A soft gasp left her when she saw the squirrel. Gently letting her fingers run through the fur, she then hummed. “I have always loved animals. Some people have told me that I am an animal whisperer. I find that to be insane but maybe they are correct” she joked, yet another giggle leaving her. She would always want to bring smiles onto others, especially during trying times like these.

    shin-ah watched as she ran her fingers through ao’s fur ,  a content expression on her face.  the little creature had always been right there beside him.  ever since he found her ,  soaking in the rain-- she had become his best friend.  ‘  a squirrel whisperer.. maybe  ‘  he said with a hint of a smile in his voice.  if ao liked her ,  then she must be a good person and she has a kind heart as well.  shin-ah has seen it first-hand.

(¸.• ♛ → Yona was truly glad that at least one of them were here but the truth is she wanted all of them to be here as well because she does miss them and she was worried, and well, she would love to see Hak because without him, she feels still a bit lost and all. A small sigh escaped from her lips now looking at the other one with a small smile on her lips. “Yeah, you are right, besides, they can take care of themselves and one way or another maybe they will find us here.” But for now they have each other and it was good that they weren’t all alone here. “Good, then we can go and you can see where you will be staying with me.” The redhead took him by his hand. “Come on, you know? This place is just way too strange, even when I used to be in the castle the rooms were still different…”

    the only thing they could really do at this point is hope that by some miracle ,  the others will show up.  it’s moments like this when he wished he were more like zeno: always able to lift people’s spirits no matter the circumstances.  instead, he was quiet & reserved but that’s enough as he’s beginning to learn.  yona grabbed his hand and he gave her a gentle ,  reassuring squeeze. ‘  they will.. ‘ he said in a soft voice.  he couldn’t help but agree.  this place was definitely odd.  nothing like kouka kingdom or his village.  they had more advanced tools & the buildings are sturdier. ‘  yeah.. it’s a lot to take in  ‘

Fudou is wasted. Just like his old days in the citadel, he barely recognize his talking ‘partner’. The only people who can stand his drunk ass self is either his master of the Oda Swords. Opening one of his eyes, Fudou continued.

“A pain in the ass..!” a chuckle escaped his lips. “But you knoooow, it wasn’t so bad! I mean, aruji is theeere, and the others is too! They accepted a good for nothing sword like meee, even though I’m a fuck up. “

He doesn’t know whether he is sober or not, but is that a SQUIRREL????

    it didn’t take long for shin-ah to realize that the man was.. not in his right mind.  he himself doesn’t drink but he’s been around others who do.  out of his friends ,  jae-ha-- a fellow dragon warrior is the one who partakes of alcohol the most ,  but usually it’s just to toast a well-earned victory.  shin-ah listened earnestly as the other poured their not so sober thoughts out.  shin-ah blinked.  sword ?  this person just referred to himself as a sword.  how odd.  considering shin-ah possessed the blood of the blue dragon deity in his eyes ,  it wouldn’t be the strangest thing. masked golden eyes glanced at ao and she turned towards him ,  her bushy tail swishing behind her. he nods.  ‘  ..this is ao.. my friend  ‘

“Down there…” He gestured towards the box that the dazed man looked at, recognising the system from when they were escorted in. He tried to climb to his own feet but with a few steps, the panic software in his system butted in. Nai crumbled to the floor again; knowing that his body was forcing itself into shutdown to preserve but he had to find someway to stop it. “I can’t… I am no longer able to move.”

    shin-ah looked in the direction he pointed at ,  then turned his attention back to the person in front of him and nodded.  golden eyes widened as the latter crumpled to the ground. quickly ,  he moved to his side.  ao sat near the wall ,  her usual happy expression morphed into a sad one. well ,  as upset as a squirrel can appear anyway.  kyuu.. looks like there’s no other option.  ‘  ..I can carry you  ‘  he offered softly, ready to give a piggyback ride any second.

