A lot of our habits and beliefs are just social constructs, with no specific reasons why they are the ways they are.
Our upbringing can make us accept them blindly, becoming desensitized of their potential impacts. Thus, it is worth reviewing and questioning what we have been taught, and whether these habits and beliefs are truly good for ourselves and Mother Earth.
One example is what we consider as food. Some cultures find eating cats, dogs, or even whales acceptable. Some cultures don't eat pigs or cows. What impact are we making when we eat (or don't eat) those animals? It's worth contemplating.
When we're so used to considering certain living beings as food, we can become apathetic to their slaughter. This doesn’t apply only to animals, but to plants as well.
I had this realization because last year I saw a video of a cook preparing a fried cactus dish. It required skinning the cactus, and I felt so sad that I cried for it. I realized I felt this way because I had never considered cactus as food, so seeing it skinned looked brutal to me. In my eyes, it was as if a cute kitten were being skinned. But it made me question why I had never felt sad for other vegetables that are constantly being peeled and cooked, including by myself. It's because I saw them as food, and it was normal for them to be peeled and cooked. I didn't see them as living beings with a right to live.
I know my reaction to that cactus may sound dramatic. However, I hope this post can inspire you to examine what you have been conditioned to believe and how you have been trained to behave throughout your life, and start to exercise your sovereignty in deciding which beliefs and habits are beneficial for you and the world (thus worth keeping), and which are harmful and should be discarded.
I received this advice from my spirit guides back in May, but I completely forgot about it throughout June.
Recently, I found myself in a situation that my ego can no longer handle. It keeps insisting on "me, me, ME!", filling my mind with self-centered advice and concerns. I'm tired of listening to it. So, I've decided to set my ego aside and let my Higher Self take charge.
Fear of uncertainty can keep you in your comfort zone and make you miss opportunities.
Fear of failure can stop you from trying.
Fear of missing out can make you waste your valuable time attending events that you don't actually enjoy.
Fear of other people's opinions can limit how you express yourself.
Fear of self-reflection and introspection can make it difficult for you to be alone without your phone or other distractions.
Fear of abandonment can make you struggle with forming deep relationships.
Fear of being alone can push you to keep entering relationships, instead of waiting for the right person to come along.
By becoming aware of what you fear, you begin to break the cage that confines you.
Through self-exploration, you can uncover the beliefs and past experiences that may have contributed to your fear, then acknowledge and release them while adjusting your actions accordingly.
At first, it may feel a bit uncomfortable, but with time, you will be able to set yourself free!
Mars and Uranus will be conjunct around 4 July (next Sat) at 9° Taurus (sidereal) and 3° Gemini (tropical).
Mars can represent something fiery, violence, and a high dose of energy. 🔥 Uranus can represent unexpected events, space (extraterrestrials? 👽🛸), and earthquakes.
What could possibly happen:
~ earthquakes
~ seriously destructive fires
~ unexpected, massive violent events
~ the prominent appearance of extraterrestrials
~ airplane accidents or hijackings
~ earthquakes in the financial world (since this happens in Taurus, which is related to money)
If anyone has other guesses, feel free to drop a reply.
If anyone knows of any countries or world leaders whose charts have sensitive points aspected by this conjunction, please drop them as well. 🙏
True experts are those who often say "I don't know".
This is because, to become very good at something, one needs to be honest with themselves and clearly see the limits of their knowledge. They also tend to look at things deeply and from various perspectives, which is why they often feel unsure and recognize that they don't know (enough).
Therefore, admitting "I don't know" is not a weakness, but an act of wisdom and integrity. Only a liar or a fool would claim to know everything in this world.
I Won 2nd Place in a Poetry Contest in a Language I Barely Speak: What It Taught Me About Manifestation
I had never made New Year’s resolutions, but last year I decided to make one: to publish my Italian poems in a poetry journal in Italy.
This idea seemed almost unachievable or even naïve, as Italian is my fifth language and I only started learning it in 2022. I also have no linguistic talent, only sheer devotion. When I was a teen, I often secretly read graded readers under my comforter with a flashlight during my supposed bedtime, trying to catch up with my peers in English. My parents never noticed.
Unlike the other languages I have learned, my younger self never intended to learn Italian, and there was never any external pressure (e.g. career prospects or government policies) that pushed me to learn it. Yet the Universe made me. Interestingly, once I started learning it, I found myself quite in tune with the musicality of this language, and I enjoyed the process of constructing rhythmic verses. It also channeled my passion and love really well. Even I could hardly communicate in it, I already started writing Italian poems in 2023.
