                 “ SO – WHAT’S IT going to be ? “, jim asked as he rested one arm on top of his small, beat up car, leaning into the old vehicle as he kept his eyes fixed on the person in front of him. he was about to head out to the nearest pumpkin patch to grab the couple pumpkins he should have gotten a week ago. “ do you need the ride or not ? “, he continued, lifting a brow. since he was going to the patch anyways, he could just as well bring the extra company.

☆ﾟ*·ﾟNODDING with far more excitement than she probably should’ve had, but Fawn didn’t care. She hopped into Jim’s car and clapped excitedly. The small girl was wearing a t’shirt with pumpkins on it and a pair of shorts with her favorite fringed boots, looking completely ready for any type of fall weather in a sunny place. She’d already been planning on heading to the pumpkin patch, but was going to head there alone. However, company, most definitely wasn’t denied, at all. “Oh gosh, thank you so much for giving me a ride! We’re gonna have fun! I’ve got my camera, and I hope you’ll let me take some pictures of you, and maybe I’ll frame them as a thank you.”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟWORKING at the animal shelter was one of her favorite jobs in the world. While she didn’t get paid for it, she couldn’t help but want to spend every single waking moment there. The girl knew more about animals than most people and only wanted to give every one a home. Walking through the shelter, holding bags of food, she was in the middle of feeding the animals when she saw a girl standing near one of the puppies. A bright grin grew across her face when she saw how happy the puppy was. Literally bouncing over to the girl, Fawn grinned. “The puppy likes you! He was brought in here a few weeks ago and hasn’t really taken to anyone. I think that’s a sign!”

he stopped to consider his answer. “normally, i’d say no, but i’ve had enough of pumpkins for today, i’ve been literally covered in them all day. and besides, i need to smell nice if i wanna impress the ladies and gents.” he winked and shot her his most dashing smile. “so, what is it? pumkin or no pumkin?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟLISTENING to him, she tilted her head to the side as she took in a deep breath, trying to smell the pumpkin he claimed he smelled. Stepping closer, she took a large whiff and couldn’t help but giggle. “You do kinda smell like pumpkin. But we can fix this if you don’t like it!” Fawn explained, reaching into her bag. She always had a couple different perfumes, while they were girly, at least they smelled nice. “I’ve got lavender, vanilla, cinnamon and something called sea breeze. I like the smell of pumpkin, but that’s just me!” Fawn pulled out the perfumes, holding them out to him. “I’ve always got multiple bottles in my bag, ‘cause I hang around animals a lot and don’t want to smell like animals.”

cara sized up the girl standing in front of her, taken aback for a moment by her sheer enthusiasm. good, she needed some energy. and her dress wasn’t bad. “well, you’re lucky then. i know all the best places in sunnyside.” the shady places, the exclusive cafés, the exciting bars. cara liked to fill her nights. she flicked a strand of hair off her forehead and grinned. “i can show you. if you introduce yourself.” 

☆ﾟ*·ﾟCLAPPING excitedly, Fawn was glad someone knew where they were going. She wanted to party, but she didn’t exactly know much about it. “Hooray! I’ve been wanting to dance and drink and have a good time, ‘cause I’ve never really been to a club,” she explained. The problem was that she spent so much time with her animals that she sometimes forgot to do other things during the week. She’d create parties for her pets and have tea parties for them, but doing anything else, with other people late at night, was not something she was used to. Holding her hand out, she grinned brightly. “I’m Fawn! Like the deer! And you?”

“weird question, but-” toulouse paused and bowed his head forward, “does my hair smell like pumpkin?” he took a step forward for good measure and shook his head so his curls moved around. “i had the kids carve pumpkins all day today and i showered but somehow i feel like i still smell like goddamn pumpkins.”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟ TILTING her head to the side, Fawn couldn’t help but giggle. She leaned in and took a large whiff of his head. Humming softly, she responded, “Before I answer this question, if you do smell like pumpkins, is it a good thing?” Fawn asked. She absolutely adored pumpkin anything because all it did was remind her of fall and the wonderful colors of sun and leaves. Besides, orange was her favorite color, so why shouldn’t she love anything pumpkin flavored?

