"I was." Irene casually admits as she stirs her drink. The tiniest hint of a smile lifts the corners of her mouth slightly and she turns her attention fully back to Ati.

"I know we were supposed to read up on the exhibits and watch the displays in action, but I must have gotten a bit distracted. Will you forgive me for being a bit of a flirt?" She shakes her head at her excuse, letting out a breathy chuckle.

"Will it make things better if I admit that I greatly enjoyed my time there and liked reading up on their conservation work?"

When you're coming back home after a long day, and they sit on the left side of the bus to catch the sunset. When you're admiring them often, and you realize maybe there's more to this. When they share their headphones on the long ride with you, and you take down notes in your journal and they doodle a little flower on the corner. When you look at the way the sun glare makes their hair a brand-new golden shade, and you take in how small moments mean so much.

Nora often lived life like she was in her own little world, perhaps it was why she was able to sequester herself off and ignore the noise of other museumgoers more than usual. She'd been drawn to take up her time at an area that had the least amount of people in it so she wouldn't be rushed when it came to parsing out text on plaques and taking in the details of the ancient artifacts. Her question towards the woman who approached wasn't malicious; she was just unused to people so eagerly walking up to her.

"Oh, hi," she replies, grateful she'd cleared up that it was Mesopotamia and not Hippopotamus. Similar words often got mixed up in her head. Inquisitive eyes follow the doctor's point and Nora nods. "Mmhmm! I really like these." She points towards some that she personally finds cute, finding them to look like some kind of animal. "They look like weird bears or dogs or something. I dunno how they lasted this long without breaking; did you find them? I don't remember where the place is, but it's far away, right?"

She usually wasn't this chatty, but her current companion was not only kind, but knowledgeable. Safe to talk to.
