worthbeingontimefor In the blink of an eye Dr. Catlin Snow had found herself in an underground cavern after starring up the face of a wormhole with her friends. A honest to gosh wormhole. It seemed so surreal to see it devouring Central City at the rate that it was and then to just not be there, but as she lit up the screen of her phone to see where she was Caitlin was relieved to see more people popping into existence. "We’re safe.“ She said, hoping that her words were true as she looked up at the others, her own face slightly illuminated by the screen of her phone.
“Has anyone seen Iris?” Caitlin asked, doing a headcount. Ronnie was missing, but she knew that was probably because he was helping Barry. Joe and Cisco were both present, but if the other girl was there with them it was just too dark for her to see.
Iris had pretty much disconnected since…well, she couldn’t even remember. The beginning of the day seemed like so long ago, and so much had happened since then. She was surprised she even realized she had somehow moved locations, but she was so focused on watching the large wormhole just get bigger over Central City and how Barry sped up there and oh, god, she couldn’t live if she lost him, too. At first she thought maybe she had got sucked into nothingness like many other Central City citizens were right at that very moment, but hearing other voices and seeing light in the corner of her eye proved otherwise.
The journalist flinched at Caitlin’s words, feeling like the word ‘safe’ was a privilege that cost way more than she ever wanted to pay…and she was forced to watch as the people she loved give their lives to settle the price. She couldn’t be here. She shouldn’t be here. She should be out there, helping people, not down…wherever this was, curling into a ball with her hands over her ears hoping it’d all just go away. “I have to get out of here,” Iris said to herself, moving to do just that before anyone could try and stop her.
