Hestia didnât know where else to go. Going home was not an option, not if someone was following her. Of course she had to round the corner when someone was torturing someone â probably someone innocent. At this point she wasnât ready to interfere, which only made her even more ANGRY. Angry at herself. But even though she hadnât interrupted them, one of them had spotted her outside the ally and turned their attention on her instead.
The tall buildings around her disappeared, and before she knew it, she was there. In the burrow. It was the only place she could think of that was far, far away. Arthur caught her off guard, making her yelp in surprise. It was a miracle she hadnât knocked him over. Taking a step back, she took a deep breath. âSorry,â she muttered. âI just â I just I had to get away. This was the first place I could think of.â
The witch hadnât been to the burrow so many times, but it was easy to construct the  m e m o r y  of it in her head. She hadnât expected anyone to be up this late. She shouldnât have been up herself, but she had to make sure her friend got home safely. So seeing Arthur up, his wand out, as if he was ready to fight, made her even more worried. âIs something wrong?â she asked him, nodding at his wand.
his breath caught in his throat. with shaking hands he released an unsteady breath and bent forward at the knees, lowering his wand and hanging his head.      âblimey, you startled me!â he murmured. reaching a hand up he straightened his hat upon his head. it took a moment before he could feel his heart beat settle back down to normal speed. âi didnât expect any guests, thatâs all. sorry if i frightened you.â he apologized with a fixed smile.      it was sad that they times upon him had him so flustered. sad that a friend couldnât even stop by without driving up his pulse and making his hands sweat. he tugged absently on his sweater, taking in the womans appearance. they didnât know each other quite well, but of course heâd seen her at meetings and heard more than his fair share of talk of her. hestia jones. he was relieved to see her. âBut is everything alright then?â he added momentarily afterwards. âwe should go inside.â