yona  couldn’t  help  but  be  absolutely  enchanted  by  the  adorable  animal  that  she  had  the  pleasure  of  petting  ,  the  alter  practically  coos  at  the  little  squirrel  ,  scratching  under  ao’s  chin  and  behind  the  ears  with  a  wide  and  bright  smile  on  her  face.  ❝  yes  ,  yona  !!  it’s  nice  to  meet  you  ,  shin-ah  !!  ❞    her  attention  diverts  to  the  boy  in  front  of  her  ,  immediately  captivated  by  his  good  looks.  yona  was  immediately  attracted  to  pretty  much  any  attractive  boy  ,  but  shin-ah  had  a  great  personality  so  far  as  well  ,  it  was  a  perfect  package  !!  her attention  goes  back  to  the  squirrel  as  she  brings  up  her  other  hand  so  she  can  scratch  both  of  the  fuzzy  cheeks  of  the  animal.  ❝  ao  is  such  a  sweetheart  ,  makes  sense  since  she’s  friends  with  you  ,  you’re  also  a  sweetheart  !!  ❞

    at this rate ,  if yona kept petting ao like that the little squirrel may burst from pure happiness.  if there’s anything that she loved more than attention it was chewing on things.  acorns ,  food , shin-ah’s finger ,  that one rock she tried to bite into and the regret hit instantly.  ao ,  not wanting the petting to stop ,  rolled onto her back-- exposing her furry stomach and grabbed yona’s hand with her tiny ones.  pukyuu !  a huff of laughter escaped from shin-ah ,  which he hid behind a cough.  ‘  it’s.. nice to meet you too..  ‘  he focused his attention back on yona. ao has always stuck by him even when he lived in that cave.  she’s his best friend. the comment caught him off guard. golden eyes flickered toward the ground ,  thankful for the mask that covered half his face.  shin-ah’s been called many things: quiet ,  weird ,  m o n s t e r  but to be referred to as a sweetheart of all things ?  it was a nice feeling.  ‘  you.. are a kind person  ‘  he wanted yona to know that.

Once everything was done, once the wounds were patched up, she felt how a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Helga always put so much pressure on herself, it felt good to see results for once. When she heard the question, she turned to face him and flashed him a soft smile. “The patient will be okay, yes” she said and then looked at the squirrel. “Oh hey there” a soft giggle left her lips as she tilted her head to the side.

    shin-ah couldn’t help but smile softly in return.  a small ,  barely noticeable smile but a smile either way.  the woman had a warm ,  almost maternal-like aura surrounding her which would put anyone at ease.  in times of need ,  that’s exactly what people needed.  the sound of laughter caused ao to perk up at the noise and she tilted her small head to the side ,  mirroring the other.  ‘ pukyuu !  shin-ah lifted a hand and gently pat the squirrel’s head.  ‘  this.. is ao  ‘

“Fudou Yukimitsu, Tsukumogamiiiiii……….” that’s the only song that he can sing, Fudou takes another gulp on his alcohol as he buried his face with his long hair. Humans… are so weird. 

He never thought he would taste another sip of the alcohol again, being intoxicated again; wasn’t the best feeling.

But it does him well. Forgetting about his worries and nightmares.

    shin-ah was drawn in by the sound of singing.  he didn’t recognize the melody ,  but the person singing it had a nice voice.  except ,  it had a twinge of sadness to it he couldn’t quite place.  he approached slowly & quietly ,  not wanting to startle them.  ao ,  his pet squirrel sat on his shoulder ,  her head tilted in curiosity.  pukyuu ?   ‘  what.. was your home like  ?  ‘   he asked in a soft voice.  the seiryuu’s met some kind people here in washington ,  but he’d give anything to be with his friends.

However, now a small laugh escaped from her lips when she felt Ao in her shoulder and rubbing her face against hers. “I also missed you..” She muttered, now caressing his cheek gently, now her gaze was on Shin-Ah. “No, they are not or at least I haven’t seen them, I’m just very worried about them and I know we are together so that’s a plus but I would love to find any of the others, you know? I found a place though, you are staying with me, right?”

    the sound of her laughter put him at ease.  almost as if they weren’t ripped away from their friends & had no idea where they were or if they were okay.  despite his unease ,  he had a feeling the others are doing just fine.  after all ,  they could handle themselves and yoon’s hopefully with them so their stomachs will always be full.  a small smile tugged at his lips as shin-ah watched ao & yona.  ah ,  just as he thought.  if she hadn’t seen them and he didn’t sense them ,  then they really weren’t here.  at the very least ,  he was no longer alone.  shin-ah nodded and spoke in that quiet drawl of his.  ‘  ...I’m sure they are fine.  ‘   he wanted to reassure her in some way ,  in spite of the doubt in the back of his mind.  ‘  yes.. I am  ‘   he’d been sleeping on the grass in the park as of late ,  definitely more comfortable than the cold hard ground but how he missed sharing a tent with his brothers.

