BONNIE
“I just want things to be normal— without drama, FOR ONCE.” it would be a highlight for Bonnie to experience some sort of quiet life– yet, she was not naive enough to believe it would happen upon her return to San Francisco. She had dealt with a lot of drama— but since returning a few weeks prior, she had begun to enjoy a quieter life, one that did not involve witches, supernatural beings or any form of drama or danger. for once, she felt SAFE, SECURE— BRAVE. “I know it wont last, trust me, I know, but, at least for ONE minute, please let me just enjoy my drink before you rain on my parade, or whatever.” She exhaled, raising the cup of tea to her lips, before turning to the individual.
@apxstarters
he’s a little caught off-guard by her comments, fingers stalling from where they’d been about to wipe down the countertops across from her. he’s not an employee but there’s something sticky on the surface that’s been driving him crazy. maybe it’s strange, that he travels with lysol wipes in his back pocket, but he likes to think he’s just proactive. “ sorry, there’s just — this sticky spot. ” he smiles sheepishly, swiping it down quickly before tossing the wipe into the trash. “ no raining on your parade here. parade away. ” he knows how important a stiff drink after a hard day can be — he does come from a family, ish, of hunters.
CLAUDIA
of course it smelled like something was burning. by the time she had woken up to the pounding on her door, her curtains were aflame. she sleeps with a fire extinguisher under her bed just in case of moments like this, when she’s too out of it to put them out herself – giving herself a helping hand of extinguishing them before she races to the front door and pulling it open. the smoke was thin outside until this moment, coming out in waves and somewhere in the building setting the alarm off. “sorry, i was trying to cook eggs.” sounds like a great excuse, right? maybe not considering it’s three a.m. / @apxstarters
he wakes up to the smell of smoke. his senses are a little more attuned than your average human — a fact of which he sometimes resents, especially when his neighbors are bbqing — so it’s likely he’s the only one who’s noticed. almost a given, considering it’s the middle of the night. a palm against his door comes back cool, means there’s no fire in the hallway likely, so he ventures outside. he doesn’t have a savior complex, exactly, but he’s not the type of person who can sense something terrible about to happen and ignore it. it’s why he starts knocking on doors, searching for the source of the smoke with apologies and half-smiles. when he stops at this one, he knows it’s the right one: he’s practically choking on the ashy scent. he knocks three times, poised for a fourth when the door opens. “ you were making eggs. ” he blinks, tone dubious. “ did you leave them on the stove for an hour ? ” IT’S A LEGITIMATE QUESTION.
ETHAN
“ did you? ” he thinks that’s overestimating the growth of technology, considering only years ago the only functioning hover boards were one, not only not true hoverboards, but two, setting themselves on fire for no apparent reason. “ i feel like if flying cars were on the cards doc brown would’ve broken the fourth wall to lose his mind. ” and, to that end, if he did they would probably be closer to that actuality. win win.
“ CALL IT WISH FULFILLMENT. i’ve always wanted to fly but i hate planes. ” he’s got no problem with heights, or even with enclosed spaces; it’s the people. packed in like sardines, elbows to elbows with strangers whose hands have been god knows where isn’t on his to-do list. “ i’d pay to see a good fourth wall break. i hope i live long to see it happen. ”
BONNIE
“To be honest, I can’t say I ever considered it.” Given for the vast majority of her life, her ‘normality’ had been an ever swinging pendulum between life and death, considering the future had never been high on her radar. Sure she had hopes and dreams, but the older shot got the more Bonnie decided it was better, no safer to live in the now – past and future be damned. “Maybe we should be thankful for that, least if Black Mirror is anything to go by.”
“ — never ? not even once ? ” now that’s a surprise. he’s always wondered about technological advances, wondered what kind of PROBLEMS they might be able to solve in the future as a result of them. ( flying cars, in comparison, might not be that earth shattering but he’s thought about it more than he’s willing to admit. ) “ huh. maybe i put too much stock in the jetsons. ” or he’s got an overactive imagination, contrary to everything he’s ever been told by primary school teachers. “ what’s a black mirror ? ” in truth, even before he died, he wasn’t always up to date on the latest shows and movies. ( movie nights in the bunker usually ended with him picking 80′s movies, everyone else groaning, and springing for pizza to make up for it. )
VICTORIA
“how old are you?” she was clearly JUDGING the grown man. even if by his final words, it was easy to assume that he had probably died somewhere in the past. “try again in about fifty more years. with luck there will be something more than the iphone xxx.” and granted, she would buy it. capitalism be damned, she had the money. except, then again, she would be dead by then.
