The ceremony was beautiful--- As expected. Hal had been waiting for this day for years. But Alek had been waiting for this day for his entire life. The only thing more exciting than his own wedding day was his best friend’s. His brother had been the most important person in his life from the time they were toddlers. If Alek’s personality could be split into parts, it would be one part music, one part romance and one part Hal’s best friend. That’s just how it was; how it’d always been. Everyone in the family joked about it. How Alek would be the first one to cry at Hal’s wedding. They were right, of course. But in his defense, he wasn’t just watching his brother’s wedding. He was watching his best friend’s wedding as well. Two people he cared for more than life were vowing to spend their lives together. It was beautiful. It was perfect. It was better than he’d ever hoped.
By the time the ceremony ended, Alek was already stressing out about his speech. This was his moment. In every romance movie, there’s always the best friend who makes the funny yet emotional speech. But Alek didn’t exactly consider himself funny. He was a softie, a mush of emotions. He couldn’t joke about Gen or Hal because in his mind--- They were perfect. This speech was something he’d been writing since he was eleven. Yet, even now, even ten minutes before the big moment, he found himself re-writing it in one of the dressing rooms. “My best friend-- My brother. My... Hey guys. Did you know- Uhm. Sup dudes, does anyone-- No.” He mumbled the intros under his breath up until he heard the door squeak. His eyes widened, hoping to god it wasn’t time. Thankfully, his prayers were answered when Hal walked in. “Dude! What are you doing in here? Where’s Gen?”
