“no – its just a stuffed rabbit, like a teddy.” he said with a raised brow.

“My grandparents had stuffed animals in their house…and y’know not the cute kind. The real dead ones. It was pretty scary going to their house as a kid,” David replies. “So I hope you’re right.”

“taxidermy just freaks me out man.” he said before shivering.

“I don’t know, there is a pretty big taxidermy following down here. Haven’t you seen all the old school deer heads and stuff around? It feels like– massive rich people stuff.”

“that is very disturbing and if i find one in my room do not be surprised if you hear me scream.” he said as he looked up at one of the stuffed deers in the hallway. “so weird.”

“I just hope it’s not kinky, she couldn’t help but mutter under her breath. “Nice to meet you Peter, I’m Molly Hayes.” She held out her hand. “Welcome to mutant high.” She hesitated briefly, not wanting to offend but also not wanting to turn away the possibility of a new friend. “Do you need help finding anything or.. Well, really, if you need anything I’m around.” And I love friends, she added quietly to herself. Molly was a people person through and through, although she did occasionally have her days.

“oh god i didn’t even think of it being kinky and now i’m even more disturbed.” he said with a small laugh. “likewise molly.” the boy said before shaking her hand. “mutant high – i like it.” peter looked around before shrugging. “you can show me to the kitchen if you want? – i’m starving.”

Jude felt another presence enter his space, and, for a moment, he worried whether it was a friend of the older student in front of him. His eyes drew deeper into the ground, and he swallowed, trying to wait it out. Just then, the newcomer started to speak, and it became clear that he wasn’t at all. Jude was afraid at how the older boy would react - he had been trying to persuade Jude into using his power to exact some kind of “revenge” on someone the boy hated. But, to his surprise, the burly male muttered a few unintelligible words before striding off, sending the pair a glare as he walked away.

“Um, sorry…” Jude muttered shyly as he tried to recollect himself. “He was just… th-thanks.” He let out a small hint of a grateful smile at the taller boy.

peter looked down at the kid who clearly didn’t look like he was in a good mood. the older boy rolled his eyes slightly when he noticed the kid who was now walking away glaring at him. within a second peter had shot a piece of web onto the boys eyes, so that he wouldn’t be able to glare, or open them for the next few hours.

“don’t apologise.” peter said before sitting down next to him. “he was just a jerk, no matter what school you go too there will always be one or two of those.” he said before smiling softly. “i’m peter.”

“feel free to switch with me.” he said with a small smile as he looked over at the girl. “its just getting to that point where its a bit weird how much he likes it.”

Jude’s eyes faltered slightly, not looking at the person across from him. Arms clutching his books at his chest, he felt his heart beating hard, nerves taking over him. “I’m… I just - I don’t know if it’s a good idea…” He muttered shyly, eyes still towards the ground. “Maybe… maybe some other time, or… sorry…” His speech continued to grow quieter as he glanced around, desperate for a distraction or excuse to move away. Turning someone down was the opposite of his comfort zone, and, if the earth opened up right there and swallowed him whole, he wouldn’t protest.

peter had been walking around campus, familiarising himself with the place when he noticed a boy that didn’t seem particularly happy with the situation he was in. peter took a breath before walking over to him and just hearing the last part of the conversation. the mans arms crossed over his chest before he spoke. “clearly he doesn’t want you near him right now –– and if you stay any longer i’d be happy to remove you myself.” peter said to the other as he looked in between them.

there’s no hiding her confusion, but cassie at least takes a moment to try to sort things out herself before voicing it. “ i’m sorry, sometimes it’s hard to follow what people are saying. are we talking about a rabbit or a bear? ”

peter looked at the girl with a raised brow before it clicked in his head. she couldn’t hear him. it was times like these that peter was grateful his aunt may made him learn how to sign. ‘theres a weird guy in the room next to me, he’s always talking about a stuffed rabbit and i just hope its a teddy not a real rabbit.’ the boy signed to her.

Molly scoffed, grinning at the boy with a raised eyebrow. “Honestly, you never know here in this place. It could legitimately be anything you could think of. I’m guessing you’re new, yeah?”

“thats true, i’m hoping its something cute and not absolutely terrifying.” he said with a small shrug before nodding. “uhh yeah, i’m peter, peter parker.”

Exhausted. That was the only word that fit how Kitty felt after helping Clint with a demonstration in the danger room. It might not have been that tiring if she had slept the night before, but she was fairly on edge after all the recent battles. It wasn’t that strange, really. The X-Men were nearly always in one dispute or another. Yet, she couldn’t help but feel that something was brewing with the humans.

Maybe it wasn’t he battles that had her on edge. Maybe it was the government wanting both schools together. She didn’t mind working with Hellfire. It helped the students overall, she believed. But forcing them all in one place? It made them sitting ducks. Past that, it was segregation. She longed to see a day when mutants and humans lived in peace but sometimes she couldn’t help but agree with Hellfire and think that it would never come.

As she walked towards her office, her head was swirling with thoughts. She needed to push them aside and work on planning for her class the following day but it was much easier said than done. She glanced at her name by the door of her office: Kitty Pryde- Professor, Guidance Counselor.

Pursing her lips, Kitty walked into her office, pausing when she saw someone in there. “Oh,” she said. “Sorry for the wait if you’ve been here long. Can I help you?”

peter was new to the school. he had no idea where to go or what to do, hence why he was sitting here in the counsellors office. the boy looked up at the woman before shaking his head to answer her question. “only about five minutes ––– uhh i’m new and was told to come here, apparently you’re supposed to help me or show me around or something.”