By early last year, I already had some drafts. What I was missing was someone who was bravo in Italian and had the literary sensibility to proofread them. Finding such a person was difficult because I lived in England. Even though I constantly attended Italian practice sessions, I didn’t get many chances to befriend anyone who had mastered this language, as most of the participants at those events were learners. A good friend of mine is Italian, but she left Italy when she was a child, so she wasn’t the right fit for this task either. So, I kept waiting and waiting.
Then came the once-in-a-lifetime transit: Venus and Jupiter forming a conjunction on a sensitive point in my chart last summer. It was supposed to bring me happiness and luck!
The transit happened to coincide with an in-person evening meeting organized by a local Italian practice group. I had participated in their meetings twice. While the people were friendly, I had failed to form a good connection with them. Over the past year or two, I would go once then disappear for months; afterward, I went again, and disappeared for a few months once more. On that auspicious day, I wondered if I should give this group another try, but I was skeptical. However, every time I asked my High Self (a spirit guide who has access to soul plans and past life records) if I should attend, the answer was always yes. To be honest, to my disappointment, I didn’t feel particularly happy or lucky in the morning and afternoon of that day. In fact, I even ranted about it like a spoiled child to a friend. When the evening came, it was time to decide whether to kick my butt out of my home or not. I was feeling lazy, and inertia had kicked in—I really preferred to stay on my sofa.
Again, my High Self insisted, “You should go.” I even used the fortune-telling robot installed in my psychic friend’s Discord server to draw a Tarot card about the event. The card encouraged me to go too! So, I summoned all my mental power to lift my butt off the sofa, and push myself out the door.
The meeting started off all right, good but not spectacular. Then, in the second part of the gathering, a Sicilian man asked me to speak more about myself because he had never met me before. I decided to respond naughtily and potentially off-puttingly, so I said I was passionate about astrology. He was confused, and thought astrology was just those silly horoscope predictions based only on sun signs in newspapers, so he asked me to guess his sign. I told him that astrology uses many stars and is much more complex than just the sun sign. Fortunately at the table, there was a lady whose mum was a Western astrologer, and another lady who somehow knew quite a bit about astrology even though she didn’t study or use it personally. They helped me explain. Later, Mr. Sicilian asked me to sit next to him (we had been sitting nearly across the table) and tell him more. So I did. I decided to read his chart right there, using a website with a Vedic chart calculator.
I looked at his chart, and instantly saw that he had a technical career, engineering of the sort. I said that. He joked, “No! I am uneducated!” The Italian lady sitting opposite us shook her head because she knew he was lying. It turned out that he was actually an IT professional, technical career indeed. Next, I saw his 4th house had become active recently. Hence, I asked, “Did you recently buy a home, or have you been thinking about it?” He replied, “I just bought one six months ago!” The Italian man sitting on the other side of him was shocked.
The night then unexpectedly turned into a night of my spiritual talk! I spoke about some deeply spiritual topics, such as how this world has a lot of pain, and how the human journey is full of ups and downs. By studying astrology, I said, we can become less troubled by the sufferings and failures in life, hence allowing us to navigate life with more ease. I even touched on how astrology helps us understand the illusion of the physical world and move toward spiritual liberation. They actually listened!!
By the end of the night, Mr. Sicilian asked me to come to the meeting again. The Italians also told me that they had a WhatsApp group for the gathering, and invited me to join. When I joined, the Italian gentleman who was shocked by my housing prediction introduced me to everyone as “someone very nice”.
About a couple of weeks after that amazing gathering, one day while sitting on the toilet (😂), the astrology chart of Mr. Sicilian suddenly popped into my mind, and I realized that he had a Saraswati yoga! In Vedic astrology, Saraswati yoga is a planetary alignment involving Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter placed in certain houses, with Jupiter being strong. A person with this alignment in their chart can be very good at classical knowledge, literature, or arts, such as music or painting. So, I wondered, “Is he the person who can help me edit my poems!?”
The following Sunday, I consulted my psychic friend, who was holding a channeling session with dowsing rods, and asked if Mr. Sicilian could help me. His rods moved to the yes position immediately, and my friend said, “Isn’t it obvious?”, as in “it’s so obvious that why do you even need to ask?”
Thus, I decided to write to Mr. Sicilian, tell him my New Year’s resolution, and ask if he was willing to help. He said yes!
