you enjoy.
You weren't a fool. At least, that's what you'd hoped.. There had been other people you'd seen with color-coded tickets: Green, Red, Pink.. All for special viewings, one could assume. But yours was different too, something outside that range of colors.
For the longest time, you'd been rejecting any offer of a "free ticket" with the assumption that they were just trying to trick you. As much as you liked the idea of a free show, it didn't feel safe to go just yet. All the news reports of people going missing ever since the Circus rolled around were enough to make you put it off...
And yet, at the same time it had caught your fixation like nothing else. It was something different for once, a sudden change in a town where nothing interesting ever happened.
Before you knew it, you'd stopped crunching paperwork in the middle of the night in order to study up on everything you could about this so-called Freak Circus. Anything of note that you could find online about it was swiftly printed and posted on your corkboard.
At first you had thought against it, having felt a pang of anxiety the moment your search started. You were long past that part though, even with the feeling of eyes burning more intensely into the back of your head with each little bit of the story you piece together.
You only stopped when you realized the printer was jammed. Damn.. That's a whole chunk of your research ruined..!
But your mind still kept wandering as you sat alone in your chair. There wasn't much else to focus on aside from the things scattered across your desk. You really ought to clean it up some time, you thought..
There was no better time than right now though, seeing as you were far past the point of a peaceful sleep. As you started rearranging and sorting things, you were reminded of the ticket you'd finally, begrudgingly taken.
It was the whole reason you'd been awake tonight.. Your white ticket.
You squinted at the monochrome paper in your hands, looking at it from odd angles, shining your desk light on it a little differently- As if it had some kind of secret or puzzle attached to it that you just weren't getting.
The discussions online had mentioned all the other colors, but not once did you find anything about a white ticket. Any average person would've assumed it was a counterfeit of some kind, but your environment had bored you out of your mind- Enough to make you skeptical over just about anything.
Eventually you came to a conclusion as you observed the ticket: If you can't document anything else through online means, then it was time to do the dirty work yourself. You'd be going to the Circus tonight, even if it was way past their opening hours.
-
The moon was at it's peak by time you'd finally arrived, the grin of the waning crescent almost taunting you from behind black clouds as you wandered around.
Somehow, the Circus looked a whole lot creepier without others around. It's a liminal affect that you're acutely aware of as you explore the outside. By time you round to the front gate, you start to feel foolish for having brought wire cutters.
The entrance was wide open.. But you hadn't seen the employee that was standing there until it was too late.
"What do we have here, another visitor?"
A vaguely British accent chimed, and soon enough you could put a face to the voice- Or rather, a mask. At the entrance, a pair of blue and white eyes blinked at you from the darkness, almost looking like they were a part of the shadows themselves. But soon, the owner of those odd eyes revealed himself.
Seeping out from the shadows was a slim man dressed in fine azure attire. He adjusts his tie and tips his top hat rather politely as he comes to face you, but.. The monochrome mask he wears puts you off. It's black and white colors were in evenly-split halves, and it's eyeholes were upturned in faux glee.. And lastly the sly, grinning mouth made it seem like he was planning something.
"The Circus isn't open to any more visitors tonight, so if you would please come back tomorrow night.."
The strange man began as if he were repeating straight from a script, but soon he paused. He looked you up and down in silent contemplation before a light of recognition shone in his gaze.
"Ah, I apologize. You're the owner of the white ticket, aren't you?"
How did he know that? You hadn't spoken a word yet before he held the palm of his hand up, stopping you in your tracks before you could even open your mouth.
"I've heard all about you and your curious mind. You're the type to dig deep into issues that aren't of your concern.. As irritating as that is, I'm willing to answer any of your questions in private."
He explained rather matter-of-factly, waving for you to follow him as he turned his back to you. There were alarms blaring in your mind, telling you that this was all too suspicious and that you should just turn and run- But the other half of you starved for an explanation, and who were you to reject his offer? There were going to be answers served right to you on a silver platter..
So you followed along, seeing him almost as a light among the shadows casted by the surrounding tents. Without him, the darkness would've grasped at you and devoured you whole.
You didn't know it yet, but you'd already been caught; And the moment you stepped in, there would be no way back out.
-
You quietly glanced around as you followed the man, unable to keep your eyes from wandering- Even with the dim light of the various stands. Both the silence and the darkness were so oppressive, it was creepy..
But you supposed that was the entire point. This is a Circus of horrors, after all.. Even then, the way that the lights ominously flickered just as your guide passed them felt like a bit much. You were beginning to question things at the back of your mind again, starting with why you saw several different eyes blinking at you, just out of view. When you whipped your head around to get a better look, they'd already been blinked away.
"Keep your head forward, guest. I wouldn't want to see you trip over something."
The man's smooth voice broke through your thoughts, and you quickly listened to him without any objection. You could've sworn you saw his grin widen, or some strange black drool dripping from his mouth, but he turned his head forward again too quickly for you to really see.
A part of you considered asking where you were going, but judging from how strict he seemed, you knew he wouldn't be willing to answer any questions until you got where you needed to be. It wasn't like you could really say anything either way; The chilling environment had locked up your throat.
Eventually he stopped at the mouth of a tent, striped with the same azure that he wore. He bowed slightly as he opened the entrance wide for you. It was here that you found..
It was too late to back down. The thought that it was too late crept into your mind, hungrily digging it's claws into your brain.
And suddenly you didn't feel afraid, not as you stepped into the inky blackness of the tent. He followed you inside, your fears and the famished glares of the other monsters being left just outside.
-
Once the entrance closed behind him, the lights of the attraction had flashed on. It made you stop and blink for a moment, struggling to adjust your eyes to the new lighting.
