Naturally, Violet had put together a bouquet for her older sister, Odette, for the Flower Festival! It was something Violet did yearly, mainly because the Flower Festival was her favorite festival of the year. She got to put together so many bouquets and pick a lot of flowers she wanted to give to everyone! And this year was definitely no exception!

Violet smiled softly as she stood outside of Odette’s door, her bouquet in hand. Violet had chosen purple alstromerias as the centerpiece, and all around them were pink gerberas and a combination of pink and purple lisianthuses. She could only hope that Odette would like the arrangement!

She knocked on the door, waiting patiently there before the door opened.

“H-Hello,” Violet greeted with a smile, “U-Um…H-Happy Flower Festival!”

Odette was in the middle of reading a cook book in her room when she hears a knock on her doors. She’s been busy lately, and she even forgot about the Flower Festival. Thankfully she didn’t come unprepared. Weeks ago, during the Cherry Blossom Festival, she bought kerchiefs for her sisters that she hasn’t given yet! Now was the perfect time to give them-- starting with the visitor she sees as she opens the door, a smile immediately forming as she sees Violet with a beautiful bouquet in her hands.

“Oh, you!! Come here!” Odette took the flowers and pulled her sister in too for a hug. She was so cute and thoughtful, Odette wanted to keep squeezing her if not for her own gifts!

“Hold on just a second, Violet--” She goes back to her room, fetching a kerchief with cherry blossom flowers stitched in it, as well Violet’s name. Then, she takes the small present she prepared after acquiring daisies from Fugue Forest. It was a necklace with a pressed daisy, a simple flower, but lovely nonetheless. 

She comes back to the door, presents in hand as she shows them to Violet. “This one’s for you-- I had them all made, you know. One for you, me and Lily ♪ Happy Flower Festival, dearest Violet ♥”

[🐎] — Odette often made it habit to cook whenever she came to hang out at Georgia’s house, which was something the rancher never complained about. Being the host, she would usually feel more obligated to do those sorts of things herself, but Odette always made it clear that whenever she was in the kitchen, it was her baby, and there was no room for anyone else.

And Georgia was sure the other woman didn’t want her tendency for starting fires messing anything up…

So the redhead was content to just sit back and watch as Odette worked her culinary magic, mouth salivating at the sight of her all-time favorite dish, as she hopes some of that talent could rub off on her someday.

At Odette’s question, she looks away from the food and towards her. “Huh? Uh… o-oh, Neil? Whadd’ya mean ‘what’s going on’? We’re just… datin’. We do the sorts of things normal couples do, I guess.” She rubs her neck, “Well, whenever we can, anyway…”

Odette was both the most supportive and most against person when it comes to Georgia and her personal affairs. It was all out of love-- she loved her like her own sister, and she wanted her to hear not just support, but the needed truth slap whenever she needed it. She expected the same, of course. And for two headstrong gals with fire in their hearts? They needed a LOT of hard truth slaps.

So at Georgia’s answer to her question, she couldn’t help but be concerned. She knew that tone. “I’m returning the question-- what do you mean by whenever you can?” It was more of a rhetorical question, really. She stopped chopping the garlic and turned to her friend, a brow raised.

“Oh, Gee-- are you both becoming too busy to have babe-time?” The term made her cringe, but she understood what it was like to be so in-love you end up using pet names for each other. “Don’t wait for me to drag both of your stubborn heads together--” She quickens her pace as she minces the garlic with practiced accuracy, sighing as she does. “--just kidding. On a serious note, it better not be another case of He-Who-Must-Be-Named.” She grimaced at the image of THAT guy. She had a knife in hand right o

[🐎] — The busy days never ended. Even after her conversation with Kana, and her subsequent decision to make a little more time for herself to relax and spend time with the people that mattered to her, work at the ranch and shop was still far too demanding for her to comfortably take any time off.

