Maiev - putting the "owl" in "scowl" since before 10,000 BDP!
For the most part, I kept the eyeshadow pretty basic so it didn't overshadow the elven markings. Inspired by all the owl motifs in Warden gear, I went for a lot of sharp angles and long lines. I also played around with "drawing in" my lower lashes, mostly as a nod to the Warden cloak with all of its daggers.
On that note, I included a bonus photo of a separate eyeshadow look inspired by the Wardens. I wanted to do something more realistic and in-character for Maiev, but I also wanted to mess around with Warden colors and try out something a little more abstract, hence its inclusion!
The Wardens are known for their pragmatism and minimalist tendencies, so I dressed this set very simply. I took most of my inspiration from the Vault of the Wardens, which doesn't have too much in it other than owl figurines and dozens of prison cells. Naturally, an owl had to be my centerpiece. I offset it with a pair of arrows in place of a glaive and completed the set with a green banner. The candles are the only thing you won't find in the Vault, though there are a lot of them strewn around Wardens' Redoubt in Azsuna.
I want to point out my favorite detail since it's kind of easy to miss: the green backlighting. Though green is a traditional Warden color, I actually included it explicitly to evoke fel energies. The demon hunters were imprisoned in bright green cells in the Vault of the Wardens, so I'd like to imagine that there's one just off screen somewhere, hence the light (that said, I am completely in love with the inherent symbolism in having Maiev backlit by fel).

Figured there’s no better way to usher in 2022 than with a little arcwine ~
This look is a blend of quintessential Nightborne colors: purples, some pinks, and a bit of maroon (though there isn’t any blue). The backdrop also takes a lot of inspiration directly from Suramar’s color palette, with its vibrant orangey hues, deep purples, and a whole lot of sparkles.
I love the makeup look itself, but imo, the set here is the real winner. The (arc)wine bottles, cupcakes, barrel, and hanging plants all make this feel like a scene that takes place somewhere in the city’s vineyard. One of my most favorite details is the candelabra (though it’s hard to see in these photos) because the swirly design of its base is very similar to the sconces in the Nighthold.

I’ve practically been treating this tumblr like it no longer exists, but I think I’d like to start posting on it again (knowing FULL WELL that’s what I said last time and still didn’t post, oops).
So, here’s my most recent makeup look! It’s a redo of an oldie, but I wanted to come back to it because I’ve been carving my way through cosplays of some of the Horde races lately and I thought it’d be fun to do it again.
For this look, I took some loose inspiration from the blood elf crest and did gold graphic liner to evoke the phoenix at its heart with just a touch of fel green on top.

It’s that time of the tier! As always, here’s a bingo chart made up of the mechanics (and other various related raid shenanigans) that my guild fails ~ spectacularly ~ at.
I put in the “lifegripped off the edge by a priest” bit because I’ve been personally victimized by our priest too many times (seriously, he’s life-gripped me to the edge right before a knockback MORE THAN ONCE).

Ever since I first made my Ny’alotha Bingo chart I told myself I was going to do something similar for all following raid tiers. Nathria has been out for a few months, sooooo I figured it was about time to put something together!
Some of these ARE oddly specific (looking at you, Curse of Tongues), but I picked things that specifically related to my raid group and their fuck-ups. (As a healer, I have absolutely been personally victimized by people taking my dang infuser orbs).
It’s totally up to you how you choose to interpret “vivisected by Remornia”.

As some of you may know, I’ve been teasing the idea of making videos for a long time now. Months ago I posted a screencap of a video I’d recorded and announced that it would be released sometime soon, but I never followed through with the promise. After a lot of procrastination and deliberation, I’m really excited to announce that I have finally produced my first video and I’m sharing it with all of you! As my first foray into video editing, it’s obviously not as good as many content creators’ videos out there, but it’s a start and I’m determined to keep going.
To say a little bit about this video, I decided I’d start with recording my play-through of Ardenweald on the alpha (so spoilers - definitely don’t watch if you don’t want to know what happens!). It’s a fairly basic play-through of the zone, but I’m focusing primarily on reading all of the quest text, talking to NPCs to see what their flavor dialogue is, and discussing the story (although I’m screaming excitedly more than speculating here).
I don’t want to bore you with any unnecessary details, but I made both this video and one other - which cover the first two storylines in Ardenweald - and they’re both on my new YouTube channel so you can check them out if you want!
I haven’t been running around and exploring too much, but I’m taking some screenshots as I go and honestly, I’m so in love with the aesthetic of this whole zone.
The people in my dad’s raiding guild joke about yelling “BINGO!” every time someone dies a stupid death during raid so I actually made a bingo chart for them.
