Personally, I think the “antis” have forced a lot of KS fans into adopting this extremely restrictive definition of what it means to “ship” two characters. So often I find KS blogs or posts featuring a big long disclaimer about how the OP “doesn’t ship it” and just reads for the psychological horror, etc., etc. Now, I’m someone who has a LOT of unhealthy ships (basically… all of the ones I’m really invested in, ie. Thramsay and Boltoncest if you care and are familiar with ASOIAF/GoT), and never before have I seen anything like this. Shipping, imo, doesn’t have to exclusively mean “I love these characters together because they are in a healthy, loving relationship.” Shipping can simply mean “I enjoy this content, which would end if these characters were separated.” Or some other definition. Honestly, the fact that so many KS fans feel the need to include disclaimers on their blogs or posts makes me sort of sad because it really shouldn’t matter whether you ship it or not and sometimes I feel like I can’t really engage with the fandom because I’m not willing to put a disclaimer on my enjoyment of the series, not to mention I feel like at least some people have adopted this restrictive definition of “shipping” to placate the ~*~antis~*~ who aren’t going to give a fuck either way. Anyway just my two cents.