Mamma mia, it turns out that his Saraswati yoga is the real deal! He not only corrected my linguistic mistakes, but also gave in-depth suggestions on how to improve certain verses! He was also patient and willing to take the time to work with me through multiple iterations. I feel truly fortunate to have received his help.
After we finished editing, I was a little disappointed to discover that the journal I had originally planned to submit to wasn’t open for submissions. Out of curiosity, I decided to search for alternatives. I found a website listing poetry competitions throughout Italy, some with specific themes and some without. One of them had a close deadline, accepted poems on any topic, and would publish the works of all winners and finalists together in a book. This aligned perfectly with my goal of getting my work published in Italy. I wondered whether this competition was meant for me.
I checked with my High Self, and they advised against submitting all of my available poems to the competition. However, my psychic friend received a message that I should submit. I was confused. I discussed this with another spiritual friend, and she drew some Tarot cards for me (something she rarely does for others!). The cards also gave me a “yes.” “Why was my answer from my High Self different from theirs?” I wondered.
Soon, I realized the reason: my High Self only wanted me to submit two of my poems instead of all! I quickly followed the submission instructions, and sent all the required materials to the organizers right before the deadline.
While submitting, I thought: “I’m not a native speaker. The first place should go to a native speaker, otherwise it would be ridiculous. But the second place sounds wonderful: losing only to one person while still ranking above everyone else. I want that.”
After my submission, I mentally set it aside and focused on other aspects of life.
A little over a month later, I received an email from an organizer congratulating me on my achievement, with a certificate attached. I was shocked because I had received EXACTLY what I had asked for! At the same time, I found the situation both ridiculous and hilarious (ok, in the end, I still found it ridiculous despite not winning first place!) because this little potato who could barely speak Italian had won second place among 682 submissions. The announcement website listed the names of all the winners and finalists: they all had Italian names. I might be the only non-Italian among them.
As a courtesy, I wanted to write a thoughtful reply to that email. I wanted to properly thank the organizers for the opportunity and also confess to them that I was actually a foreigner who had been studying their language passionately. Finding the right words for that message was difficult. It took me a week.
And so, dear reader, this is how I achieved the impossible. This experience offers a few key points about manifestation:
Set a clear intention. 🎯 At the same time, listen to your heart. If your desires evolve over time, it is okay too! In my case, I initially only wanted to publish my poems in a journal, without winning a competition. However, I changed my mind later. Eventually, I both won a competition and achieved my goal of getting my work published.
Don't be lazy! Manifestation requires taking important actions at the right time. I had to attend the meeting in order to meet Mr. Sicilian on that auspicious day. If I hadn't gone, nothing would have happened. Therefore, when your intuition or spirit guides ask you to take action, or you see signs telling you to do so, move swiftly!
It can be beneficial to be aware of the potential hurdles (in my case, my extremely imperfect Italian), but you don’t need to focus too much on them. Instead, focus on attracting the necessary support and solutions that will allow you to overcome them.
You don’t need to care about the details of how to manifest your goal. The Universe will take care of it.
If unsure, seek advice from your High Self and intuitive friends. My High Self guided me toward Mr. Sicilian. My friends helped me confirm that entering that poetry competition was the right choice by using channeling and Tarot card reading. Your team can help you too!
Let go of expectations. The Universe may have another plan for you, so sometimes we may ask for something but it never arrives. Instead, something even more suitable for you will knock on your door.
(Bonus step) Release any negative energy and limiting beliefs that could prevent manifestation. They can be identified by paying attention to your own thoughts and emotions. If you need tips on how to release them, my article here provides many techniques.
This article has summarized my Italian poetry journey so far. This is a story of manifestation; a reflection on how we can receive guidance and messages from the Universe and our spirit guides through astrology, Tarot and channeling; a love letter to the Italian language, and poetry; and a homage to humanity's passion and devotion toward what they love!
Lastly, may your own intentions find their way into reality, guided by divine timing, intuition, and the signs and support that appear along your journey. I wish you luck in reaping the fruits of your manifestation!
To manifest: you can FOCUS on using the Law of Attraction by NOT FOCUSING on it. ✨️
This is because manifestation is not a mental exercise that requires a lot of focus.
It's about setting your intention, NOT focusing on the current situation, and letting go of the outcome to the Universe. 🌌
Not focusing on the current situation is particularly important because our thoughts and emotions carry energy. If we focus on a situation of lack, we sustain that state. By placing our attention elsewhere, we allow things to transform.
