This wasn’t the Digital World anymore. Something felt distinctly different, something deep within AncientGreymon was slightly misplaced enough to put him on edge. The dragon found himself exploring this new land, taking it in. As unfamiliar as it was, there was something about it that felt familiar– many of the relics littering the ground were reminiscent of a time he wasn’t all too fond of. The environment was angry, yet comforting. Unsurprisingly, the beast of fire was at home in a field engulfed in the element.
His old eyes were thankful for the crimson atmosphere, watching the flames belching skyward almost in reverence. This was raw, a place of unbridled power. Surely, there would be no wanderers out this far, especially if this was indeed connected to the Digital World. The sand parted as his weight nestled in it with each step, his eyes on the horizon far in the distance.
To his surprise, he eventually caught sight of a figure on that horizon. Whoever it was, they were a fair ways away, but it was at least someone else in this quite literal hellscape; maybe they’d know how to escape and if it is indeed connected to the Digital World.
Drawing in a deep breath, he roared something fierce, hearkening back to the ancient ages of the Digital World where the Warrior Ten would shout battle cries before engaging another party. It felt good to let it out, and hopefully, it would draw some attention despite the distance. He wasn’t about to take flight or break into a run, especially on ground this unstable; shouting out was the only feasible method of contact here.
The roar shook the ground, and immediately Orca drew his sword. Beta or not, he should had expected that there would be monsters in this field, and part of him worried that they were contaminated like the others he had encountered here recently.
And from the looks of it, the hulking creature in the distance was a hell of a monster. The Descendant wondered if he'd even be able to fight it on his own, with his partner not here....Even still Orca took off at a sprint across the sands, fully prepared for battle.
However as he got closer, no HP bar or indicator appeared like a on normal monster, and for a moment fear jolted through him as 'Data Bug' raced through his mind. Yet the monster didn't hold the trademark signs or a databug, the glowing green scales....and it certainly didn't look like a phase. No, as Orca got closer, the creatures data became clearer. It read less as a monster, and more like....
Not a conventional player, but all the signs in his menu registered the beast as such. A sentient being. Perhaps an AI? He slowed his charge to a walk, lowering his sword as he gazed upward. Closer to the beast, it still kept it's intimidation yet there was something unendingly wise about it...
"Who goes there?!" he yelled to it, his usual put-on tone wavering just a bit from the sheer mystery.
