Thatās okay, because you the best, you deserve a crown, bitch. Right on that ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass.
We both know that I'm the one with the crown and you're the one with the ass.
But all of me loves all of you. All your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections.
That's the difference between you and I, Mar.
You know I canāt sleep without you. Which means youād end caving.
I'm only caving if you stop dancing on me, because you know it's not fair to do that. I'm on my period.
I took a nap and now Iām really hyper and I canāt stop singing and dancing and no one will be able to stop me.
Maybe you'll stop when you find yourself sleeping alone tonight, because this behavior definitely means it's sleeping-on-the-couch night.
Ash and I are trying to play video games in peace!
Excuse me, why wasnāt I informed?
Because this is our bonding time without actually having to make up.
I donāt know how I havenāt strained my voice with how loud Iāve been singing for the past two hours. Literally, non-stop. Whistle notes and all. Iām like God. Or Mariah Carey
Ash and I are trying to play video games in peace!

"Yes you have." Marley said in a matter of a fact voice. "Youāve been here everyday, from my memory, and Iām glad you have been. Thereās been times when I havenāt heard Ashtonās voice and Iāve heard yours. Iām not saying heās only been here once or twice, but youāve been here enough. Granted, he spends almost all day with me and youāre only here for a little bit of time, it doesnāt mean any worse to me." Marley said, looking into Avaās eyes. "I accept your apology, but I donāt think you should have apologized."
"I-I-" Just hearing Marley's voice caused Ava's heart to sink with guilt. She hadn't done anything completely and entirely wrong. It was all their friends who had made her think she had and now, she believed it. "I have to go... they should be here soon. I'm sorry Marley." She stood from the chair that was put beside the hospital bed. "Bye. I love you." That was the last thing she said before leaving the same way she came. Once she was in the tree safely, she heard the door open in her room. From what she could see before climbing down, it was Brogan and Elliot.

Marley pouted at Avaās refusal, but melted in touch as the grip grew stronger on her hand. āWait, why? Why would none of them like you? Whatād you do?ā Marley sighed, knowing it probably wouldnāt be something she wanted to hear. Part of her wanted to let go of Avaās hand, not really knowing what was ahead of her. She didnāt know if it would break her heart or if it was all just something Ava did in general. āPlease tell me.ā
Ava didn't even let the girl finish talking before she began to shake her head. "No, no, no." She said, finally mustering up the courage to look in to Marley's eyes. "I didn't do anything, I swear." She was lying, well almost. She never did anything but drown herself in sorrows and a ton of alcohol. That was always the blonde's way of grieving and Ashton, being her best friend, knew that already. But, he still yelled at her every time she got this way. "Just know that I'm sorry, okay? I haven't been here as much as Brogan or Elliot or Ashton. And I'm sorry." She sighed heavily. "Even Holly's been here more than me."

Marley tried her hardest to keep the kiss going, but her lungs burned from lack of air. She pulled back and coughed a bit, closing her eyes as she felt weak again. Regaining her strength, she looked back up at Ava with a soft laugh. āWell, one, yes, really, and two, I donāt have a lot of air, but Iād like you to kiss me again because⦠wow.ā She joked, using everything she had in her to reach out and grab Avaās hand, lacing their fingers. She had never seen the other girl so vulnerable and it honestly left her in awe to know that she trusted Marley now and that sheād do anything to be with her. āAre you the only one here?ā
Ava squeezed Marley's hand gently once their fingers were intertwined. "No.." She shook her head when the girl asked for another kiss. There wasn't anyway she was going to take her girlfriend's air for her own satisfaction. Nodding, she sighed. "Yeah. I am." She coughed out whatever tear was still choking her. "I tried to call Ashton, but none of them really like me right now." And it was true. They were all super pissed and if anything, they were more pissed now that Ashton most likely ran to tell them about what she's been up to.

Marley couldnāt help but let a few tears fall as she saw Ava for the first time in what seemed like forever. She was still as beautiful as ever, even with the tears and makeup streaming down her face. It was still pretty hard for her to move, but at least she could feel everything properly, especially the kiss that landed on her forehead. āWhat?ā Marley chuckled out at the odd question. As she looked back up to Ava, she realized the girl was serious. āI..ā She hesitated, knowing she wanted to say yes very badly, but she also knew that she had just woken up and this could all just be a dream and heartbreak bound to happen. Ava walked away on her phone and Marley closed her eyes, thinking about what was coming up ahead. Ava had used the term āforeverā leading Marley to think that maybe she was actually ready to settle down and be with someone. As the blonde got off of the phone, Marley opened her eyes and looked over at her. āI will..ā She managed in a tone lower than a whisper. āIāll be your girlfriend..ā
Ava was extremely disappointed when she got caught in Ashton's voicemail within the first ten seconds of the call. He, clearly, sent her there because he refused to talk to her. Honestly, Ava couldn't blame him. She had been a bitch to him and it had taken until Marley woke up for her to realize it. She didn't hang up, though, as she normally would have instead of leaving a message. "Ash," The blonde was crying harder than she was to him back at the apartment. "I-It's Marley... she's awake." She turned back to the girl in the bed. "I'm not lying. I swear." That was the last thing she spoke before she hung up and wandered back over to Marley. "R-Really?" She was genuinely surprised that her friend actually agreed to be her girl. Not thinking, she kissed Marley on the lips. It was a limp kiss, assuming because the other girl still hardly had any feeling in her body. But, Ava didn't care.

