â can you lift a dinosaur over your head ? â it was just out of curiosityâs sake. as a child valeria had dreamed of petting a dinosaur , living among them , but now it was just a nuisance that she wanted to end. â just wondering. â
He pressed his lips in a thin line, hip cocked and hands resting on the sides of his hips, Ted was ever so slightly concerned before she helpfully added that she had just been wondering. The tension left his face, lips curving into an easy-going smile. âNot one to brag but it depends on the Dinosaurâs size-- and personality. Turns out the smallest ones can do alot of damage if we piss them off.â he had experienced weeks of evading those wretched packs of small but lethal dinosaurs out there in the jungle. âBut honestly I wonât try doing it even if you offer me money.â
âi donât need to lift anything heavy, but is there anyway you can reach that?â christine pointed to the top shelf where an empty box sat. âi was going to lookâoh my god. are you okay?â she noticed the green tint to his skin, and she still wasnât used to the wholeâsuperhero thing. âor are you, you know, supposed to look like that?â
His gaze darted to where she pointed, totally oblivious to how her expressions and concerns shifted and his attention narrowed down to her only when she asked whether he was okay. He couldnât help but grin and held up both his hands. âI can look like anything I need to look likeâ and the mischief within him egged him on to shift so to look like her. He pushed back at that idea and bit his bottom lip. â Iâm a shape shifter. I can grow in size as well and go fully green -- like The Hulk, yâknow him?â Never much of a show off he moved to said object and increased his size only as much as it was needed in order to bring the object to the ground without over-doing anything âHere yaâ go, oh, my nameâs Theodore Altman. Friends call me Ted or Teddy.â
Thereâs a laugh as Billy began cresting a portal back to whet he was staying. He looks over at his boyfriend not drifting too far away from him still. âYou can have it, I just ate. You need it more than I do, baby.â The mutant says with a certain look. He canât imagine what Teddy has been through out there all alone. It breaks his heart, but no worries anymore now that theyâre together. âYou can have me all night and day.â Billy says with a grin, needing to flirt a little even if theyâre in some dinosaur filled world. âThereâs a few shelters. Kate is here too. Iâve been staying in the Sanctum of course, decorated the room to be like ours back home.â He walks through the portal since being somewhere that had a bed to sit on would be more comfortable for both of them. He waits for Teddy to come through before closing it. âI can only portal to places that are HERE in this place. Itâs strange even for my powers. I can look into the multiverse, but I canât go there.â He says while sitting down on the large bed.
His gaze flickered to where the portal began to appear and just the view of Billy snapping open a portal for them was a sight that eased him mind and heart a little more. That was a very familiar sight and he desperately needed familiar things around him. âYou know what, youâre right, I am starvingâ he huffed through a small laugh. Billyâs laughter had always been contagious and he just couldnât get enough of it. His grin grew wider at those words â This is so you, never missing out on an opportunity to make me blushâ he wasnât complaining, he loved Billyâs attentions and flirtations so much he just ate it all up. Instead he sank his teeth into the fruit, munching it with a grateful moan. His eyes glistened with delight upon hearing about Kate. With his hand unwilling to let go his fingers curl around the fabric of Billyâs shirt and he followed his boyfriend through the portal and ended up in a room. Their room! Wide-eyes looked it over with tears of joy -- this felt as they really had broken free and stepped back into the world they knew. He sniffled softly and set aside the mostly eaten fruit in favor of sitting in Billyâs lap with his arms hugging Billyâs neck âSo weâre stuck here?â his crestfallen expressions lighten up a little. " Atleast weâre stuck together-- canât imagine living a life without youâ a small whimper punctuates his words. Words were not really needed anymore. he was pulled in by billyâs aura. Kissing him properly he held onto him as if Wiccan was his life line. Desperate and full of longing while stray tears trickled down his cheek he kissed him long and hard.
