everyone who asks jane about her biological parents gets a different answer. a world famous opera singer who had an affair with a foreign prince before dying in childbirth. scorned nobles who ran away together and had a carriage accident. teachers who got a bit too into their scientific experiments... the list goes on. truth is, no one knows where jane came from. she was left in the orphanage as a baby, without a first or last name.

she was a problem child. there was not much to do in the orphanage except trouble, and jane always had a knack for getting people into her crazy schemes, be it stealing a bar of chocolate or reenacting shakespeare with real knives.

jane had already given up all hope of being adopted by the time she turned 15. in fact, she had about a dozen plans on how to run away from the orphanage when she met duchess drummond and her wife. soon enough, jane was in a carriage with a new dress, new shoes and heading to a new home.

the high society amuses jane. she enjoys the social season for the dances and the drama, though marriage has never been on her mind. in fact, jane swears she will never marry, at least not before following her true passions. she’s just not entirely sure what those true passions are.