Everything in Marley just wanted to wake up and scream and hug the girl that was aching in front of her. Hearing Ava crying in so much pain made Marley sink lower and lower, making her feel like itād be forever until she woke up. Before she knew it, Marley had zoned out, not really hearing anything else that went around in the room. Waking up, her hands were tingly, her feet felt heavy and she had the worst headache. Slowly, her eyes open, sensitive to the light, but catching someone in her view that she couldnāt go without calling. āAva..ā She whispered, her throat sore from letting it just sit there. āAva,ā She called out louder, hoping the girl could hear her.
Finally unable to move her legs anymore, Ava crouched down, not completely sitting on the floor, and hid her face in her lap, crying harder than before. Now, everything was making her sad and it wasn't just Marley. It was Ashton, Elliot, Brogan, and everyone else, too. Faintly, Ava began to hear a familiar voice that only drove her crazier. She recognized it as Marley's but she didn't recognize it to be real. Then, it happened again, louder this time. She looked up, her eyes red and puffy and her lips quivering, towards the bed. "Mar-" She whispered. "Marley!" She exclaimed as she climbed right out of her funk. The first thing she did when she approached the girl's bedside was kiss her on the forehead. At the sight of this, she cried joyous tears. "Marley, you have to promise to be mine forever. Please, be my girlfriend." She walked away from the girl, giving her a moment to think about it. In that time, she used her phone and she called the only person she could trust. Ashton.

Though Marley couldnāt move or feel anything, she heard absolutely everything that happened from her. From nurses, to her brotherās fears, to Broganās pleads, to Ashtonās failed jokes, to Avaās tears. It pained her each and every time Ava came to visit her. Itās not like she wasnāt hurt every other time someone came in and prayed for her to wake up, but she cared so deeply about Ava that she knew she was hurting her so much more than everyone else. As she sat listening to the beeping of her heart monitor and the air being pumped into the tubes connected through her nose, Marley heard a familiar voice. One that made her brain scream. She knew Ava was here and if it were possible, sheād never make her leave. She wanted to hear it again, she had to. But there was nothing she could do.
She squeezed her eyes shut, forcing out whatever tears she could. She didn't want to cry, but it was like she couldn't help it, now. This time, she could tell it'd be worse than usual. "I didn't mean to hurt them, Marley, you have to know that." She mumbled through her tears. "They can't know that I came, they can't." She was more so whispering to herself at this point. Ava didn't really believe that Marley could hear her, and if anything, she hoped that she couldn't. Ava couldn't be weak. She couldn't be caught in a state like this, especially not by Marley. "Why did you have to go that night? Why did you do this to me?" She had to stop herself from saying anything else. She knew that the girl didn't mean it, and it wasn't her fault. Standing, she let go of Marley's hand and began pacing the room, running a hand through her hair. She used both of her palms to hide her emotions from nobody in particular.Ā

"I never said I didn't need her." She spat at Ashton, as she tasted the salt of her own tears. Ava turned to leave, although she heard him answer her. She didn't have anything more to say with him, though. "I'm going out." She didn't feel the need to keep him updated on her whereabouts, so, instead of saying anything more, she walked out the door and out of the building, towards her car. In the driver's seat, she dried her tears. She had to be strong for where she was about to go. She had to be strong for Marley. Speeding her way to the hospital, she made it there in just a few minutes. Instead of using the door, she walked around the side, climbing a very familiar tree to the window of Marley's room. Once she fell into the window almost soundlessly, she wandered to her friend's bedside. "Marley," She whispered in the same tone she used every time she visited the girl. "Don't worry, I'm hear now." A tear accidentally escaped, and she brushed it away as fast as it had come out before grabbing Marley's hand.
Iāll make sure to tell that to Marley if she wakes up.
I never said I didn't need her.
No, Ava, Iām not going toĀ fuckingĀ leave you alone. I now know how much youāre hurting, but I also know that you still left. You deserved a break, yes, but you donāt know how much I was so worried that Marley would wake up and sit in her room depressed that it almost kills herself. Iām sure sheās told you about how much people have cheated on her in the past. She doesnāt handle hurt well anymore. None of us knew that you saw Marley because you didnāt tell any of us and Marleyās unable to speak. You imagine being in my shoes right now. Iām constantly worrying about you and Marley and the fact that I have to deal with my best friend crying his eyes out every night because his little sister is in a life or death situation. ElliotĀ never cries. Yes, sure, whatever, you deserve a break, but that doesnāt mean you should take one. What if Marley were to die yesterday? Right there on that table while you left for three days because you needed aĀ break? You wouldnāt be telling me to leave you alone then, right? You wouldnāt be leaving for three days anymore because she wouldnāt be here. She needs you Ava and you canāt just keep letting your fears keep you from her. Iām exhausted, Iām worried sick, but Iām there with her every day because Marley means a lot to me, and I thought she meant a lot more to you. Iām thereĀ allĀ day long with Elliot and Brogan and youāre there for anĀ hourĀ maybe two. She needs you, we all need you, Ava.
Well, I don't need you. I don't need any of you.
Iāve been with her. Itās you she needs.
That's what you don't get. I've seen her everyday since the accident. You guys have just been too overwhelming with the sadness and the sympathy for yourselves. I'm sad enough when I spend an hour a day with her and two hours on weekends. It's upsetting and I know you don't get how her being hurt affects me because you've never even bothered to ask. All you and everyone else have done is yell at me and tell me how I should be dealing with this. So, I think I deserved a break, Ashton.
Because my life is with Marley and I know how much she cares about you and how much itāll literally kill her to know you donāt give a fuck. This is for her, not for you.
So, why are you wasting your time on me when you can be with Marley.
