Against his will, Cassiusâ lips tugged into a full-blown grin at Stellanâs words. He couldnât help himself from grinning at the arrogance that Stellan possessed. It was something that he had grown to love about the other boyâit was still odd to think of that word ( love ), but he knew what he felt. Folding his arms over his chest and raising his brows to try and play it cool, though, Cassius fondly said, âVain even in death. You amaze me.â
âSomeone has to look after me, you should be honored that Iâm entrusting you with this task,â Stellan quipped with false haughtiness. âWhich now that I think about it, it probably wasnât a good idea to trust you in the first place, because youâre the one throwing me off the cliff.â Â All he wanted to do in that moment was weasel his way into Cassiusâ arms; his fond tone and facial expression only made his heartbeat faster, and it was an unusual, w e l c o m e d feeling. Months before, he would have tried his best to ignore it, tried to stop it, but he was past the point of no return now, and he didn't dislike that as nearly as much as he thought he would. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Any feeling involving Cassius Stellan began to love as easily as breathing air.Â
Stellanâs breath caught and he couldn't help the soft grin that passed over his features as he breathed out, âI amaze you?â
