that feeling when you see a grey haired man with bags and bags filled with medications dumping them into the disposal container at a pharmacy across the street from a hospital, and you know that someone close to him must have just died

VIETNAM. 1968. Pictures taken by Vietnam War veteran Sgt. C.R. Foster, ‘B’ Battery 1st LAAM Marines.
Part of the Vietnam Slide Project, a collaborative photobook including pictures soldiers took themselves while overseas. The Vietnam Slide Project also incorporate stories told by living veterans. It’s a chance not only for them to be heard after many, many years but also for their families and the people they loved to have a piece of them once they’re gone.

Dropped off 5 rolls of film to be developed and I can’t remember for the life of me what’s on each roll. They’ve been sitting around for a while. Pretty excited for that surprise of seeing what comes out when I get them back.
Just realized the film camera I bought has no light meter and is full manual. I’m kind of having anxiety rn thinking about learning light metering, setting settings, and missing shots. It’s a compact half-frame Olympus Pen S from the early 60s and I bought it off a seller on ebay located in Chubu Japan. I think it will be good though, to force myself to take the time to try to understand fstop & shutterspeed and do a little more than just take snapshots.
