He grinned, laughing at her attempt at the proper voice, before walking about to the driver’s side, he slid in, his knees immediately hitting the steering wheel, “Fuck…” he found the switch to scoot the seat back, giving him more room, he had gotten the car from someone who owed him, and had probably left the seat like that on purpose, “Too damned tall,” he said, cranking the car up and turning it out of the gates, “There now that all that’s settled,” Amon said, stealing a glance over at Fauna, chewing on his lip ring as he did, “You do look really nice though,” he repeated, his voice sounded different to him, a tone he had never had before was there, meaning? He didn’t know but knew she would know.
He turned into the little downtown area of the city, looking for the place Phil had told him about, he spotted the neon lights that blinked in the colors of the Italian flag, patio seating with christmas lights outside despite the cool air, he guessed that was just their aesthetic. He managed to stuff the car into a parking spot a bit down from the place, stopping the engine, “Well, let’s see how well Phil knows his Italian,”
Fauna stifled a giggle as Amon struggled to get comfortable in the driver’s seat. But whatever little remark she was going to make quickly disappeared from her mind as he complimented her. There was something about this interaction that was so much different than their others... He was being so unmistakably genuine that it caused her heart to flutter and her cheeks to flush. “I — thank you.” The brunette replied quickly, a rosy blush tinting her cheeks.
As soon as the restaurant came into view, she tore her gaze away from Amon long enough to give it a good look. “Oh, it’s so cute!” She chimed excitedly, bouncing a bit in her seat as he parked. “Did you see all of those Christmas lights? I hope it’s that quaint inside, too —” Fauna suddenly stopped herself, flashing him a sheepish smile. “Sorry, I’m probably overreactin’, huh?”