Just working on the person, trying to make sure that the wounds were all patched up, she sighed and then smiled when she watched the squirrel run around. That was the distraction she knew the patient needed to forget the entire ordeal. To go through this entire mess, this entire hell. There needed to be more squirrels around, to be honest. Once she was done, Helga leaned back and sighed, wiping away sweat from her forehead. “You can rest now” she told the patient and then looked at the man walking around wearing a odd looking mask. “Thank you for helping me”

    shin-ah watched silently as the woman worked tirelessly to help patch up the injured.  he was good with a sword.  bandages ?  not so much.  he could patch up a cut or two ,  but nothing too serious.  once she finished with the patient ,  ao scurried back to shin-ah where he bent down to pick her up and she hopped onto his shoulder.  shin-ah was glad that he could be of help ,  but he didn’t really do anything.  ao did all the heavy lifting.  he nodded thoughtfully.   ‘  ..no problem. will.. that person be okay... ?  ‘

Nai lay almost life-less as the corruption ate away his brain. In his mind, he could only see small flickers of green, static bursting with every minute passing while his own internal voice seemed to encourage the virus out briefly. Keep it together, fight it back and try to live. His finger twitched upward and his vision turned to the little creature squeaking to him. “Huh…?” His red eyes adjusted to the light, staring up to the squirrel when he heard the voice. Luckily, his voice chip survived the cold. “Computer….is there a computer…? I need… to reboot.”

    ‘  computer.. reboot ?  ‘  he repeated quietly ,  eyebrows furrowed in confusion.  the words foreign on his lips.  the seiryuu had no idea what either of those were ,  but seeing as the latter struggled to simply speak ,  he needed to figure it out and fast.  he took in his surroundings , golden eyes landed on a weirdly shaped box at the other end of the hallway.  is that it ?  no time for second-guessing now.  shin-ah bent down so that he was at eye level with him and spoke softly.  ‘  yes.. can you walk ?  ‘  if not, he could carry him on his back.

 yona  can’t  help  but  smile  enthusiastically  as  she  almost  squeals  ,  reaching  out  a  hand  to  rub  her  thumb  over  the  squirrel’s  small  head  ,  moving  down  to  the  chin  and  then  to  the  chubby  cheeks.  she’d  never  realized  how  cute  squirrels  were  ,  since  she’d  mostly  seen  them  on  the  streets.  her  other  hand  reaches  out  as  she  now  scratches  both  cheeks  !!  happiness  is  obvious  on  the  alter’s  face  as  she  moves  one  hand  to  tuck  a  strand  of  hair  behind  her  ear.    ❝  oh  !!  by  the  way  ,  i’m  yona.  ahn  yona.  i  figured  i’d  introduce  myself  since  i’m  petting  your  squirrel  and  all.  ❞ 

     shin-ah watched in quiet amusement as ao all but melted at their touch.  her eyes closed in bliss. if she were a cat ,  she’d be purring right about now.  shin-ah started at the name.  he mumbled , tilting his head.  ‘  yona.. ?  ‘  it shouldn’t be a surprise that people share the same name ,  but the person associated with the name.  yona: the person who found him in that dark cave and brought him into the light.  if she hadn’t saved him ,  would he still be in that dark & lonely place ?  he already knew the answer.  as yona continued to pet ao ,  he was glad to know that they were kind as well.  he turned his attention back to the other.  ‘  my name is.. shin-ah  ‘  it had been given to him by yona ,  someone very dear to him and he would treasure it always.

