“Why won’t you blame me?”
“Because you have plenty of others already doing that.”
I’ve asked myself many times, when will I get over? When will I move on? It’s hard to accept the fact, and time itself isn’t enough to heal all wounds. How could I forget someone who became my strength when I was weak, my eyes when I was blind, and my shoulder to lean on? It was never easy to take a part of yourself just so you can say that you’ve moved on; you’re just lying to yourself. Everything inside my head is on repeat, and now I can’t escape from it. It’s not getting lighter, it is getting heavier but empty, and for me not to shatter I try not to cry, but I can’t.

Tea - Shunichiro Tachibana
It was the faintest wisp scent of milky tea that teased my senses before pleasing my lips. My eyes were heavy from the lack of sleep I’d endured the night before, a small yawn escaping me as I glanced shyly in the direction of the male who had stayed the night and made himself comfortable in only briefs at the other end of the couch. Becoming caught between the sheets together definitely wasn’t and hadn’t been my intention yet with the bruises painted intricately over my shoulder and neck that I’d examined earlier in the bathroom mirror and traces of lipstick nips staining his defined jaw and cheek, I was near sure we were both happy in one way or another - in some way - that the night hadn’t ended as early as we’d first expected. “Shun…”, I uttered his name softer than a whisper; yet this time it felt familiar - gentler than it had during the early hours of the morning, “Will your wife be home tonight?” His answer was nothing more than the shake of his head; hands snaking back through his hair as he remained composed with the aid of a cigarette as the weather forecast played on tv. Pulling my knees up higher toward my chest, I let the oversized poppy decorated mug in my fingertips rest a top them whilst sorting through the material of his shirt that I’d slipped on to cover myself with - it being long enough to almost be a dress. “Then you should come over. I’ll make dinner. Nothing fancy - just home cooked and simple.” The chuckle which escaped him was almost enough to conceal my sigh and acted as a bait as I was drawn in hook, line and sinker, well aware that this wasn’t something we should have been getting ourselves into. “Perhaps..”, was all he mumbled with a small, narrow grin. Perhaps? I thought to myself - it would be excuse enough to trip and fall into another night of sin.
Everyday I sit in the same room staring at the same door expecting you to walk in, you never do

I didn’t just lose what I had. I lost what I hoped for.

Sweet Writing Prompts
• "I need you here with me." • "I guess, it's just nice to hear your voice." • "I want to feel your hands in my hair." • "Whisper my name again." • "Years gone by and I hate the way I still remember your touch." • "It's late - but I thought you should know that I love you." • "Does your heart race when you see me?" • "Ten years later and you still drive me crazy." • "Perhaps, just for tonight - we could pretend we're still in love." • "For you... I'd do anything. Just ask." • "I see that your lips are still painted my favorite shade of red..." • "Just give my heart a break!" • "It's always and will always - be you."
Ways to Improve Writing Skills
1. Read. Even things outside of you preferred genre. The best books I’ve ever read go beyond the structure of the genre and touch well on things that are usually better handled in other types of writing. Reading also shows you more examples of characterization, scene structure, etc., and don’t be afraid to critique the book as you work through it.
2. Critique. Being helpfully critical of other writing is sometimes easier than working with your own, because you only have to work with what’s in front of you (like a reader of your story would). This can help you better prioritize what needs to be fixed first to last, plus you can get better at picking out problems and figuring out how to fix them.
3. Observe. In public, and maybe sometimes private, take some time to notice your surroundings and how people go about their lives. This can help with creating better description and a more natural setting/flow to scenes.
4. Talk. This is more useful for ideas, but find someone to bounce things off of. It doesn’t have to be anything big and they don’t need to know the whole story, just take one question like “How would you react if you suspected your friend was kidnapped?” and listen to what they say. The answer may not work in your story, but it can give you a new perspective that writers always need.
5. Take a break. And do some of the things above. When you return to your work, you may notice a difference in writing skill, even if it’s only on a tiny part of the piece. Breaks allow your brain to synthesize what you learn and let you recharge your energy, usually resulting in more confidence if handled correctly.
Good luck with your work and if there are any questions, drop them in my ask box and I’d be happy to answer.
i have no clue what i was making, daaamn…

"That's enough!" Slamming my palm down against the hard oak desk I felt the room around me begin to shake as a dozen sets of eyes glanced in my direction faster than horses moving on a racetrack. I could feel my heart shoot up my throat and into my mouth as nerves began to dance across my skin uncomfortably. He sat quietly in his chair - looking up at me with eyes as gentle as the ocean which I was sure I could still if I had the chance drown myself within if I wasn't careful. We were never meant to cross the line with each other. We were never meant to be anything other than professional. "I quit - consider this my two weeks notice." The words tumbling out before I had control over what I was saying, I turned on my heels and paced out of the office with a huff - screw the paperwork, the meetings, the 6am starts and the almost midnight finishes; if I wasn't going to be respected, if I wasn't going to be treated as human, if I wasn't going to be anything more than second best... he could find somebody else to deal with.
