i've loved animals my whole life, but i chose another path professionally. just as i was finishing uni, i got the chance to volunteer on a wildlife sanctuary as a tour guide, and the rest is history! i now set aside one month out of the year to volunteer at different wildlife rehab facilities, and keep my love for critters alive in the meantime by curating this blog :)

i'm on a masters program currently, and my thesis will be about misogyny in wildlife rehab facilities

my favorite animal is the okapi, and my favorite class is mammals!

i LOOOOVEEEE when y'all comment on posts!! questions, emojis, blorbo talking, "this guy shows up on my lawn all the time", every comment is welcome and encouraged

i post wildlife exclusively!! no domestic animals

i will never post/reblog an image made by ai on purpose. if something slips through, please shoot me a dm so i can delete it

number of posts per day varies depending on how full the queue is, but i don't think it's ever been more than a post per hour.

none of the pics posted are mine except the ones tagged #my pics

i source every photo, but not always in the same way! sometimes you can find the source written in the post itself, sometimes it's under "source: (site)". this may look like "source: facebook" or "source: instagram", but when you click on that it will lead you straight to the photographer's profile

where i get the photos from: facebook, instagram, wikimedia commons, inaturalist, unsplash, pixabay, personal photography sites, deviantart, flickr. this list may change/grow in the future, but if i can right click and copy it, it's getting in here.

you can request posts of your animal of choice via ko-fi!!!! a buck for each post!! you can also attach a message to it and request it to go up on a specific date!

i do not tag any animal specifically for the time being as i sadly can't economically justify the time it'd take. all posts are tagged either with the same tag group, or with its original flickr tags if that's where it came from. i'd love for this to be a searchable archive, but it's just not feasable right now.
