“oversized tabby cat could work.” she glanced around the space — trying to imagine the cat roaming about, sleeping the day away in warm patches of sun. others may not have seen the point of a cat around headquarters — but lennie thought it made the perfect addition. they all could use a little cat therapy if their work go to be too much. snorting a laugh, lennie glanced back to the red-head, shaking her head lightly. “reminds me of that meme that was going around, honestly. you know the one? love is a scam, eat a mango bitch.” she grinned. “could totally work though. we’re all apart of the meme generation.”
“it would be absolutely perfect.” a cat would be nice to have around, and ezra was a little more excited about this potentially coming to fruition than she should be. she’d probably end up spending more time watching the cat sleep than actually writing songs like she’s supposed to, but there was nothing wrong with that. ezra chuckles at the meme reference, nodding along. “i feel as if it’d be a sin to completely forget any form of a meme that comes along these days.” she rests her chin the palm of her hand, a small grin on her lips. “that we are, and in a way, it keeps the meme alive. so long as everyone gets the reference, of course.”

“so sorry i’m late.” are her first words through the door, rushing in with a disgruntled expression, apologetic tone. it’s only by a few minutes, less than fifteen, even; but nicola values her time, and she’s certain other people do, too, which is why she tries her best to stay punctual –– without, however, taking into account how the universe occasionally conspires against her. “fucking uber drivers can drive me fucking insane, sometimes; i hope i didn’t keep you waiting too long.” the studio’s empty, save her and the fiery haired artist, and as soon as nicola readies her things by the keyboard she glances up at ezra, features softened in a warm, slightly excited smile; one of the things she’s most grateful to the b side for is the opportunity for friendship with talented and powerful women –– ezra is no exception, and nicola can’t help the endearment she feels towards the older girl, just as passionate about the music as she is. “you have anything new written up ?” she asks, fingers running across the keys effortlessly, softly. “i think i’ve got something you might like; was wondering if you could sing out the lyrics for me.”
ezra halts biting at her pen cap and tapping the toe of her shoe when she hears nicola’s voice, a small smile appearing on her face. “it’s okay, it kind of gave me a little extra time.” ezra didn’t always show up perfectly on time, but she figured that this time she’d make an effort to get to the studio at the scheduled time. ezra turns in her chair as she listens to nicola, and her head shakes. “i’ve never been much of an uber person... for whatever reason, walking and the metro seem like a better choice.” she can’t help but watch as nicola prepares herself for their session, and she piles her long locks on top of her head to keep them out of the way. nicola was one of the first people that she met when she came to beat nearly a year and a half ago -- it was incredible too see so many women taking charge of their lives and music as a whole. it was pretty much the reason why she created the persona of CRMSN in the first place. the redhead curls her legs up into the chair as she’s pulled from her thoats, and she looks down as her notepad for a second. “uh, not really? i don’t even know if you could count this as a verse... maybe a pre-chorus at most.” ezra sets the pad aside. “show me watch you have. it’s probably a whole lot better than the mess i have.”

“local shelter. obviously. we can adopt some stray domestic breed.” lennie shrugged easily, slurping at her coffee once more. she wasn’t about to go to a breeder for anything designer or specific — any old household fuzzball that slept most of the day away seemed easy enough to her. it might’ve even give the b-side an unofficial mascots of sorts. a heavy sigh broke past lennie’s lips as she glanced to the cieling. “yeah, neither do i.” blasted writer’s block. “you’d think with how many creatives there are in this building, we’d be better at cat name puns, huh?”
“we should get like... a tabby cat or something. i think they’d be a perfect addition.” ezra pulled her legs up into the chair she was sitting on. she never had pets of her own, and she would be open for getting a little fur ball to lounge around the space. “you would think,” she laughs at the other’s quip. “i don’t think we should name them tiger or anything... we should give them something unique, but not ridiculous.” ezra taps her thumbnail against her phone screen as she thinks again, face scrunching slightly as she tries to come up with something. “oooh! what about mango?”

— “look. all i’m saying…” she took a slurp from her ever-present coffee cup, falling into an oversized and overstuffed chair. there was a notebook tucked under her arm, pen tucked behind her ear: clear signs on what she was supposed to be doing at present, yet all too happy to procrastinate a little while longer. "is technically… it’s not actually illegal to have a cat here.” her brows lifted and a grin quirked across her mouth. “think about it! he could have a witty, yet fun and relevant name! he could just roam all the levels. he’d be all our cat — not just, ya know. one person.” lennie paused before nodding once, mission seemingly decided. “i think we should do it.”
ezra glances up from her phone when she assumes that the long-haired brunette is talking to her, thumb pressing the button on the side to lock the screen. for once, she’s not putting pressure on herself to write a new song -- instead, she was busy looking up thrift stores in the area to find some good pieces. “and where would we get this cat from?” ezra asks incredulously, arching a brow. she’s not opposed to the idea -- cats were cute, especially the super white and fluffy ones that looked like they belonged on a villain’s lap. “we’d have to come up with the perfect name for him or her...” she pauses, thinking. “i’ve got nothing, but i don’t think anyone else would be opposed to it.”

allegra’s car is full of some weird shit. any time there is something faulty at work, people attempt to throw it away, yet if allegra is working when it happens, it ends up in her backseat instead. wasting art supplies is not something she’ll let happen on her watch, even if the googly eye has two pupils or the gel pen doesn’t sparkle as much as it should. she walks into the second floor with two plastic bags in one hand and a canvas in the other, plopping them down on the table before looking around the room, her eyes landing on someone sitting alone in the corner. “hey,” she says, friendly smile on her face. “i’ve got a bunch of extra art supplies lying around, and i think i’m gonna turn this into, like, a huge collaborative piece for the next exhibit we do. you wanna help out?”
the cap of ezra’s pen is tapping continuously against the notebook in front of her, and she can’t help but blow a raspberry as she racks her brain. the page is scatters with a few lyrics here and there with a few mindless doodles taking up the margins. usually, she would have found some inspiration by walking around the city and maybe taking a quick metro ride just for the hell of it. instead, she’s got a single lyric that’s been stuck in her head for the past few days and a pint of ben and jerry’s to drown her writer’s block in. the redhead is so out of it, she barely hears when someone comes up the steps and into the space. she turns on her chair, returning the brunette’s smile. in any other instance, ezra would have declined the offer, but she’s in desperate need of human interaction and anything that will take her mind off of writing. “i’m not the best when it comes to visual art, but i’m willing to give a helping hand.”