(¸.• ♛ → Yona was confused about this place but she was trying to get used to all of this, it was hard there is not point on denying it but she was doing her best. A small sigh escaped from her lips and now was walking down the streets and watching this new place. However, she stopped her tracks when someone called her, she turned around and looked who that was, a sigh of relief was there, the princess approach to him this time and gently took his hand knowing that he must be really out of place, if just with leaving his village was hard enough, but being here with a lot of people must be harder. “You found me.” She muttered with a small smile, almost comforting. “Everything will be okay, are you okay?”

    yes , I did.  he thought in relief.  the hand that held his own felt warm and made him feel safe. a home away from home.  masked golden eyes silently took in her appearance.  she was unharmed ,  good.  not one to be left out ,  ao leaped from her spot on shin-ah’s shoulder to yona and rubbed her face against hers.  a content expression on her little round face.  pukyuu !  it seems like he wasn’t the only one who missed her.  shin-ah nodded at her question.  always worried about others ,  one of the many things he admired about her.  ‘  I’m fine. are you..okay ? and the others — are they here ?  ‘  shin-ah couldn’t put to words how happy he was to see her ,  but he couldn’t help but worry about the others.

Just being stuck inside her bubble, trying to focus on the task at hand, she then looked at the other and frowned. Taking a deep breath as a way to calm herself down, she then nodded. “I just need someone to distract the person I am helping. I can’t do everything on my own, you know?” she said softly. There was no need for her to sound harsh, the other must be pretty damn scared as well. Everyone was and for good reason. The storm was just getting more and more intense by each passing second, so many people were calling out for help and she couldn’t help everyone which hurt her beyond belief.

       shin-ah noted how the latter took in a breath. she’s putting her own fears aside to help others ,  there’s no reason he couldn’t do the same.   ‘  ..alright  ‘   he nodded. even though he agreed ,  he didn’t know what to do. it’s times like this he wished his friends were here. out of the group ,  shin-ah was the most socially challenged. zeno would have people smiling and laughing ,  make them feel at ease. shin-ah had the opposite effect. donned with what some consider a creepy horned mask that covered half his face ,  a white fur piece that clung to said mask and a sword strapped to his back didn’t exactly scream friendly. steeling himself ,  he went to the injured person. a long moment passed which can only be described as awkward. the fact that shin-ah just stared at the person without saying a word didn’t help. from her perch on shin-ah’s shoulder ,  ao jumped near them and chased her tail ,  earning a soft laugh in return. a faint smile rested on shin-ah’s lips. once again ,  he was saved by a squirrel.

The Blizzard begins…: nai & shin-ah ( @ofserpens )

He luckily came out unscathed with just a few scrapes but no injury. All he could witness was the tiny sparks that hopped from the small scratch but there was no bodily harm. Nai thanked every God within this realm but fear was soon setting in. He saw the memories he had merge from the 2B girl who now excisted, the snow and the sudden helplessness. Now confined in the high school, he paced around the hall on his own; a sudden jolt pulsing through his system. Heartrate rose, the wires pulsed in overload and his eyes began to flicker crimson. The panic attack was slowly corrupting his system, stumbling until he fell to his knees. Letting out a weak cry, the android buried his head into the scarf to find some solace. “Help…me…”

      how many days had passed ?  with the storm raging outside ,  it was hard to tell even with the seiryuu’s eyes.  shin-ah glanced down at his lap where ao had curled up in the folds of his clothing.  he watched as she breathed steadily.  we’re going to be okay , ao.  suddenly ,  her ears perked up and she jerked out of her spot ,  scurrying out of the room.  shin-ah, startled ,  ran after her ,  careful not to disturb the other inhabitants.  a mumbled  ‘ sorry ‘  left his lips as he chased after the little squirrel.  she turned at a hallway and stopped near a person.  pukyuu ? shin-ah studied him ,  mask still covering his eyes.  there didn’t seem to be anything physically wrong but he appeared in pain.  slowly ,  shin-ah approached with ao at his feet.  ‘  what... can I do  ?  ‘  he asked quietly with a voice that didn’t quite match his intimidating appearance.  he didn’t have much experience with bandaging wounds or the like ,  but he wished to help as best he could.
