Bombshells #25 (2016)
"Do you know what kind of fish you are?” Mera asks the small child as she kneels down so she can look at their face properly. “A blue tang. Did you know they can make themselves semi-transparent when they hide from predators?”
Stop opening and closing your mouth like a fish. What do you think?

DC Bombshells #54 (2016)
❝ I wouldn’t take that either, even if you ate fish. ❞ Her hazel eyes looked at the sample briefly, distate etched on her features. ❝ It doesn’t look… Really edible. ❞
"It's cannibalistic what they do... Do these silly humans not know they evolved from the water? From the sea?” Mera snapped, pushing the sales woman hand away.
taliaxalghul:
TALIA looked up from her own shopping to the look on the woman’s face, a tiny snort of laughter escaping her. “even if you did, those would make you want to not eat them anymore,” she said under her breath as she passed by.
It was pure curiosity that had brought her into the store, and Mera was about ready to make a scene with the spluttering woman who offered her the fish. “It’s disgusting what they do to sea creatures here..” She snapped, nose turning up in disgust as she turned to look at the dark haired woman.
“A handful of criminals once locked up are now running around Gotham. And Bruce has yet to eliminate the Joker.” Arthur had grown tired of the Joker’s theatrics - he had to be taken care of. “Nothing you cannot handle.” He grinned, folding his arms around her. It was good to be in the company of his Queen.
"They allow that kind of recklessness here?” Mera asked, tilting her head to the side. “And the league has done nothing?” She questions, trying to understand how a city the size of this one had gotten as bad as Arthur said it was. “You flatter me, my love, but I’m sure that this can be handled more efficiently with the league; though, if it were up to me, I’d let these criminals feel my wrath.” She hummed wrapping her arms around his neck.
You won’t ever lose me, Arthur. True love always comes home.
it’s mera.
“Whatever, pissy vegetarian,” he shrugged, talking as he chewed again but this time making sure the woman could see all the actions that was happening in his mouth.
"How dare you speak to me like that?" She snapped, eyes narrowing and fists clenching. “How dare you insult me?” She asked again, face pulling into a grimace.
“Gotham is not nearly good enough for my Queen.” Arthur’s eyes closed for a moment, soaking in how good it felt to have her touch him once more. “I missed you, Mera.” Placing his hands over hers, he leaned in for a quick kiss. “I’m afraid I’ve brought you into turmoil.”
"It shall do for now.." She hummed, happy to be back in his arms after being away for so long. “I missed you too.” She sighed, kissing him back. Frowning slightly, Mera looked at him confused. “How so?” She asked, tilting her head to the side.
“Disgusting.” He took one of the pieces off the tray, promptly throwing it into the silver trash can. After carefully wiping his hands on his shirt, Arthur sweetly rubbed his thumb across one of Mera’s cheeks. “I’m happy you’re here.”
Her disgusted azure gaze softened slightly when she heard a familiar voice and Mera turned her attention to Arthur who stood to the right of her. Smiling at him, Mera placed her hands on his face. “I’m glad I’m here too... Though, I’ve never seen a city like this before...”
“I’ll take it,” George offered before stepping forward, chewing on the fish stick as he looked at the red head, smiling as he ate. “Man, it’s delicious.”
Mera looked on in pure disgust as she watched the male devour the pureed fish that had been deep fried. “That’s atrocious.” She hissed, taking a step backwards.
"Are you really going to offer me that?” Mera asked, glaring at the sampling of fish stick the sales woman was offering her. “I don’t e a t fish.”
