No matter how far removed I am from stunts, itāll never not be glaring when Phoebe posts a story saying sheās ācryingā because she misses spending time with Lucky after doing it for a week or how he is her āmost favorite little boyā in the world.
Or Lottie posting the siblings all having signed their names on a Heavenly note to Jay & Lottie signs it āLottie & Luckyā but they donāt write a āLouis & Freddieā, just Louisā name.
I feel like we are nearing the end because I feel like they are itching to start a family and looking at things beyond.
Agreed, it seems to really be on Harry's mind now and I'd argue on Louis' for longer. I hope they can wrap things up in the next few years without too much trouble and get on with their lives like they always should've been able.
my partner just casually mentioned the below song has the lyrics āYou would think I was Harry Styles, the way I always had Louisā
whether theyāre jumping on it for clout i donāt know but it seems a bit sus that they would choose to write and include lyrics as specific as this. also this remix was only released 3 weeks ago and as far as iām aware, louis and harry havenāt been mentioned in the press lately? many thoughts, much to think about. timestamp 1:48
No wait I know I said I was going to bed and not talking about babygate anymore. But it just hit me what it means the fact the kid was there publicly with Oli instead of other people the entire time. One thing is to post video/pictures about it and itās an entire different situation when you have them exposed like that in front of fans for a while.
Because there would be at least three other more convenient scenarios if we werenāt talking about huge fat lie here: 1) he should be there with Briana who is supposed to be his mother and responsible one, hello?? but of course he would call her Briana instead of mom in front of everyone so she didnāt even bother 2) Tammi and Brett, his actual parents, but again huge chances of him calling Brett daddy in the first opportunity. 3) Eleanor, who is supposed to be the supportive girlfriend and person Louis writes all his songs about and actually cares for Louisā child? she was literally there but nope.. they probably donāt even know each other. So they ended up stuck in Oli, which is literally the only āneutralā person not involved in the mess and having to pretending heās something heās not.
Harry was in love with Camille and suffered tremendously when they broke up, and yet most of this fandom didnāt respect their relationship until they saw that. Donāt repeat that with Olivia.
Hope hope hope hope! ok what exactly does being an independent artist mean š„ŗ
hi bb!
being an independent artist means that louis isnāt under contract for future endeavors with a direct record label. yet, he can distribute through a major label as well if he wanted. which is why the BMG aspect makes so much more sense now as a partnership regarding distribution and/or publishing as they can facilitate some of that grunt work an in-house label might have. tbh, the term āindependent artistā is such a great marketing technique as itās a nice buzz word within the industry and shows strength in confidence in your work and your presence.
going independent helps an artist maintain their masters rights, keep more control of their profits, control the creative process, and isnt tied opposite of the big 3 labels: Sony, UMG, WMG. so iām really looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds!!
Some of pop's biggest hitmakers are asking artists to stop taking credit for songs they didn't write.
In an open letter, the writers behind songs like Dua Lipaās New Rules and Ariana Grandeās 7 Rings said āa growing number of artistsā were demanding a share of publishing royalties, even if they had contributed nothing to a song.
āThese artists will go on to collect revenue from touring, merchandise [and] brand partnerships,ā they said, but āsongwriters have only their publishing revenue as a means of incomeā.
They added that composers were often subjected to ābully tactics and threatsā by artists and executives who wanted to take a share of the songwriting royalties.
āOver time, this practice of artists taking publishing has become normalised; and until now, there has been no real unity within the songwriting community to fight back,ā they wrote.
āThat is why we have decided to join together, in support of each other, and make a change.ā
The letter addresses a music industry practice that dates back to Elvis Presley, whose manager Colonel Tom Parker often insisted on his client receiving a co-writing credit on the songs he recorded.
Many composers acquiesced, using the logic that the money earned from 50% of an Elvis record would be higher than 100% of the same song, recorded by a less well-known artist.
Over time, the idea became so commonplace that it spawned a phrase: āChange a word, get a thirdā (as in, one slight tweak to the lyrics can get you a third of the royalties).
Until now, writers have been reluctant to speak publicly about the issue, in case it harms their careers.
Writers ācanāt pay rentā
The Pactās letter arrives at a time when songwritersā earnings are increasingly under the spotlight.
MPs investigating the economics of music streaming were recently told that composersā were being forced to take second jobs because they couldnāt make ends meet.
Iāll be the first to admit that when I read about NFTs my eyes glaze over a bit and I donāt fully get it.
That said, when the rolling stone article about them came out talking about applications in music, one major element stood WAY out to me, which was letting the demand set the pricing for unique/limited edition objects. Say an artist releases a special edition vinyl - the NFT system could allow for the fan demand to determine the ultimate price people are willing to pay for that item.
And when I read that all I could think of is the absolute bullshit of dynamic pricing at ticketmaster and a shudder went through my body. No NFTs donāt have to be used that way, but it definitely was an aspect highlighted for artists by rolling stone. The ālet the market decideā vibe. And I was like - Iām never going to be able to afford anything from my fav artists again. Sigh. So please Louis - please donāt do it!
