Hey, Char?
I think that someone has a good reason.
Your hope is disgusting, but whatever, maybe you're right. Believe what you wanna believe.
Hey, Char?
I guess I just want a bit more of a reason than that.
Well you won't get one, Jackson.
Hey, Char?
Of course they do.
You canât just forget about people who made you feel so good before.
Well you should know why they left. Because they could.
Hey, Char?
Well, maybe weâll know why they left?
Iâve been wondering for awhile.Â
You shouldn't care. They don't deserve it.
Hey, Char?
True.
Maybe we could try writing some of them?
What's the point, Jackson? We'll never see them again. They don't care.
Hey, Char?
Do you think some of them went home?
I suppose the one that weren't from fucked up homes did.
Hey, Char?
Iâm not sure. Have you got any idea where anyone went?
No. I think Scott went to Germany, but that's it. No one said anything they all just... left.
Hey, Char?
Iâm not sure.
We can..I donât know. There has to be something we can do besides sit here like this.
Oh yeah, like what?
Hey, Char?
Well, weâre here, right? At least itâs not just one of us.
Should we be happy about that? Everyone left, Scott left...
We are alone.
Hey, Char?
Well, itâs not just her
Itâs uh- Ava and..Claire and Emerson..everyone.
Yep. Everyone left. Whatever.
Hey, Char?
..Well
Among other thingsâŠ
What other things?
Hey, Char?
Long time no see, right?
I just really havenât felt up to much lately.
Is that because Rose is gone?
Hey, Char?
Itâs been awhile. I kind of lost track of time and stayed in my room for awhile.Â
Oh... hey Jackson.
PeeTa | Hanging On
Peter glanced at her and then looked back down at the bench. Charlotta looked haggard. Slightly ill. And he could see her shivering. Unable to help himself, he scooted next to her and lit up his palm and placed it a safe distance from her clothes, but still close enough that she could bask in the warmth. He sat silently, waiting for her to speak up. He didnât know what Char was feeling, but he wanted to make her feel better and hold her and make sure she was alright. He sneaked another glance at her and looked back down. When she replied softly, he looked up at her. âHi.â He said again.
He wondered what was going through Charlottaâs head. What had her so sad that she wouldnât share it with him. He shifted closer to her and wrapped and arm around her, mostly to feel her there and real, but also to heat her shivering form. âShould have worn a jumper.â He said, his eyes fixed on his shoes.
Finally Charlotta threw her finished smoke on the ground and crawled into Peter's arms, accepting his warmth and his embrace. She buried her face in his neck and wrapped her arms tight around him, savouring the feeling of closeness and storing it in her mind forever. She could feel hot tears run down her cheek. She had never felt so alone, even though she did still have Peter, even though she was over the moon that he was there with her, she felt like Tate had fallen apart on her. Every she knew had left. Green, Ellie, Edward, Scott... the last person she had ever thought would leave her had gone and she couldn't even ask him why. That was why she held onto Peter for dear life. Her greatest fear had come true and she couldn't let him go too.
"I'm sorry." She mumbled into his neck, her hand clutching his shirt, one that he had worn in different times, happier times. She was at her lowest low, she had never felt this bad before and it happened so much now that she was almost used to it and yet this felt like someone had shoved their hand down her throat and were clutching her heart and squeezing as tightly as they possibly could.Â
Wandering around the school by myself. Feels very empty.
Yeah.. Itâs quiet.
I think everyone left. Everyone I know, I mean.
