It's amazing what having a friend from out of town will do for your tourist skills. In five or so days, all of the things I did in New York I hadn't done since moving here last year: 

Ate at that restaurant Kanye has been raving about Played in the Washington Square Park fountain on a hot day Ate dinner in Chinatown Danced at the McKittrick Hotel Watched the sunset at Hudson River Park Rode the Staten Island Ferry Got brunch in TriBeCa Rode the East River Ferry Ordered Blizzards at Dairy Queen (...old habits die hard)

Last night a Lawrence friend was in town and got us into a sold-out Perfect Pussy show that was incredible, and then we walked from Williamsburg to the Lower East Side on the Williamsburg Bridge at like 1 in the morning. It was one of those memorable New York nights for the books.
