How did Aitana came to be like the Shakira of the Spanish nt? If I remember correctly you celebrated the Euro Cup to one of her songs too. Like how did that come to be? Was the song pushed with the connection in mind or did it just happen? She seems a bit facha coded tho so it’s not too surprising but she just doesn’t have football vibes idk. But I mean if miss “no sé preparar café y no entiendo de fútbol” became miss FIFA, so can she, it’s only fair. Not an hater ofc, I just don’t listen to her
I think it just sort of happen. She is very popular in Spain. Her team may have pushed Superestrella to be one of the songs chosen to be played after winning games; maybe the players/staff picked it along with Despechá, idk. The song sort of became a meme itself, so I think that part was organic. She, 100% had to be here today to perform. She says she has always been a football fan. How much she is really is idk, but iirc, she supports Barça and had their mascot, Cat, in one of her concerts.
I don't think she is a facha, tho. Ana Mena however...
OH, THE ANTHEM
Please the England fa being all “our best wc on foreign soil!” is so goddamn funny, why not just say “in 60 years” becaue they haven’t played on “home soil” in that amount of time anyway
As I said I think that medal meant more for than it would have mean for France
Felicidades!
You know I disagree with the other anon about the 3rd place match being unnecessary. Sure it’s sad and disappointing that they didn’t win their semis and lost their chance to win, but being third best in the world isn’t too shabby either. Just see the reactions after Belgium and Croatia came third. In the case of France it’ll mean they’re medalling for the third WC running, and for England it’d be their best result since 1966. And it’s not like it’s this huge anomaly to play for third place, almost every other tournament in different parts do it. So idk, it feels a bit… snobbish? to be like “we don’t want to play it” it’s completely meaningless blah blah, especially when you knew it was always happening. I understand players being disappointed, I do, but as someone who has both played finals and bronze matches… it’s really not the end of the world and why not end your run with a win and a sort of good feeling?
and if you were planning on going it a final you can just as well go to a different match where your team is playing for a medal a day earlier
i guess I agree and disagree. It does mean the world for some teams and I like seeing people happy; but at the same time, it's not the Olympics and the WC is supposed to be elitist in a way? Like it's a competition to decide who is the best nt in the world. It's supposed to mean everything. So, idk.
In the case of England vs. France, I doubt getting that medal would mean anything to France. They won it in 2018 and finished 2nd in 2022; it's recent. They came to win the whole thing. It does mean more for England, IMO.
Basta.
ELLA, ADIVINA!
Considering his performance this tournament, Cubarsi is my favorite the Golden Boy award. But I fear fifa won’t help themselves and give it to Yamal instead, who hasn’t been his best for various reasons. And getting ahead of myself but Rodri should be player of the tournament no matter the outcome in the final, but we know who’ll get it if Argentina wins tomorrow… what do you think?
Sorry, you sent this days ago! I have the unpopular opinion that Cuba is as much as a prodigy as Lamine is, but his position is not as flashy. It's a position that requires a lot of focus and discipline and it's incredible to me that such a young player has it. I think having less attention works for him, tho. He is allowed a lot more of privacy and far less speculation. So, yeah, IMO, he deserves the Golden Boy.
The way people excuse Messi’s behavior just because his teammates are worse… he and De Paul are the ringleaders and have cultivated this for decades
Paredes needs to have a lengthy ban, never seen a worse loser
Like, look at this. And it's like this all the time. Like it doesn't only reflect badly on team, it ends reflecting bad on everybody. They are representing their country. The only one who shows some class is Scaloni. I can't believe that's the group he trains
Super deserved this for Cubarsí