âDoes anyone need help with lifting heavy stuff?â he offered, looking around Teddy had seen that people were helping with one thing or another, wanting to contribute the male had grown in size, his skin only a pale green since he wasnât going full-on âhulkâ mode yet.Â
âhang on, we have to save this little reunion before we get eaten.â she was happy to see teddyâthrilled even, but she didnât exactly want their reunion to end with them being dinosaur food. teddyâs wings sprouted and suddenly her feet were off the ground. kate had never been a fan of the whole flying thing. she squeezed her friendâs hand. teddy was real. he was here with them. her own eyes turning a bit red as she fought back her own tears. âthere,â she said, pointing to the sanctum. âbillyâs here. heâs okay. he got here first, and i came not long after. as of now, itâs just us three.â kate hadnât been sure what to think of her other teammates these past few months. seeing teddy, though, gave her hope they were all okay. âokay i need you to put me down so i can give you a proper hug.â
âAfter three weeks of avoiding it iâm not becoming dino-food today now that I found you-- or you found meâ he wasnât calm, he was barely keeping it together and planning it all out reasonably. They did need to get to some sort of a secure place before he could let his sentiments show. Keeping a strong hold on her he flew them out towards the place she had pointed out -- so all this time he had been this close to finding actually sanctuary. Then he heard her say what heâd been hoping to hear and a sigh of utter relief gushed out his lips âI was so scared â he whispered, frantic. âAre you okay? Whatâs even going on here Kate -- huh? oh ofcourseâ he hadnât smiled in so long or atleast thatâs what it felt like that now it felt odd. He landed near the Sanctum and didnt waste a second in embracing her warmly, knees bent so to stuff his face in her shoulder â Missed youâ
This was a dream come true, as out of anyone that wasnât here â his boyfriend was one that he missed the most. He misses his twin too, but throughout his life ever since he was a teenager Teddy has been his rock through a lot of trauma and life changes. âIâm here, this is real, baby.â The young mutant reassures Teddy softly as he stays so close to him. He was scared, trying to be brave through everything. Heâs struggled too with what happened in Hong Kong, but he was better now. Heâs getting out of that dark cloud, and this was the best thing to see on the other side. HIS LOVE. âI was afraid Iâd never see you again. Iâm never leaving you again, weâre in this together.â He promises as he tilts his head, giving the other manâs hand a squeeze.
âIf you are I can heal you.â Billy was rested enough for that again, but even in his last breath heâs do anything for Teddy. He smiles as the taller man bends down a little, and they kiss a few times. âIâve been keeping myself busy. I had to make portals to save those I could find stuck in that rain. I had to take them all over to shelter, and heal the wounded. It was exhausting, but Iâm okay. Here â this is safe.â Billy holds out some fruit that he had dropped with a smile. âI donât know where we are, but itâs like being stuck in Jurassic Park.â
He took it all in, the sound of his voice, the warmth that radiated from his body, all of that helped him feel ensured that this was the reality. His search was finally over. â I donât think we had much of a choice in having been separated, you never left me Billy. I trust you enough to know that. Now that Iâve found you Iâm going where you go. Togetherâ he echoed Billyâs sentiment, thumbs gently stroking under Billyâs mesmerizing eyes. He laughed faintly and shook his head âI probably need a very long bath and alot of food and alot of you. Thatâll heal me just fine. â The more he listened the more his brows furrowed in astonishment âIs everyone else here?? Kate? Shelters-- so youâve all found secure shelters? Then I believe itâll be best to go there as soon as possible.â He took one more step to stand pressed to him and ran a hand through Billyâs hair. When the fruit was held out to him he couldnât help but smile at him affectionately âThatâs yours, love. Do you want to pick out some more before showing me the way to this..shelter you speak of? OR should we just go now?â he looked around with a small shudder âI preferred the on-screen version of Jurassic Park. This...this place is not fun. Not safe. Did you try teleporting home?â he paused and shot him a sheepish look, raw and vulnerable â Too many questions, i know, sorry.â
After having been rescued from the wilderness, Billy took Teddy straight to the sanctum sanctorum where they share a room.Â
is there anything unique/specific to their room?
The most unique thing is not a thing, he is a person and his name is Billy. Aside from that, he is not exactly thinking of decor at the moment.Â
are they living near or with anyone else?:Â
Heâs sharing a room with Billy at The Sanctum and hangs out with Kate but he also likes to spend alot of his time at the Avengers Compound so heâs close to several people. Familiar faces give him the comfort he needs in this foreign world.
do they have any pets or animals currently living with them?
He wishes! So he goes around at times playing with Wandaâs Cat or any other animal he gets permission to play with.
have they done anything to make this feel homey? and if so, what?: have they tried decorate a certain way or personalize the space and what have they done?
Since he adamantly believes this is not home and they should be doing all they can to get back home, heâs really not going to bother with decor. So far, his mindâs filled with finding out ways to get back home safely.
is there anything from the outside world they were able to find or bring with? if they were already living in one of the shelters, they may have found personal items already there. or, anything they had on them before landing in the savage lands would have come with.
