Golka is the the mate of Grommash Hellscream and the mother of Garrosh Hellscream. She was a ferocious raider in her own right and fought alongside Grommash and the rest of the Warsong against many Ogre settlements. She was critically wounded after a battle, and asked Grommash to grant a quick death, for mercy. Grommash, disgusted with her and the rest of the clan’s “weakness”, left her for dead and ventured forth on his own.

It’s a game that has characters written by people in modern time, and should have representation reflecting that if the creators want to have an inclusive fanbase. And don’t act like gay people have never existed: gay people were there, even in medieval times.

And let’s be real, Blizzard’s not exactly an cornucopia of well written characters anyway, so the least they could do is canonically introduce SOME characters as non-cis, well-written or otherwise.

I understand video game players getting defensive about “social justice activists” attacking their loved games, but by choosing to not admit that there is a problem in the representation of minorities in the games you play is a direct reflection of your refusal to stand up for minorities in real life.

You can jump on the “let’s attack the social justice side of tumblr” bandwagon all you want, but Blizzard is exploiting the market with no follow-through. They market to outsiders with pride and rainbows, but refuse to rock the boats of the current players and keep creating non-minority characters in the lore.

I don’t care actually about the sexualities of fictional characters, but I DO care about minorities being suppressed through a lack of representation in a game that is so widespread and influential.
