Clea in Doctor Strange Annual #1 (2016) for @winsomewasps

Pepper’s eyes widened a little. “Oh, I’m sorry,” she said, expressing sympathy that this woman’s daughter had been in danger. “I hope she’s alright.” She nodded. She didn’t have any children, but she understood. “I don’t think I would want anyone to go through that, but especially not my child,” she said. “I was relatively lucky in the whole thing, but I can think of few people in the world who actually deserve that.”
“Thank you, I hope so too. She’s a strong girl, I’m sure she’ll be alright,” Clea said, trying to convince herself that her words were true. “I’m glad you didn’t suffer, it must’ve been awful for those that did. Being exposed to your worst fear is just ... the worst kind of horror.” She nodded in agreement. “I just can’t believe it. New York is full of heroes, but this still happened. It’s so strange. We’re lucky the city remained intact,” she said as she looked up at the buildings in front of them.

“Excuse me?”
riddle-me-that:
When Edward felt the small woman bump into him, he nearly collapsed himself. Still weak after he had gotten out of the hospital. He clumsily grabbed onto her for support before just as quickly, letting her go and brushing his hands off on his pants awkwardly. “Oh, yes.” He said, “I’m perfectly fine.” He then got a look at her and blinked with surprise. It was strange running into her again. Reconigizing her as Stephen’s ex-wife, he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. It was weird that the two of them had something in common now. “What is the difference between love and marriage?” The riddle slipped out unintentionally.
The man held onto her, and Clea supported him, waiting for him to regain his balance. She recognized him as Stephen’s boyfriend when she finally looked at his face. “Oh, hello,” she said. His riddle was unexpected, she wasn’t sure how to answer it. “One ends in heartbreak, the other ends with heartbreak and divorce.” It was a cynical but honest response. “But that probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for, right?” she asked. “I’m sure both are wonderful if you find the right person ...” She cleared her throat and looked down at the ground. “So, what’s the answer?”
legalsuperhero:
“I understand that completely.” she laughed “A few days ago I broke both of my heels just by reaching to the high shelf.” Well, technically that was Shulkie and her giant green foot, but it still happened. “Don’t worry about it, really.”
Jennifer looked at the number of the key and smiled brightly. “Finally! You have no idea how long I waited for someone I could actually talk with to move in next to me. I’m Jennifer, by the way.” she introduced herself.
“It’s okay they’re not that heavy.” Elastic sleeve of her coat covered the fact that the arm she carried bags with is green. “You know what you can do? Let me greet a new neighbor properly and come over for coffee. I bought amazing cookies.”
"Both heels? I think you’ve won this round for the title of clumsiest person,” Clea laughed. It was refreshing to meet someone so lovely on the streets of Manhattan. It was such a busy place, and most people didn’t want to crack a smile before they’d had four or five cups of coffee. She was expecting to met with an angry spiel when she bumped into the woman, but she got a pleasant surprise instead.
Jennifer’s enthusiasm was endearing, Clea truly appreciated it. “I’m glad I have such a sweet, new neighbor! Where I’m from, the people aren’t as friendly... It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jennifer. I’m Clea, and I promise I won’t make too much noise or keep you up at night with hammering on walls and listening to loud rap music. That’s how they portray annoying neighbors in movies, right?” she asked.
“You’re polite, strong enough to carry your own bags, and have coffee and cookies? Are you a Dream Woman prototype?” she joked. She looked down at her watch, she still needed to track down Sofia later. “That sounds amazing, I’d love that. When I’m settled in my apartment, you’ll have to let me repay you with wine and Netflix.”
Jerome, Stephen, Pepper
SEDUCE: Stephen. I’ve done it before, so I’m not afraid to do it again. But for the sake of everybody’s sanity, I won’t.
SHARE A DRINK WITH: Pepper. She’s a kind woman, and she doesn’t mind me talking about my worries. It’d be nice to share a drink or two with her.
HIT WITH A FRYING PAN: Jerome. After what he did to my daughter, getting hit with a frying pan is a blessing, compared to the other things I could do to him.

“You don’t understand, people were experiencing their worst fears, I tried but I was just as bad as she was. If I couldn’t help myself I sure as hell couldn’t help her” he explained, knowing he was digging himself into a deeper hole but he wasn’t going to try and lie to her. “And I am, I have nothing left to lose at this point” he shrugged, feeling a slight ounce of anger at her reason for not being here. “I don’t have a good feeling with Sofia right now, so I think you should probably take a leave of absence as queen for now
“You’re saying a lot of words, but you’re not explaining what they mean. I know about people experiencing their worst fears. Are you trying to tell me that Sofia has done something bad?” His words were beginning to worry her, but Clea had only just arrived back in Manhattan, and she still needed to visit Sofia. It wasn’t hard to sense his anger, it was making her tetchy. She felt like he was blaming her for something she couldn’t prevent. “That’s easier said than done where I’m from, but I’ve left the Dark Dimension in capable hands, for now. I’ll be here for a while, is that good enough for you?”

