WHERE: Certainly A Place WHO: Jackson Jekyll ( @magicalmanifesto )
He looked familiar. They could have sworn that he looked familiar, but no matter how hard they racked their brain for who he was, they could not figure out where they had met. Instead, she found herself staring at the man with her eyebrows furrowed and her head resting in her palm as she tried and failed to place him. "Shit, sorry," they said, when it seemed she had been caught. "You just... Look really familiar. Have we met?"
WHERE: Club Delirium at The Knightclub WHO: Chaos Cole ( @scryptids )
"Guess what?" Dime called out, managing to make herself heard over the loud music thumping through the venue. She set a tray of drinks down on the standing table she and Cole and been hanging out around. "Before you ask, no, I didn't buy all of these. I didn't buy any of these. The shots were sent over by the group in the corner, and I think the cocktails were from the bartender himself, but I'm honestly not sure."
WHERE: Val's Speakeasy at The Knightclub WHO: Xander Dante ( @colorfulxander )
Dime was a couple of shots and even more drinks into the evening by the time she spotted Xander seemingly by himself. She had seen him earlier, but then he had been hanging out with Minnie, and now she was nowhere to be found. "Get ditched by your friend already?" she asked with a teasing grin, holding out a drink for him to take. "I seem to have lost my brother in the crowd. Maybe you can keep me company."
WHERE: Dark Fae HQ WHO: Zeke Hunt ( @magicalmanifesto )
"Hey, got a minute?" Clara asked, knocking on the doorframe to Zeke's office. Before waiting for an answer, she offered him a friendly smile and strolled in, immediately making herself at home. At least she had knocked. And asked. That was very polite for her standards. "I've got a peacekeeping mission with Walker coming up that's out of town. Shouldn't take more than a few days. Think you could watch Jay for us?"
WHERE: Calder-Cassidy Residence WHO: Walker Calder ( @walkertexaspeacekeeper )
"Jay! Dinner's ready!" Clara set the final plate down on the table before turning to Walker. It had been an adjustment, going from being coworkers to being co-parents, but at least living together felt normal—it would have been strange if she didn't feel comfortable around someone that she had known for centuries. He was arguably the person in the world that she felt most comfortable with. "Were you briefed on our next assignment? Seems like we're taking a little trip out of town." She sat down and started pouring water into everyone's glasses. "I was going to ask Zeke if he could take Jay."
"I guess you learn something new every day," Devlin chuckled a little to himself. "I'll have to try it out - though if I'm being honest, I think the ache in my throat is permanent at this point. You never hear about the downside of being a supernatural being."
He nodded at Liz's question. "Something like that - she stays there. I don't know if she'd consider herself one of his anything though." He liked spending time with Ezra because she was one of the few people in this world who he felt like truly understood the deep sadness inside of him. "Really?" He perked up a little bit. "I didn't think I'd ever meet anything you hadn't encountered."
"If it's really bothering you, and human solutions are not sufficient, then surely there must be a fae one," Liz offered, holding up her hand where the ring that allowed her to walk in daylight sat snuggly against her pale skin. "We have invented ways to make vampires walk under the sun. We must be able to cure a banshee of his sore throat."
She lowered her hand again before nodding. "Of course, I didn't mean to presume," she replied with a calm smile. "If you ever go to the house, feel free to stop by my place on the way. I'm right across the street." She laughed softly. "I have met many things and each has been unique. Meeting one member of a species can be a wholly different experience from meeting another—I have met many vampires and not one has been like the other. People are singular. No matter how long or short their lives are."
jane de leon in darna, episode 89.
The word love rang through their head, turning his gaze away from hers to watch their hand play with some of her hair, twirling it around their fingers. He felt the way his heart skipped a beat, reminded on how few times he felt genuinely warm. It's not that they felt particularly cold either, just able to notice the absence of warmth. When he was with her, he remembered, feeling heat everywhere her skin touched his. Leaning down they brushed their lips against her cheek then her jaw, "Mmm, love you? Yeah. The bad jokes? Nah. Just lucky you're cute," he mumbled, his tone light and playful. Pulling back he kept one arm around her waist and put his hand behind his head before rolling his eyes. "Ah I see, to be fair that last one still involves my body," they said, tracing their fingers down her side and letting the cold seep through, not enough to be freezing just enough to feel her shiver against him.
Jess hummed contentedly when she felt him brush his lips against her skin. She would probably overthink that later, wondering if she had given too much away about how she felt, but for now, she was enjoying how close they were. And then Aiden repeated that word back to her. Love. "Yeah?" she asked, keeping her voice casual as if she wasn't wondering if she had heard them correctly. But his tone had been light, and he had said it without hesitation, so she was inclined to believe that they didn't mean it that way. "I love you too, slick. And you're cute. Even when you're being annoying."
She felt his fingers trace down her side and shivered in response. It wasn't even that cold, and it was more the surprise that caused her to instinctively snuggle closer to them, as if seeking heat. "No fair, I have nothing I can use against you like that," Jess complained, pressing her face to the crook of his neck. "Just a regular ol' human."
emmet waited patiently while she thought and ended up just organizing a few things around them but snapped his attention back to her at the 'ah.' "oh sweet." he said as she started scrolling her phone, really he could've done it without or without one but if she wanted it closer this way would be easier. "okay cool, can i give you my insta to send it to so i have a copy? i can get started on it asap and order all the supplies i'm gonna need when we're done here." he said smiling. he chuckled now and shook his head. "unfortunately not, if we did i'd have one myself but i spend most of my time here either working or school."
Anastasia had not expected to add her tailor on Instagram. When she thought about it for more than second, it was apparent that it was the most practical way to share the photos, but it still threw her for a loop at first. "Uh, yeah, of course," she replied quickly, realising she had been quiet for a few seconds. She handed him the phone. "If you put your handle in I'll send it to you now. And really, there's no rush, but I really appreciate it." When he mentioned school, she looked genuinely curious, and perhaps a little excited. "Oh, are you at the University of Magic at Dallas? That's where I go."
