Saturday's are always the roll the dice #wod. We rolled: 21 min Alternating EMOM 4 Power Cleans 135/95 20 sit-ups 20 bar over jumps (over and back being 1 jump) So I'm warming up to my power clean weight of 95 and my coach Norm says, "You should do 115." And I just stare at him like, "You're kidding, right?" For context, my current max is 125. So we comprised and decided I would do 115 for the first 3 rounds and 95 the last 4. Except that once we started the wod, I was crushing 115 so I figured I'd stay there until I failed. Which I didn't. The very last power clean minute I even did 6 power cleans at 115 instead of only 4! Needless to say, I feel awesome. New teacher training induction started today. So far, it's been geared towards first year teachers. Therefore, I chose to practice my drawing and hand lettering skills. I just got a new book about hand lettering from Amazon and the hand illustrating section has some great tips! I never considered myself a doodler. Where do people got their ideas?! Turns out it's not as hard as it looks (and it doesn't come completely from thin air). I'm enjoying pushing myself creatively. Good for the brain, good for the soul. This empty closet has great significance because for the last two years, it (or a similar sized space) has held all of my school supplies. Today is the first day this space has been empty. Got me some silicone muffin liners to make egg muffins 🍳every week! In the summer, I usually have time to make breakfast in the morning, but once school starts. Girl, please. Egg muffins are one of my fave, easy breakfast preps. I can put whatever 🍅🌽🌶🧀 or 🍗🥓🍤 I've got left from the previous week in and go! I've tried not using a liner and simply sprayed the pan A LOT, but I still get egg residue on the muffin tin. And I hate sitting there scrubbing it. 😬 I've also tried paper liners, but they stick to the egg when I try to peel them off. Aaaand I've tried foil liners and those work well! BUT! They're an added expensive and waste! I purchased these silicone ones from Amazon for about $8 and I'm hoping the egg slides right out and then I can reuse them every week! No waste and about the cost of 2 or 3 packs of foil liners! Plus they came in 8 colors (other colors not pictures)! I intended to do 7 reps at each weight listed at the bottom of the page, but when I got to 85#, I realized that wasn't going to happen. So I adjusted. Last time I did this lift series, I only did 7 total reps at 95#, so I'm pleased that I got 3 reps at 95 and 4 reps above 95#! #progress #bearcomplex #ladderwod #wod #crossfit #crossfitlouisville #girlswholift #womenwholift #liftheavy #justmove #fitlife The push press is definitely the limiting factor in this lift series. And bringing the bar behind my head for the back squat. I'm confident I could push jerk more, but not in this series. At least not without a spotter. the thought that having surgery to clear out your sinuses could greatly improve your oxygen intake, therefore, make you much faster.
But I’m kind of serious. My resting heart rate is like 55. The moment I start moving, even casually, it shoots up to 95-110. And when I’m actually exercising, it’s like 175. If I’m running, oh god, it’s like 180-190. Which, of course, kind of slows me down. I mean, I’ve adapted and I’m pretty confident in saying that my body has become very efficient at using the oxygen it gets, but man. If I could breathe “normally”! I think I could make some serious gains. God, I’m obsessed. lol