The warmth of the artificial lights contrasted greatly with the cool colors of the tent, and it was pleasing enough to the eye. You'd have been right to assume that this was his tent, but the many mirrors decorating each and every side struck you as strange.
The well-dressed man gently brushed his shoulder against yours as he passed you; It felt cold, as if he were a ghost. As he walked ahead, you could see that neither reflections on either side matched what he looked like. On one end you could make out a pale man that looked nigh identical to him, and you could've assumed that's just what he looked like without the costume, but.. On the other end was some shadowy creature, the silhouette of some shifting monster that was too difficult to define.
He stopped somewhere in the middle of the tent before fully facing you, and you could see his eyes glowing again behind the mask. It's as if he were ordering you to step closer..
"Now.. You'll learn everything you need to. But, I'm going to need something from you in return."
The man began- Though at this point, you were certain he wasn't human at all. He silently instructed you to step forward with just a gesture of his hand.. But before that, curiosity crawled through you again.
You leaned a bit, getting a look at what was behind the mirrors- Trying to see if there was anyone else in here, taking part in the illusion. When there was nothing, you looked back at the sharply-dressed man to see that he'd folded his arms behind his back, waiting.
He'd been oh-so patient with you up until this point, but even through his façade, you could see that his patience was beginning to wane. His head cocked to the side as he silently watched you, his ever-present smile mocking you.
"It's just us, you know.. I suppose I'll start with the question that you've had the moment I revealed myself. I am the Ticket Taker, and yes, that ticket you had does mean something."
The Ticket Taker explained, but it made you pause. That ticket you had? You quickly checked your pockets for it, and sure enough, they were emptied. When you looked back up at him, he seemed amused.
From behind his back he procured the ticket, right between his pointer and his middle as if he were proudly showing off a card he knew you'd picked. An entertaining trick for sure, but it was odd to imagine that a man so finely dressed as him was also a pickpocket.
"Don't be rude, now. Come here. Do not make me talk to you from across the room, my special guest."
At that, you finally stepped closer. As you walked, you could see that your reflections were different too. Instead of a monster though, you only saw yourself.
You were in different clothes, and a different age each time. It was your past that was walking beside you, only becoming more recent as you continued on. Surely it couldn't have just been a trick of the light..
Once you stopped right in front of him, you realized just how tall he really was. The masked man was easily six feet tall or more, you craned your neck up just to meet his eyes.
"That's much better, my special guest. But.. I suppose that won't be a fitting title for you, not for much longer at least."
He mused, allowing an ominous edge seep into his words. You didn't really understand, even as he moved aside to reveal to you the mirror he'd been blocking from your view.
Your eyes tried to follow him as he moved behind you, but suddenly he was gone. There's no way any average person could've moved that fast, and the suspicious half of your mind went off again because of it.
As you looked all around you, the thought settled in that you truly were alone now. Perhaps you always had been..
-
A mix of curiosity and anxiety began swirling in your gut again as you explored the tent on your own. And once more, you were going against what the Ticket Taker had wanted..
When you backtracked through the hall of mirrors again, you couldn't help but notice that the reflections that were previously there were now blacked out- As if someone had erased them entirely. The image in your mind made your skin crawl, the idea that everything you were could be blacked out like words on a page.
You eventually made it back to the entrance of the tent, but quickly realized that it had completely disappeared. It didn't make any sense- None of this did! You felt panicked as something blue flashed by, just out of the corner of your eye..
"How stubborn you are- Or perhaps you're simply dull! I lead you right to what you wanted, and you didn't even look. Must I force your face right into it?"
It was that same voice again, but something was different about it. For the first time, the Ticket Taker had raised his voice at you- Sounding almost as if he were growling. His voice made you shrink back, as if his words alone were threatening your life.
When you turned to look at him, he was a mere reflection in the mirror, standing over you like you'd been cornered. You couldn't even see yourself in it as he reached for you. An invisible force grabbed you instead, forcing you up onto your feet as he mimed dragging you off by the arm.
You could feel frustrated claws digging into your skin now, and your feet kept dragging against the ground as you were moved against your will by something you couldn't even see. It was dizzying how quickly things were passing by now, the lights flickering as you were pulled closer and closer to the one mirror you hadn't looked at.
The sounds of glass shattering and screams that didn't belong to you followed close behind, as if some reckless monster was chasing you down. Sounds and sights became too much to process, enough so that your own thoughts had been completely drowned out by everything that surrounded you.
-
The next thing you knew, you were on your knees, trembling as you held yourself up with your hands. You watched as the tips of your fingernails sharpened into claws befitting of a predator, and a darkness slowly spread up the skin of your arms. You felt cold, confused, as if you weren't entirely there.
Your mind drifted from one place to the next, feeling your head grow distant the more your body changed. It was hard to ignore it, even when you couldn't outright see what was happening.
You could tell that you were something different than before, someone split apart from who you used to be. Barely, you could remember that you had been human. But now you weren't so sure.
When you had looked up, you could see the rest of the tent, but it was as if you were looking through glass. The place seemed a bit smaller, but really, you were actually bigger, more monstrous- The horns you felt growing their way through your skull were nothing less than unnatural. It had to have been another illusion, but the weight on your head felt very real.
By all accounts you should have been afraid. But that human level of fear had long left you, it had been overwritten, scribbled out.
Whether it was your mind playing tricks on you or not, all the questions you had about what was happening had one answer.
You used to be real, but now you simply weren't. Instead, you'd become nothing more than the reflection of a monster that your master had thought up.
There wasn't anything wrong about this answer that you could think of. Really, you never have to eat or work again- At least until he requests your aid with something.
Now you could just sit, you could simply exist and not worry about anything. Just being there to spook all the guests was enough, it's exactly what you were there for- What he needed you for.
It was something different, and you couldn't have been more content.