So she doesn’t have time to go around delivering flowers to her friends this year, which is why she pays a City Hall courier to do it instead. With this, everyone would be able to get their gifts on time! But Georgia would keep the snapdragon to herself, for a more special occasion…

For as long as Claire had been sailing the seas, she had never come across another fire mage. It was one of the things that made her feared as a pirate captain, but it was quite lonesome to be the only one with the ability and surrounded by water for miles on end. So, when Claire moved to Arcadia and found herself in the company of quite a few fellow fire mages, it was quite the relief and Claire was quick to make friends with them. 

Odette, one of those friends, had come along with Claire on her ship to try and fight some monsters for training out on the waters. Thanks to Odette’s help, Claire was able to take on a fairy that was most definitely stronger than her and won. However, Odette didn’t fair quite as well in her own battles, so when they got back to the mainland, Claire took Odette to the clinic (and got herself patched up a bit as well), making sure to foot the bill for their visits. 

On their way out, now healed and bandaged where healing needed more time, Claire turned to Odette with an apologetic look. 

“Sorry it didn’t go too well today. Wanna go get dinner? I’ll buy as apology for dragging you along with me out there.”

It was a spur of the moment decision to join Claire in her adventures out in the open seas. It was a completely new experience for Odette, but in that new experience, she experienced failure in the form of two dragons and an octopirate. She never should have underestimated the monsters in the ocean.

Embarrassingly enough, she had to be taken to the nurse’s and get treated by her own sister. She prided herself in being the less careless of the trio, but here she is now, injured and in need of some serious healing.

When all was said and done, Odette came out of the clinic all healed up, but she still felt tired. In the middle of reflecting on her mistakes, Claire spoke up and interrupted her thoughts.

“Oh, don’t worry about it. I wasn’t used to fighting in a boat and I got too carried away in the heat of the moment... I should have gone for the weaker monsters. It was interesting watching you fight, at least ♪” At Claire’s offer, Odette did not hesitate to agree. Normally she’d cook her own meals, but after today’s unsuccessful battles? She’d rather rest and leave the work to someone else.

“It’s not your fault-- but I’ll take you up on that offer. I don’t think I can took tonight.”

Though Violet no longer wished to live at the inn with her sisters, Lily was beyond joyful that Odette was here. Her cooking was just superb! Their business was already better then Odette had a hand in things. Less so when Lily did, unless her hand was on her lute.

She was caring for the strings of her instrument when Odette found her and she turned toward her sister with a smile.

“Oh my! They look absolutely delightful, Odette. I was just feeling a bit peckish.” Still carrying her lute, Lily walked gracefully toward one of the dining tables. “Maybe our stomachs are linked.” She giggled at the thought but then frowned. “Do you suppose Violet is hungry?”

Placing both glasses of fruit parfait down on the dining table, Odette was glad she could share this short break with her sister and thought she was doing a splendid job at keeping her company-- until of course a frown forms on the older Brunel, immediately worrying Odette.

Here it was. Another test for her. There was no stopping Lily from being the worrywart that she is, and Odette herself was just as concerned for their little sister. But if she allowed herself to get swept by this surge of worry, there would be two frowning Brunels in this table.

“I’m sure Violet is responsible enough to make sure she eats on time.” She tried to ease Lily’s worries while also backing up Violet, not wanting to favor one over the other. She didn’t know Violet’s partner personally, but surely, her sister picked a good man for herself? “And isn’t her boyfriend a doctor? I bet you they keep track of each other’s health regimen enough to both stay healthy he he. It’s cute if you think about it.”

Muffy didn’t often get a lot of time to relax in Arcadia, but she’d been rehearsing at Adonea Theatre that day, and had an early call time again the next morning. The theatre had graciously paid for her to have a night at the Inn, but she’d been too tired to even leave it. As it happened there was a singer performing at the inn that evening, and Muffy found it very easy to get lost in her dulcet tones.

As the performance came to an end Muffy couldn’t help but feel a little more positive, the singing had been nice and the entire atmosphere of the room just felt lighter. She sat, silently watching the people around her, tourists, possibly even other Arcadians, enjoying their time. Her attention turned at the sound of the voice, and she found it was the very girl that had been performing.

“Wonderful!” Muffy replied enthusiastically, “You have a really nice voice,” she continued, smiling brightly, “Do you do a lot of singing or…?”