When he woke up all alone laying in debris and dry foliage the first thing he held onto was the locket that hung around his neck. It has a small picture of billy fit inside it. Something that gave him hope and his seemingly useless wandering a meaning, a purpose.Â
what do they wish they could have with them for comfort? is there anything they miss from the outside world that they wish was there? either for convenience or sentimental value.
Seeing how they have to acquire their own food, things like constant and uninterrupted electricity and basically just the overall comforts and luxuries of a home and a familiar place is something he dearly misses.Â
Maybe he should have asked someone for a tour of this compound. He had stepped out of billyâs and his shared space to see if he could help with something but after a few odd turns and some stair cases he was beginning to feel he wasnât supposed to be here. âHello? Anyone here?â he peered around the corner, his gut-feeling telling him to just turn around and go back.
Three days. It had been three days ever since fate had led him to meet Billy and Kate in the treacherous forests. Three days since heâd been rescued and brought to this place..this Avengers compound. While seeing familiar faces all around and actually getting to sleep under a roof holding onto Billy was immense relief-- this place still wasnât home. And it wasnât sitting well with him. So he wandered through the compound aimlessly till a certain cat had him gravitating towards it âYouâre here too?!â his face was a mix of shit-eating grin and slight horror, only for his eyes to flicker up and spot her âWanda!â that was very nearly a cheer. Really it felt as if heâd gotten a second chance at life, so ofcourse it was exciting to see her again. âItâs so good to see you. I thought Iâd never see you againâ
kate was only trying to collect some more food. she had a few stuffed into her pockets and in her hands. her bow was in its usual resting place behind her back. she missed her home and he missed her fellow teammates. she was thankful billy was here with her. kate wasnât quite sure she would be as happy here alone. she snapped out of her own thoughts, however, when she heard the familiar thudding of dinosaur feet behind her. the items in her hand fell to the ground as she aimed her weapon towards the noise. kate ducked behind a thick bush, and paused for a moment and her weapon lowered slightly. âteddy?â seconds later, the creature pushed past the treesâclearly agitated about something. without a second thought, she sent an arrow into the animals eye. it didnât kill it, but it was distracting enough. as she backed away, she got a better look at who she had been sharing the hiding spot with. it was teddy. âgo! we need to get out of here!âÂ
âKate!â he whispered in absolutely disbelief. He watched her fire at the-- a fucking dinosaur -- and held onto her arm. She was real, he wasnât going crazy. Good. âWhat the hell it really is you!â but it seemed like the situation wouldnât allow for a nice, warm reunion. So he gave a curt nod of his head. his wings sprouted with a new determination. â Point me to safety. Iâm flying us out of here â he held onto her wrist and started his way down the tree line to quietly get away from the monster and into a small clearing from where he could fly them both out. The unshed tears in his eyes gleamed as he looked her over. âI thought you were dead. Or I was dead. Either way it was terrible-- where -- where is everyone? Is billy...here?â
Billy doesnât know what to expect to come out of the foliage, but then his hands are dropping the fruit onto the grass. He doesnât care for eating when the LOVE OF HIS LIFE was standing right there. It has been so long since theyâve seen each other, and the young mutant can already feel tears forming in his eyes. He was glad to have had Kate around, but there was many nights of wishing for his boyfriend to be at his side. âTeddy? Baby, youâre really here?â His legs standing up to head closer to him fast as he could run.
He gets worried when he sees the taller male fall to his knees, bending down to help him up onto his feet again. When his small hands touch the otherâs skin he knows that this was no trick. âItâs me. Iâm right here, and not going anywhere. Iâve missed you so much, my love. You have no idea.â He says as he stands up on his toes, but using a little magic to float higher so he can press a quick kiss to Teddyâs lips.
âWhere have you been? Are you hurt?â He pulls back down to the ground, but a hand still on his arm.
He wasânt even allowing his tears to build up, that one thread of fear that he was totally hallucinating perhaps even close to death, kept him from allowing himself to feel any releif at all. Thatâs till the body was moving to him, there were arms around him, the kiss was the last draw and with a strangled sob he lunged at him as if energy had been pumped into him â Itâs really you . Billy â he repeated his name like a prayer and pulled back when they stood up. Cupping Billyâs face he looked him over, a sweet sight for sore eyes âBaby I missed you too. I was terrified -- not knowing where you were â not knowing whether you were even alive âI donât know anything, the last thing I remember was that we were together and then blackness -- only for me to wake up in this strange land . All alone.â
He moved closer, the closest he could be, desperate he pressed his forehead to billyâs and sniffled a happy little â Iâm not hurt-- atleast i dont think so.â knees bent to be on billyâs level he pecked his lips repeatedly through his words âJust very exhausted. I barely ate wandering through this place.. where are we, love?â he flinched at the sound of distant screeching -- strange birds in the trees were probably having a fight . âWhere have you been?â his thumb caressed his boyfriendâs cheek, if this were a dream he was so killing himself when he woke up!
