“Are you alright in there? You’re so quiet.”

It was stupid – the war had ended a couple of years ago, and things were finally starting to return to normal, perhaps even better than the way they were before. Everyone around her seemed so happy – they were all following their dreams, getting into relationships - hell, some of them were even talking about marriage already. Don’t get her wrong, she was happy for them! It just made her miss her late comrade even more than she already did, and left her with a sort of empty feeling.
She tried to keep her mind off of him as much as possible, by doing things such as training, or polishing her seemingly endless amount of weapons. But while she was at the training grounds that morning, she was suddenly reminded of all the times she’d escaped there with Neji to avoid the ridiculous exercises Gai and Lee would try to get them to join in on. After that, she’d returned home and sat in her room all day, reminiscing, which led to where she was now – sitting on her floor, tears threatening to spill over her eyelids at any given moment…
Until a soft voice at her doorway startled her from her thoughts.
The young heiress had caught the weapons master off guard – she hadn’t been expecting anyone to come visit her! She stood, quickly attempting to wipe away any trace of the tears that had somehow managed to escape the confinement of her eyes before heading over to the entryway. With a forced smile, the brunette opened the door.
“Yeah, I’m fine, I was just thinking, that’s all. Sorry if I made you worry! Anyway, what’s up? Is something wrong?”