cara needed a drink. black long coat, a dark red lip, a burgundy bodycon dress, the whole package - she was on her way to get a nice glass of red wine and the possibility of a flirt. the halloween launch had gone succesfully, the website hadn’t crashed, she didn’t have to yell at anyone. the world was her oyster, and she needed some attention tonight. she felt a pair of eyes on her as she walked through the streets of sunnyside, her heels clacking on the pavement. turning towards the night spy, she tossed her hair over her shoulder and tilted her head. “was there anything you wanted to ask me?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟ FAWN wanted to explore the pier a little bit more and do something out of her comfort zone and somehow, that was how she found herself walking toward one of those bars. She wasn’t necessarily the kind of girl that partied, but she did have a few outfits that would work.  In a cute sundress and a pair of cute cowboy boots, she practically skipped through the streets. Upon seeing another girl in the streets, Fawn practically ran over to her, bouncing up and down, grinning brightly. “I was just wondering where you were going. I wanted to go out tonight, but I don’t really know where to go. I don’t know much about anything around here really, aside from where the animals live.”

Since the school year had started, Lumiere treasured his afternoons off spending time with the town. Though he loved teaching, talking to people his own age had it’s charm as well. Meeting people when they weren’t stuck in a classroom could also result in some very different results. With a hop in his step, Lumiere took a seat next to another townie on the boardwalk, “Mon cher ami, you look wonderful today; did you do something different with your hair?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟHANDS flying over her mouth, Fawn couldn’t help but giggle, not at all expecting such a compliment, especially with the combination of French. Swaying form side to side, she found herself proud of her appearance and proud of the outfit she’d chose. The small brunette was trying her very best to look more like a girl and like she cared. She’d put her hair up in a half ponytail and was wearing a cute romper, something that she wouldn’t usually wear. “I did! I put it up in this cute style and actually washed it with good smelling shampoo! It smells like peaches!” Fawn stated, practically bouncing up and down. She was thrilled that someone noticed she’d been trying to better herself lately. “What about you? How’s your day going?!”

                  “ STILL SOUNDS DIRTY to me. “, tigger replied with a laugh and a shake of his head. “ but hey – i’ll definitely look it up. sounds interesting enough. “, he added, wiggling his eyebrows in a comical manner. when she seemed to agree with the idea of lizards, tigger couldn’t help but have a proud smile on his features, chin tilting a bit higher. “ well… squirrels ? birds ? f i s h ? i don’t know. “, he said, shrugging. and then, when she suggested him taking pics w i t h them, tigger had to really put in an effort to keep the disgusted look from his face. “ oh – well, i don’t know ? isn’t it supposed to be just the animals ? “.

☆ﾟ*·ﾟGIGGLING, Fawn put her hand over her mouth, trying to stifle her laugh a little bit, but wasn’t doing a very good job at all. She was laughing way too hard and it was incredibly obvious. “Oh gosh, you have to! And let me know what you think when you do!” Tilting her head to the side, Fawn pulled out her notebook, taking note of all of these animals, hoping she could figure something out for this project. These goats were proving to be very difficult and she didn’t know what to do anymore. “Well yeah, but I’ve got at least a few I can use and I think it’d be a nice touch to show what goats are like. You don’t have to sit close to them or even do it. It was just a suggestion. And you’re so photogenic!” Fawn tried to explain. “Do you have a favorite animal? Maybe I can just take pictures of you with those! I like taking pictures of people and animals.”

Roxanne had a little bit of paperwork she needed done to keep her permit and license to do make-up and styling in her apartment, so she figured going to the park could give her enough motivation and fresh air to help clear her head. She was almost done with her paperwork when she felt a familiar chaotic energy land in the seat next to her. With one glance up, Roxanne tried not to roll her eyes. “I know the fire department won’t help ya because I was there last time ya called and they told me too.” She sat up a little bit straighter and stared at the the younger girl. “You tore a muscle and I’m just now hearin’ about it? Oh, Chipmunk, why didn’t ya tell me sooner?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟWAVING her hand off, trying to indicate that really, she was fine, it was no big deal. Fawn was very careless when it came to animals and as a result, she tripped, climbed way too many buildings, trees and objects she shouldn’t. In her mind, animals were more important than anything and nothing would stop her from saving an injured animal. “I didn’t want to worry you, Ro. I was trying to help this bird back up into its nest and I tripped on the branch, landing wrong and tore a muscle in my calf. But it’s fine, really!” Fawn tried to explain, encouraging her friend that it really was alright. “It happens all the time. It still hurts, but we’ve just got to do everything slow.” Sitting down on the ground, she picked up Shadow and looked him in the eyes. “You see, even Auntie Ro knows we can’t get your frisbee. We’ll have to get you another, okay?”

