Not that he was tech-savvy enough to know how to do all of that. Or if visiting a site to book the trip wasn’t how it went then he still would feel lost as to how to go about it. Luckily, Ryuji had that completely done which he appreciates.

“I feel like I’m not contributing enough. I’ll handle the food and drinks then.” That’s the least he could do. After all, he finds happiness in the simple things — good food and good company.

He'll treat that as a vacation, a way to give himself the time and space to clean and tidy up his mind. And possibly find new arcade clubs to conquer with Otogi. Or even shops that would pique both their interest. He’s always up for a change. The best part is that what was impossible in the past is possible now in the modern world. He’s kind of curious about what new things they’ll run into.

He takes a slice of Tonkatsu in his chopsticks but becomes distracted by the sound of a notification going off from the phone lying beside him on the seat. It came from the group chat they have with Anzu, Honda, and Jou. Atem uses his free hand to tap on the notification which opens the chat to a picture of Jou taking a selfie while Honda is carrying Blankey, his dog, in his arms with a caption, ‘someone accidentally tipped over the jar with doggy treats’. Blankey doesn’t look guilty in the slightest but in the photo he’s giving Hondo lots of doggy kisses. The former pharaoh chuckles at the photo. Before he realizes, the little weight on his chopsticks becomes even lighter, almost like the slice is completely gone.

Atem blinks, fixating his gaze forward to notice Yuugi has taken his Tonkatsu slice. He’s a little amused by this.

“Is it good?” he casually asks with a smile forming on his lips. To be fair, he’d give his whole dish to Yuugi.

The sunset comes as a settled heart to the horizon, blossoming in red and gold. The warm hues complement Atem’s sun-kissed skin as he basks in the afternoon temperature. He pulls away from the balcony and enters the much cooler premises. As he does, he moves past Mana and draws the pad of his index finger over the tip of her nose in a light playful tap. He’s pleased with his own act, shown in the complacent smile on his facial features. Mana is adorable. Atem loves that spark in her eyes, it gives him a sense of safety, and her smile—which would go viral in a room from how radiant it is. Whenever they could, they would engage in playful acts. Atem initiates them whenever he knows he can be himself.

Not bothering to tuck his shirt in yet under the waistline of his pants and secure it with the belt, Atem leaves it out casually. He performs a stretch, raising an arm over his head while the other locks around it, causing the muscles on his upper back to tighten. He gradually brings his elbows outwards and rolls his shoulders to release some of the tension in the fibrous tissue. Before he knows it, he could sense Mana putting her weight against him and her cold fingers meet the hot skin beneath the hem of his shirt. With a soft inhale he processes the happening. Her frame is light against his own, her body is soft and gentle to the touch, so it didn’t bother him. While the cool sensation merely sends a chill down his spine, it wasn’t the most pleasant thing. As he exhales silently once he gets used to it, Atem shifts his position so he is facing Mana.

He moves into a sloping position above Mana’s smaller figure, motioning a hand to grip her at the waist, drawing her closer. His other hand searches for one of the girl’s hands under his shirt prior to scooping it out and immediately intertwining his fingers with hers in a careful yet firm hold. He is holding her in place with his lips ghosting over the crook of her neck.

“If you wanted to warm your hands up you could’ve just asked. I know a few ways to get the blood flow running.” He teases.