Therefore, by NOT focusing on your manifestation, you are actually focusing on allowing it to come to fruition! 🍇
Avebury Henge and Stone Circles have healing powers.
A friend took me there on Tue. I originally didn't plan to touch the stones, but he suggested that I touched them to see if I could sense anything. So I did, for the sake of experimentation.
I chose to touch 3 of them, guided by my intuition:
When I touched the first one, I felt a pleasant chill around my heart, and then some of that sensation moved downward until it reached my belly. It made me realize that I had some energetic blockages there.
With the second one, I also felt a good sensation around my heart, but I also felt some tingling around the lower parts of my shins, as if I was being grounded and some negative energy was being pulled out of me from there.
With the third stone, I felt as if some "clouds" were being removed from my head. Then, I worked together with the stone to release the negative energy in my belly that I had noticed while touching the first stone.
I had a revelation last Saturday about why humanity is full of pain and wars.
I realized that it's because many of us have a desire to experience the intense emotions that come from them, and the Universe creates a reality for us based on that desire and those emotions. Even if we don't consciously recognize that desire, pay attention to the music, shows, and video games we enjoy. Many of them are filled with pain, suffering, and conflict.
I noticed this because I recently listened to the songs I used to love years ago and discovered that many of them were very sad.
This post is not about blaming people who are suffering. Rather, it's an invitation to reflect on what kinds of desires you have and what emotional energy you've been generating, and to consider whether you want to change them, especially if you're seeking transformation in your life.
At the same time, going through turmoil can be a way of extracting the nectar of life. Your soul may even desire challenges in order to learn and grow. There is no right or wrong here, and nothing is purely black and white. However, it may be worth paying attention to the activities you engage in and the emotional energy they generate, then making changes that you believe will benefit you.
I was taught the wrong history about how science and religion separated, maybe you were too?
For years, I thought the separation of science and religion was caused by the Church suppressing scientific development, such as the heliocentric model proposed by Copernicus in 1543.
But last week, I was shocked to learn that this wasn't true.
Indeed, the Catholic Church opposed that model and put Galileo on trial for supporting it. However, throughout history, the Church conducted only 12 trials related to scientific issues, and only one scientist, Giordano Bruno, was executed—not for science, but for his religious beliefs, including reincarnation and anti-Trinitarian views [1].
Instead, to my surprise, Christianity contributed to science both directly and indirectly. For example, God was invoked as an argument when Francis Bacon tried to convince others that scientific methods would benefit humanity. He reasoned that God had bestowed Reason upon humans, thus by using this gift, humanity could build a better future [2]. Inquisitors invented peer review because they felt responsible for verifying the experimental results described in the books that they were censoring, so they built labs and reconducted those experiments [3]. Many famous scientists, such as Gregor Johann Mendel (the “father of modern genetics”), were clergymen.
In fact, the separation between religion and science is a relatively recent development that gained momentum in the late 19th century, after the publication of Darwin’s theory on evolution. Triggered by the then-controversial idea that humans had evolved from apes, advocates on each side attempted to portray the other as the enemy. At that time, two best-selling books in the U.S. accused the Church as science’s enemy, fueling the separation like a wild fire [4]. Now that I have learned the true history, I realize that my younger self suffered from the propaganda that had caused the separation more than a century ago.
I wonder whether, as a consequence, this separation caused science to focus exclusively on physicalism, instead of including topics that are non-physical but could still be investigated through scientific methods. As a result, it caused a separation more than between science and Christianity, but a rift between science (which focuses on physicalism) and non-physical “spiritual” aspects of life. Thus, some topics can be deemed nonexistent and swept under the carpet instead of being formally acknowledged and studied, or be given a flawed explanation based on physicalism. Example are astral projection and near-death experiences.
As some fields of science (e.g. the study of consciousness) begin to seek answers to questions that may require navigating beyond the current standard approach based on physicalism, it is time for us to move forward from this post-Darwin divide. To begin, we can consider the following:
Where and how should we draw the line between science and spirituality?
What do science and spirituality truly mean?
How can we better explore the profound questions so deeply connected to the understanding of our world and existence by integrating relevant scientific and spiritual approaches?
Addressing this issue will require a collective effort from humanity, and years to find the right balance. In the meantime, this little potato me has to correct the history slide from my talk on the reconcilability between science and spirituality that I gave two years ago because, apparently, that slide was so wrong.