Roaming the streets at night was hardly a rarity for Danny. As a vigilante, most of his nights were spent doing just this, even more often in recent days. His control over his chi meant he didn’t have to sleep often, and while he was still sleeping far less than he should have been, he knew he could handle it. Or, at least, he’d thought he could. When he collided with another person on the sidewalk, he began to wonder if he might have been mistaken in his assumption. “Oh,” he said, blinking as he took an uncertain step backwards. “That… Actually might have been my fault. I didn’t realize there was anyone else out here. I’m fine. Are you?”
Clea looked the man up and down to make sure she hadn’t hurt him. “Oh, it wasn’t your fault, trust me. I suppose I could blame my clumsiness on the darkness, but I’d be lying,” she laughed. “I’m great,” she said, with a smile. “I was just lost in my thoughts, it’s easy to start thinking about anything and everything when the streets aren’t as busy as they are during the day.” She gestured to the emptiness around them with her hand. “What brings you out so late at night, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Why don't you ground Sofia?
“Because, realistically, I can’t ground an adult woman. Sof is old enough to make her own decisions. It doesn’t matter how much I want to protect her, I still have to respect that.”
@sofiastranges
Your daughter is involved with some freakish guys. Aren’t you concerned?
“Of course I’m concerned, she’s my baby girl. But I’m drawn to unconventional men, so I’m not surprised she’s following in my footsteps. If she needs my help, I’m here, and she knows that.”
@sofiastranges
you don't look like you're 38
“That’s because I’m not human. My physiology is different.”
jonsknt:
“No, no, things are fine,” he breathed, raised hands, “well, now, things are fine, but the past week has been horrible. I saw Sofia once but I’m not sure if she’s doing alright” he admitted. “What did you need to do in the other dimension?”
Clea frowned as he talked about Sofia. “You’re not sure if she’s doing alright? Why? I haven’t talked to her yet, but I know about what happened in the city while I was gone.” She folded her arms across her chest with a smirk. “Aren’t you an inquisitive boy?” she asked. “I was ruling. I’m the queen, and when I’m gone too long, my people get restless.”

Karolina stumbled a bit as the woman bumped into her, looking around for the source of the disruption. “Oh, I’m okay,” she said, offering her a slight smile as she steadied herself on the wall of a nearby building. She smiled again. “I’m tougher than I look, I promise.”
Clea felt bad as she watched the girl steady herself. She’d obviously almost ended up on the ground. “Are you sure you’re okay? Not that I’m disputing your words, but I just want to make sure.” She looked sweet and fragile, but Clea knew better than most that looks could be deceiving. “I’ll try and avoid you next time I fall,” she joked.
legalsuperhero:
Jennifer was heading back to her apartment after the shopping session- let’s say, she got a bit carried away, and now she had to carry all the bags and barely saw anything. When she stopped next to the main entrance to the building, searching for her keys, someone bumped into her.
“No, no, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t stand in the middle of the sidewalk. I’m sorry.” she smiled apologetically to the woman. “Hey, are you my new neighbor? I heard that someone bought the apartment above mine and you don’t look familiar.”
Clea shook her head when the woman apologized and took the blame. “It really wasn’t your fault, I promise. I’m just ... clumsy. You’d think after 38 years of being alive, I’d know how to walk in a straight line without tripping.” It was a poor attempt at humor, but she wanted to lighten things up, and for the stranger to stop feeling like it was her fault.
“I might be?” Clea replied, looking up at the building in front of them. If this was her neighbor, she was very lucky. She seemed nice, friendly, and approachable. She reached into her purse and showed the woman the number on her key. “So, are we neighbors? Even if we aren’t, will you at least let me help you with your bags? It’s the least I can do after almost knocking you over.”
jonsknt:
He had seen her before, and this was before shit hit the fan with not only the mist but Sofia’s weird attitude lately. And a part of him wondered whether he should tell the other or not. Jon knew that nothing he could say would help Sofia but maybe her mom would? “Yeah, no, I’m fine,” he reassured with a raised hand. “Sof’s mom, right?” he asked, standing up a bright straighter. “Where have you been?”
Clea smiled when she realized she’d met the boy before. “Yes, that’s right.” She raised her eyebrows when he asked where she’d been. He reminded her of an impatient father that had been waiting for his daughter to return home from a date. “I was in the Dark Dimension taking care of some issues. Why do you ask? Is everything okay?”