“Oh, not anymore. I’m normally in the kitchen but today I finally decided to try and get back to it. Today is a sort of debut for me, in a way, he he.” Odette answered with shared enthusiasm, truly glad she appreciated her performance earlier.

“I might have to work on how I finish the performance, but failure is an experience in itself, I always say!” She pumps herself up, never one to let one small mistake keep her down. “Are you one of our guests here or are you just checking in? I’d like to think I most know of our tenants but you’re a new face.”

Offering a hand and a friendly smile, Odette introduced herself to the blonde beauty, hoping to be well acquainted with her, “I’m Odette Brunel, one of the sisters of this inn!”

While Violet lived away from home nowadays - with the questionable success that it seemed to bring - sometimes it didn’t seem like she was away at all. With Lily’s usual calls and visits and Odette’s occasional visits, Violet’s older sisters were a constant presence in her life. And while Lily’s consistent contact was honestly a bit suffocating, especially when Lily constantly fretted over Violet living on her own, Odette was a different story. 

Though her visits were always a surprise to Violet, even after all this time.

Violet jumped a little in surprise as she heard a knock at the door, her sister’s voice ringing out soon after. She paused for a moment before smiling, putting a bookmark in the book she had been reading (one of her favorites, Jane Eyre), and setting it down on a small end table beside her chair. Part of her wondered what Odette was visiting for, but the other part of her knew not to question it. After all, Odette and Lily both tended to drop by unannounced.

She quickly got up and scurried over to the door, opening the door with a smile, “Odette, h-hello! H-How are you?” She stepped aside so Odette could walk inside.

With Violet being nervous as ever, Odette couldn’t help but think how cute she is and give her a quick hug as soon she opened the door-- with one hand holding on to her gifts, she used her free arm to give her dearest sister a warm embrace. “Things have been wonderful! ♪” 

She breaks the brief hug and accepts the invitation to come inside, careful not to drop the food she brought along. “And by that, I meant nothing bad has happened so far. By the way, I hope you’re in the mood to eat cause I got you your favorite vegetables today! Sauteed with a good amount of lemon and butter, he he ♥”

While looking at the request board in Arcadia, Odette couldn’t help but notice ONE request in particular. She didn’t even need names to know who it was from and for who it was.

Those boys were being stupid again. Ugh.

So she takes a picture of the request and when she does see Kurt during one of his rounds and he delivers mail to the inn, she couldn’t help but bring it up.

“You know this will NEVER work, right?” Odette waved around a picture of Dirk’s request at his face, a look of disbelief on. “One, whoever accepts this would be shallow and like him just because he’s ‘hot’, Two, knowing that horse-freak, his ego will be boosted and he will like it AND whoever accepts for boosting said ego, and Three, they’ll go out for a while until they'll realize they’re not into horse-freaks and the horse freak himself would look for something more. Which results into a complete waste of time.”

She snaps her phone shut, grinning teasingly as she pokes Dirk with her phone.  “Besides,you should focus on finding a date for yourself instead, you’re not doing any better, he he ♪” Big words coming from someone who date him in the past, but they were long since pass that point of their lives.

Once more, at the Three Sisters’ Inn, Odette decided to have a performance early in the afternoon for their guests. She called for their attention and as the music starts, she started to sing.

Unlike her last performance, this time, she struggled instead at the beginning, unable to capture the attention of her audience.

The song was slow and melancholic, but as the song continues, it slowly turns into a more upbeat and encouraging tone. It was only then when Odette finally captured her audience’s attention, and with it, their appreciation.

Odette gained some confidence once everyone seemed to enjoy listening to her, and she got so into it, she unconsciously imbued magic into her song. Whoever is listening will feel peaceful and easy, their subconscious soothed by the magic from her music.

When the song came to an end and it was time to bow, she thanked all that listened with a warm smile, approaching each of them one by one for light chatter and personal gratitude.

“Thank you ♪ What did you think of the song? I picked it up from the mainland.” And it was a beautiful song that she personally enjoyed listening and singing along to. She was happy for the chance to share it to others.
