“Sometimes it helps you cope with how things are here on earth. How dark things turn every now and then. To think of a different life somewhere else. Somewhere safe” he sighed, shrugging a little. “I might sound ridiculous but so be it. It helps me stay somewhat sane. The stars, the moon and outer space helps me stay sane” he smiled to himself.

“Kinda my thing” he said as he looked at him, looking down at the ground. “And it seems like I am just annoying you. So I can’t help apologizing over that”

“Wasn’t really expecting to drop all of my books. Should have planned that better” he chuckled and shook his head. “I am sorry” Amos apologized.

“Have you ever wondered what life would be like if we lived in space?” the Hufflepuff asked, tilting his head as his gaze moved to land on his friend. “Because I do all the time. I can’t really help but let my mind wander to other places. I just wanna know what it would feel like. If I would feel lighter”

“Long time no see” Amos said with a bright smile as he sat down, tilting his head to the side. Now Amos could never be angry at someone, he could never hold grudges. Maybe some day in the future he could but that day was not anywhere in sight. “How have you been?” he asked.

just a moment’s peace was all he wanted, punching the speed bag above him and working up a sweat was the best way he knew to relax. he didn’t expect anyone to come out to the pitch for any reason but he kept ending up wrong. “oh— hey.”

“Hey” Amos said and waved as he looked at Rab. And that was a dumb idea because the second he did, his books fell from under his arm. Sighing heavily, he crouched down to pick them up. Sometimes it truly did amaze him how stupid he was.

“I mean, honestly! Have you heard some of the drivel the younger years are spreading? I had to stop a fourth year before she made a first year cry by telling him that You-Know-Who was actually on school grounds. It’s ridiculous!”

Frowning as he looked at her, he then clasped his hands together. “People will talk. That is just a part of human nature” he mumbled and shrugged. “But everything about this gives me such anxiety. It scares me, you know?”

His words were nice to hear, and he seemed genuine, but she found it hard to believe. Most of her life, she’d been shown the opposite. “I appreciate that.” A small smile formed on her face. He seemed like the a kind person, who would actually stay true to his word. And she really did appreciate it. Honestly, she wished she was more like him. “You’re a true Hufflepuff.”

“And a proud one” he said and nodded as he looked at her. He’s always been proud of being a Hufflepuff. And he would always defend his house against people who were ignorant and just plain rude. A house is a sign of your personality, that was why being a Puff was a badge of honor for Amos.

Genuine kindness just throws me off.” She offered him a small smile. Rowan didn’t normally get into deep talks about things like this, especially with people shit didn’t really know. “I like the way you think though. You could do some real good in this world.”

Just looking at her, he sighed. It always broke his heart whenever people felt like this. When someone being gentle and loving caught them by surprise. God, it hurt hearing people say that. They were all so young in the grand scheme of things. And no one should feel like that. “I am here for you if you need someone to talk to”
