Wait now I'm curious about the curtains. Are they just staging devices for when acts start and end or do you think there's more to them? When caliborn takes control of the narrative, the curtains change to his shitty versions to show the extent of his power (able to control even meta elements not part of the main story), but are there other instances of this happening?

Ok so this is referencing my post about discs as a symbol for control of power/will and how windows and squares in general in Homestuck act as symbols for the control of knowledge. I think the curtains, as they are referencing the Wizard of Oz, share a theme with boxes in Homestuck. Obfuscation, perhaps ignorance of knowledge. They let you know what they want you to know, and hide what you don't need to know. "Pay no attention to the main behind the curtain!" As for the colors, they're more tied to the vaster Homestuck color theory bullshit which I can't really get into right now. I do think a very important sequence though is in Act 5 Act 2 when June and Rose go through all the curtains. Not perhaps on a thematic level, but the fact they're able to touch these meta-level objects. I'm going to label that as trickster shit and move on cause I don't remember the exact details but if someone else wants to look more into it feel free. Red and blue are obviously the universe colors. On some meta level in act 6 after the trickster section Caliborn notes that acts aren't "supposed" to go backwards. The curtains are like a blindfold. You can't see any more. So maybe yeah, green curtains mean Lord Dingus is dictating what you see. This is his story now, and you're seeing what he wants you to. It's weird. As for other instances... I'll have to look into that

In some manner of speaking, the Cairo Overcoat is also a curtain! Though not one meant to draw attention *away,* but the cloak donned once Lord English finally enters center stage, once his story is beginning! (On multiple levels, considering this leads directly into the act in which Caliborn is introduced.) Doc Scratch shatters, but instead of his power diminishing, (as you may expect, given the relation between circles/spheres and power) we see this is the extent of power that Lord English has always been about. Lord English is the window being framed, displayed, focused on. His cloak a bright green in contrast to the red curtains we were used to (or even the one blue curtain for half of Act 5)

This is the man stepping behind the curtain, sure, but that is also where he is at his most powerful. Draped in the cloth of control. Or something like that, idk. :P