❝ LISTEN, if you need me to put on horns for your project, i’ll be your goat model. ❞ perrie laughed even as she said it, but she was serious– she’d do anything a friend asked of her. she loved to be helpful. and doing something so simple for fawn seemed like a no-brainer. ❝ BUT, if you really need another horned animal… maybe deer_? ❞ perrie shrugged lightly, even as she spoke, trying to catch fawn’s gaze. ❝ when’s your project due? how can i help? _❞

☆ﾟ*·ﾟSNORTING with laughter, she pictured Perrie dressed up like a goat and now, her stomach hurt. It was an amazing picture and she wished she could take pictures of it right now. “You are such a good friend, do you know that?” she asked, grinning brightly. Fawn absolutely adored her friends and didn’t know what she’d do without them. “I have some pictures of goats that’ll work for this assignment, but I would love to get pictures of you dressed up like a goat. I can use them for my final project. She’s already got us preparing.” Bouncing up and down with excitement, she nodded brightly. “A deer would work well! I usually see the does, but if you can help me, I’d be forever grateful and in your debt! It’s due in a week, so I have time, but perhaps you can distract the deer while I take pictures! There’ll be such wonderful angles!”

“Favorite frisbee?” Hiro raised an eyebrow. “Are animals really capable of such…preferences? Maybe it’s a dog thing? My cat has 0 preference on toys. In fact, she mostly doesn’t even like her toys. She just plays with whatever string she can find.” this woman seemed more than a little upset at losing a frisbee, though, and it started to make Hiro. “Uh, no - not for anything really special. It is…Tadashi’s shirt, though. I used to steal his clothes all the time, but this is the first time I’ve worn one since…well, you know.” and then Hiro started to think, Tadashi would probably get Fawn’s frisbee because that was the kind of guy he was. Could Hiro be that kind guy?

☆ﾟ*·ﾟNODDING, her eyes moved up into the tree, looking at the frisbee.  “Yeah, I think it’s something about the shape of the frisbee. ‘cause I think animals are colorblind, right?” Fawn responded, crossing her arms over her chest. Looking over at Gruff, she found herself wondering if cats actually like playdates or if it was just a puppy thing. “Does your cat like other cats? Maybe the cats can play.” Bouncing up and down, she tried to rack her brain for a way to get the frisbee out of the tree. There had to be a way. Maybe the two of them could become a ladder and climb up the tree somehow. Once he spoke and explained the reason for his shirt, Fawn took a step forward and smiled brightly. “I really want to hug you, but I don’t remember if you like hugs or not,” she explained, swaying from side to side. In that moment, her eyes stayed fixed on him, forgetting about her frisbee, because at that moment, all that mattered was how Hiro felt and how he felt wearing Tadashi’s shirt. Because Fawn wanted to be a friend above everything else.

Nyx looked from Fawn to guilty Gruff, the little cutie. Apparently Gruff could feel Nyx’s eyes on him because the cat sauntered away from Nyx. “Ugh, Gruff doesn’t know want he wants. He’s a cat.” As Nyx approached the tree, they rested their hands on their hips. Why am I doing this? “If I get this Frisbee, it’s the last time, you know.” At least, the last time for that day.

☆ﾟ*·ﾟ WATCHING Gruff saunter away, Fawn couldn’t help but laugh, finding herself incredibly amused by their lack of friendship. She didn’t understand why her two friends couldn’t just get along. “He’s been very temperamental lately. Maybe he needs a girlfriend or something.” As she watched them move toward the tree, Fawn couldn’t be happier to have such a wonderful friend. Pouting, she kicked the rocks down by her feet. “I appreciate you, Nyx, really. I’ll find a better place to play with them. I just like this area,” she explained, swaying from side to side with a grin on her face.

               “ THEY JUMP ON each other ?! “, tigger asked, eyes wide with utter surprise as he couldn’t hold back a laugh. “ why the fuck would they do that ? WHOA – nevermind. i don’t think i w a n t to know. “, he quickly corrected himself, frowning now as a look of disgust grew upon his features. now he was thinking of what goats on top of each other could do… and really, he wanted to to think ANYTHING but that. but by thinking that, he was thinking exactly about what he didn’t want to think about – god, this was a vicious cycle, wasn’t it ? shaking his head to hopefully clear it of the disturbing thoughts, tigger focused his attention back on the girl. “ erm – aren’t there plenty m o r e unusual animals than goats ? how about… lizards or something ? “.