“ old enough that i’ve owned a pager and a tamagotchi. i’ll let you do the math. ” he’s never really felt old, more like a teenager who kept physically aging but never quite kept up with the maturity part — an IMPOSTER of an adult, or a relic clinging to his youth by threads. now, on the other side of oblivion, he thinks he might finally feel some of that age he’s tacked on. “ they’re on fifty now, aren’t they ? 300 might be lowballing it. ” he’s never had an iphone, or a phone that had anything even RESEMBLING a touch screen, but saying as much would only reinforce how old he feels at the moment.
MASON
”You watch too many movies,” that was rich coming from the guy that was a complete geeky, and that watched all the back to the future movies. But he was not insulting him, just being playful, “But, in my opinion, technlogy did channge a lot, I mean, depending from which year you are talking about,” it truly didn’t change a lot from 10 years agao to the present, but probably changed more than people would expected.
“ not exactly. it was the jetsons. ” there’s something about saturday morning cartoons that make smile, even years later. “ it’s only been four years. aside from about twelve new versions of the iphone, not much has changed. ”
REBEKAH
‘ you have too much faith in the brilliance of humanity , ’ a millennia of growth and rebekah still hadn’t witnessed the wonders generations dreamt of . except perhaps women’s fashion , of which she is a proud pioneer . but flying cars ? deadpan smile find its way past her expression , ‘ nice idea , though . ’
" yeah, i know. i’ve always had too much faith in people. ” in ways, it’s his fatal flaw. it had MOST DEFINITELY led to his death, after all. “ if they can make refrigerators order your groceries for you, flying cars can’t be too far off. ”
MACKENZIE
“Really? Cause I thought we’d be living underwater like that Jonas Brother’s song.” A laugh emitted from the blonde’s lips as she shook her head. Not something she actually believed but it humored her enough before she tilted her slightly. “You know they actually have a few prototypes. They just haven’t been able to get it to be fuel efficient enough and pass all the other tests to get into production. Teleportation tubes would be pretty cool though. Very Futurama.”
two kinds of people in the world. she says jonas brothers, he says busted. he can’t help the grimace, though he forces it away with a laugh as he agrees. “ yeah, guess so. ” he’s not one for letting a bad first impression linger though and his eyes light up when she mentions the prototypes. he loves that; loves that there’s hope. he’s an optimistic person by nature so even if they’re just ideas, just words on some scientist’s blackboard of hypotheticals, he’ll take it. “ that’s incredible. ” he whistles, smile on his face. “ here’s hoping we see something in our lifetime. ” unlikely, yes, but there’s that optimism again. “ i read something the other day about these bullet trains they’re trying to build. they’d run underwater and travel from continent to continent. it sounds too good to be true but if they could make it work. ” he clicks his tongue against his teeth. “ GAME CHANGER. ”
the moon ; ten of swords
XVIII. The Moon - what is the most significant secret your character has discovered?
the rugaru reveal was a pretty big one.
━━╋⊂ Ten of Swords - was there a time your character has ever hit “rock bottom”?
NOT YET.
ー☆* Three of Wands - do you have any long-term plans for your character?
yes and no. i know where his arc could naturally end but those are spoilers since he’s a new baby.
◥█̆̈◤ Ten of Cups - what family memories does your character hold dear?
there aren’t very many positive memories of his father but whenever he got to see his mother, and his half sister, those would be the happier ones. his sister was four years older than him so i think he was always trying to impress her because she seemed so cool to him.
i think his happiest memory is probably a trip they took to the lake. i think they probably camped out under the stars, made smores, and he even caught his first fish. he’s got a little scar between his thumb and his finger from where he accidentally stuck himself with the hook and it reminds him of those happier times.
“ i really thought we’d have flying cars by now. ” the year is 2030, four years after his life was PREMATURELY snuffed out – or RIPPED out, if you’re getting technical, by the demon azazel. maybe he should be a little more freaked out, or angry, but instead he’s just disappointed. “ — or teleportation tubes. technology really hasn’t changed that much. ” @apxstarters
that’s ISAAC TREMBLAY not STEPHEN AMELL. he’s 34 years old and a RUGARU. he may be empathetic, loyal, & trustworthy but he’s also cautious, single-minded & vulnerable.