âHey.â Pietro caught the attention of the nearest person as they assessed the damage from the recent events. Quite honestly, he had zoned out ages ago, already bored with looking at rubble and leaves the size of his entire body. âDo you think I could punch a dinosaur?â He looked at the person and gave them an exaggerated shrug. âHow much would you pay me to punch a dinosaur?â
Teddy abruptly stopped and look over, soon he was grinning in an amused manner âSo basically youâre looking to earn some money? Very risky methods I must say -- I can tell you that I can and have punched a few Dinos and some other things so I donât see the point of this bet.â Heâd spent three weeks on his own battling the wilderness before Billy and Kate had found him, a miraculous day indeed. Now just some days had past of him living with and around the young and old avengers. The one good thing he had acquired was experience, what kind of beast heâd tackle and what creature heâd never go near again. âDinosaurs, by the way, arenât the only badass beasts out there. Youâd be surprised how much of a hassle a couple of spiders can beâ
âAlright,â Tony said, jumping on a box and yelling to make himself heard over the general sound of chatter and clanking going on. âThis is the plan, weâre going to fix up the Compound, get all the junk cleared out, make this place nice and spiffy for everyone. Then weâre going to get some help from our magic wizard and mutant friends to link up everything with portals, in case we get another nice, acidic summer sprinkle.â
âSo ⊠get those hands on deck - weâve got broken windows to fix, floors to sweep, dino carcasses to get rid of, and if anyoneâs good at cooking, Iâm starving. Oh yeah, and anyone who can change a plug, I could use some help with the power systems.â
He leapt off the box â nearly twisted an ankle, oops, ow, not that young any more, and glanced around when he heard footsteps. âYou know, Iâd kill for a nice dino steak. What about you?â
Heâd be rescued from the wilderness just two days ago, finally got himself an actual bath, some clean clothes and a meal that allowed him to feel full. After the emotionally exhausting reunion with Billy and Kate, Teddy had taken upon himself to explore the place only to end up crowding around Tony who seemed to be handing out chores. Oh what a sight for sore eyes indeed. With the faintest smiles lighting up his features he made his way towards the older man, stifling a chuckle when the man seemed to make an unsteady landing âI think I can help with capturing one -- the cooking part...we might need to enlist Wiccan for that.â He couldnât help but look the man over as if really taking it all in, finally, heâd found them. He was safe. He was also filled to the brim with questions.
It was a relief being able to walk around outside again â the acidic rain was something that the mutant never wants to experience again. The whole experience left Billy exhausted, but he slept for a long time to make up for his much energy he used between healing others or making portals. [ @ofmorphers ]
This was time for himself, deciding to head toward the lost lake. He used a spell to quickly change his clothes to something more appropriate for the warm weather. Billy still wore some black jeans, a pair of boots, but decided on a loose crop top since it wouldnât be wise to hide under a sweater. His hand pulls some fruit off the nearby tree, the reason he came out here. He decides to move, sitting by the water. The witch peels it apart with his painted nails â only able to take a few bites before hearing SOMETHING.
âWhoâs there?â
After moving from one temporary shelter to another and taking on relatively small, hostile creatures as well as risking his life while trying to decide what fruits and plants will not poison him, Teddy could say he had had enough of this place. He wanted to go home already. To the Young Avengers. To Billy.
Making his way through shrubbery, stepping carefully away from dry foliage in case a wild, not-friendly animal was around, Teddy was once again searching for a fruit he had identified as safe for consumption. He miss-stepped once and froze only to hear a very familiar voice call out. Going from wondering whether he was hallucinating to this instinct to find out, Teddy inched forward, ever so slowly peering out from the bush only for his gaze to grow wide. âB-Billyâ his hands were shaking along with his voice. âBilly is it really you?â he rasped, choking up whilst his feet stumbled to the boy, so overwhelmed and very exhausted he fell to his knees before he could reach Billy, staring through wide, unblinking eyes.
