A string of murders with no leads, motive or evidence.
A city living in fear, afraid of their own shadow; hoping they won’t be next.
A hero and a crime scene investigator; one man trying to bring it all to an end.
Barry Allen has been running on empty for days now, spending every waking hour at work or on the hunt, doing what he can to track down a murderer. There’s been nothing for him to collect, at each crime scene the culprit has been tidy, too tidy to give the CCPD anything to move on. That is until Barry crosses paths with another speedster, witnesses the murder of his next victim. Before the shouted words of objection leave his mouth Barry knows it’s far too late to save the man in the clutches of the other.
So all he can do is get ready to run. The Flash versus a new speedster, one hellbent on terrorizing this city; his city. “You’re going to answer for that,” he warns, lightning rippling from him in waves as he starts to open his connection to the speed force fully. Not knowing how fast this other speedster was going to be was a dangerous reality, and as such Barry knew that he had to open up his full potential, just in case he tried to outrun him. Whatever the case, the blond knew the only way this would work is to lure him out of the city, or chase him there, so he can take him down without any collateral damage.
ϟ The speed force. The entity that gave all speedsters their power. How sweet it always tasted whenever he drained another one of their abilities. And when they were useless husks, devoid of any energy to give him, he finished them. He had to. It was less about wanting to kill another living creature, and more about.. Well, having to take out the garbage. These people had no place in his plan. These speedsters, though; they were small fry in comparison to the abundance of energy that was making its way towards him. He could smell it in the air: the Flash was coming for him. And there he was. “I knew if I cut down your circle of friends, that you’d come running to me, Flash.” The speed demon turned, facing his crimson foe. “And hell, here you are, ripe for the taking.” The enemy’s voice was raspy and distorted under the speed force’s influence. He was obviously a different kind of speedster, not pure or kind-hearted like Barry Allen. He was something new. “I’m surprised you let so many other speedsters die before you came running to me. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Not the good little boy scout that we all thought you to be.” There was silence from the heroic speedster, and then he took off. “Hmph. Don’t make this too easy on me, Flash.” Danny took off after the speedster, slowing down the flow of time to fling him closer to the scarlet hero. He may have been an ex-con, but he wasn’t stupid. The Flash, being ever so kind-hearted, was trying to draw him out of the city. Danny didn’t mind. The powerless citizens of the city were of no concern to him; he only needed the Flash.