According to Chinese astrology, we've just entered a super fiery month 🔥
🌍 Background 🌍
This year is the Year of the Fire Horse, and the Horse also carries the element of fire. That means this year has double fire. 🔥🐎 This month, meanwhile, holds the elements of wood and fire, but wood fuels fire. In summary, this month is fire on steroids!
⚠️ Caution ⚠️
Be careful of themes related to the fire element: physical fire (of course), anger, rage, conflicts, and wars. Fire is also intangible, so be cautious with things that are intangible, such as digital, spiritual, or mythical matters. Fire can also be hazy, so it can represent scams.
🧧 Advice 🧧
Restrain yourself and try not to get into impulsive fights with anyone, whether physical or verbal. (If you need help channeling your anger, feel free to ask me for tips.) Be careful of scams, particularly fake spiritual teachers and gurus.
Hi! Today, I'm sharing an example of how you can change your perspective to control your feelings and influence your decisions.
Recently, a friend I've known for a few years agreed to attend an event with me but didn't show up. I waited for her for 2 hours and missed the last part of the event. I texted her, and I knew her phone had received the message, but she didn't respond until after I told her I was leaving.
Later, she gave me some reasons, but both my other friends (one of them is a psychic) and I felt she wasn't being completely honest. She also never apologized, even after I told her I had waited for two hours. What confused me was that she had given me significant help earlier this year and had generally been a reliable friend except this time.
On the other hand, this incident triggered me to reflect on many friendship-related betrayals from my past. It helped me release some emotions and do some healing.
Because of that, I wondered whether, in some sense, her soul had provided a service by triggering this healing process. I also asked my psychic friend for a Tarot reading about why she had lied and what the truth was. The reading didn't explain why she had lied, but it did suggest that the event was connected to my healing.
So, there are at least 3 perspectives I can apply here, along with 3 possible ways to act:
1) She made me wait for two hours, wasn't honest about the reason, and never apologized. It was a betrayal, and I won't continue this friendship.
2) She wasn't honest this time, but she has been a helpful friend over the years. I'll give her a pass this time. Maybe something embarrassing happened that made her unable to come or tell me what was going on.
3) Even though, from a mundane point of view, she did something hurtful, from a higher perspective her actions ultimately contributed to my well-being. Given our years of friendship, I'll give her another chance and see whether our friendship returns to normal.
It's crazy how mental health issues can significantly amplify past regrets.
For example, when I was a teen, I dreamed of becoming a theoretical particle physicist. When I got into grad school at 22, a renowned experimental particle physicist offered me the opportunity to work under her. It was an attractive offer, so I took it. However, during the first two years, I still wondered whether I should stay under her wing or switch to pursue my childhood dream. Eventually, I stayed and completed my PhD in experimental particle physics rather than theoretical particle physics.
It wasn't a bad decision. In fact, it came with many benefits, such as graduating on time and receiving greater recognition. But when I was suffering from severe PTSD a few years ago, that decision really haunted me. I felt that I had chosen an easier path over my dream and had therefore betrayed myself. I also questioned whether I had strength and integrity.
It's true that I chose the easier path, but it hurt no one, and I still learned and gained a lot on this path. Yet, my mind kept attacking me. Now that I've recovered, I no longer feel any regret about my life, even though I still remember the mistakes and imperfect decisions I've made.
It makes me wonder whether having a lot of regrets is a symptom of mental health issues. On the other hand, having many regrets may also contribute to mental health problems. So regrets and mental health problems may act as a positive feedback loop, trapping us in a cycle of pain.
Mental health issues can affect anyone, regardless of their social or financial status. Astrology reflects this as well.
In astrology, there are certain planetary alignments in a birth chart that indicate the possibility of mental health challenges (e.g. Saturn aspecting the Moon), and anyone can be born with such alignments.
There are also planetary transits that may bring about these difficulties for a period of time, such as Saturn transiting over a person's natal Moon. Everyone over the age of 30 has to experience this transit at some point in life. While not everyone will experience severe depression during that time, there is a general consensus among astrologers that it can be a difficult period marked by challenges, responsibilities, and emotional heaviness.
Therefore, if you feel guilty about having a privileged life while still facing mental health challenges, please remember that these issues can affect anyone. They are not your fault, but a natural part of the human experience. 🙏
For example, for one individual, opportunities come if they keep actively trying to create or find them. But for another person, it is about letting go of all expectations and allowing opportunities to present themselves.
It also means that some seemingly practical and logical approaches are beneficial only to certain groups of people, but not to others. Likewise, some methods that society considers impractical and illogical are actually practical, logical, and beneficial.