☆ﾟ*·ﾟLAUGHING, Fawn shook her head and waved the comment off as she explained, “No, no, it’s not a dirty thing at all. When they get excited, they jump on each other. Those videos are highly amusing,” she explained, thinking back to the last time she’d watched those videos. But now, trying to take pictures of these animals was really not working well at all. Putting her hands on her hips, she looked down at the ridiculous animals in front of her. “I’m about to switch, honestly. I think lizards could be fun. Do you know any other fun ones?” Grabbing hold of her camera for safety, she jumped up and down in excitement. “Ooh! Would you take pictures with the lizards? Or any other animals? I bet it’d be cool if I could get some fun pictures of animals being nice!”

Sarah nearly leapt from the bench when Fawn suddenly appeared beside her. She set her book down on her lap as the words began spilling from the girl, doing her best to take everything in. “Okay, okay, take a breath first.” Sarah dropped the book back into her bag before standing. She wasn’t about to climb the tree herself, no, first she needed to assess the situation with her own eyes then decide who to call. “Which tree?”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟTAKING a deep breath, using her hands to guide her, she sat there, doing exactly what she told her to, breathing deeply. Once she collected herself, breathing enough, she turned her energy back to the woman next to her. Pointing up to the tree next to them, she pouted, looking back over at her. “It’s that one. And it’s up high. Usually I’ll climb the tree, but I’ve been told I’m not allowed to do that anymore. It’s become quite a sore spot in the community. I tend to get stuck in vines and branches.” Fawn hated that she wasn’t allowed to just go get it anymore. She was generally fairly good at it, but it was those few times that got her in trouble. “Gruff is really sad.”

Nyx saw as the foam Frisbee fiasco unfolded, ending in the final throw and a frantic Fawn. To say that they were surprised would be a lie, but Nyx tried to be nonchalant as Fawn noticed them and ran over. “Fawn, you can’t keep calling the fire department or if your place catches on fire, they won’t come. And we’re in the same building so that affects everyone.” Despite Nyx’s words, they were already standing up and walking over to the tree. “And why are you playing catch with a cat anyways? That’s so backwards.”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟ LISTENING to their words, Fawn’s head dropped and she couldn’t help but chuckle. The problem with those kinds of phrases was that every single person saying them was completely right. At this point, she was quite certain the fire department didn’t believe very much anymore. Looking down at her feet, she looked up at her friend and pouted. “But they told me to call them when I got stuck that one time.” Putting her hands up in defense, she huffed and then pointed at Gruff as she explained the situation to Nyx. “It’s Gruff’s fault! He wanted to play catch and he likes when it hits the tree. It makes him happy and then Shadow likes to play with him too. It’s a whole animal frisbee playing party!”

Hiro almost immediately recoiled as the woman bumped into him when trying to sit down. He liked his space. He had just been listening to his music, zoning out, and trying to think of the next robot he’d build when she rudely interrupted. School had just begun and he was more motivated than ever to be the best. Pulling one earbud out, he looked at her - practically flabbergasted. Did he hear right? She wanted him to do what? “I’ll give you a dollar to buy a new frisbee. I’m not climbing a tree in this outfit.”

☆ﾟ*·ﾟPOUTING, Fawn crossed her arms over her chest, looking up at her frisbee in the tree. She’d been having such little luck with keeping frisbees for the animals, either losing them in trees or watching the animals take them into the bushes and get them so stuck there was no way she could retrieve them. “It’s their favorite frisbee, but I guess that’s fair,” she explained, sighing and flopping down onto the ground, merely sitting in the grass. Fawn couldn’t believe she kept losing them. It was absolutely ridiculous. “It’s a nice outfit though. Is it for something special?” she asked, looking the outfit up and down, finding herself very curious.

☆ﾟ*·ﾟPRACTICALLY running toward the person sitting at the closest bench, Fawn tried to sit delicately on the spot next to them, but it didn’t work out very well. With a bright smile, she swayed from side to side, trying her best to look cute in some way. It didn’t work all that well because she’d probably bruised herself. But Fawn had a problem. “Okay, so, I know you’re probably busy and all, but I have a problem. I was playing catch with Shadow and Gruff and the foam frisbee got stuck in a tree,” she began to explain. “See, this is the issue. I’m not allowed to climb in trees for at least another month, ‘cause I tore some muscles, and the fire department won’t help me get things out of trees, ‘cause I’m always getting stuck up there. So they just don’t wanna help unless it’s a serious emergency. So I need your help, please!”
