Not sure that that’s what’s really being implied or not (given the director, writers and time period I highly doubt it) , but either way, this entire scene was still important. Baloo was accepting and laid back to a fault while Bagheera was far too strict allowing for nothing different and no exceptions.

It's been way too long since I've seen this movie. I love how Baloo is implying Bagheera should ask him to marry him and that it didn't even occur to him that it would be weird.
